Black guy with thick glasses who takes orders at the front.. Wow! He smiles, he sings, he dances, and he is like a mascot for this location. He gives great customer service! I come back just to see him. . He was a wounded veteran and now works here. He has tape on his glasses because he can’t afford new ones. . This guy needs a raise!

This is the only fast food place I go to. Great burgers – even better than In n Out. Great fries. Great frozen custard! There are a lot of deals and coupons available making the decent prices even better. I love the flavor of the day thing, and tend to go through the monthly list and check off flavors of custard I want to try. Not only is the food tasty, but the people working here are the friendliest bunch I’ve met in any restaurant. Although I’m sure that they’re forced to be friendly otherwise they’ll be fired, it still works for me.

I became familiar with Culver’s 10 years ago, when I worked at the east end of Highway 36. Someone from work would mention they were going to Culver’s and I would order a Swiss Cheese Mushroom Burger meal. I was very impressed with it. Delicious and fresh. Somebody or some company probably, decided to open a store on Rice street. That was about 5 years ago. Of course I needed to check it out for their other style burgers, rather then the same old Swiss/Mushroom burger I was ordering when others were picking it up for me. Quite some time ago, I stopped in to get a burger. Wanted something I had not had before. I know I should try their other sandwiches,(chicken, fish, pork) but it was not going to happen on this day. I wanted a burger. I am going to get a burger. Looking over the menu board, I decided on what I think they called a Pub Burger. It is not on the everyday menu. Just a special burger for that month. It was a double, with pepper jack cheese between the patties. On a fresh baked onion roll. I have been around the burger block a few times. And have had great burgers and burgers so bad, it needed to be returned. This burger was a great burger. Simply delicious. A seasoned beef with pepper jack cheese on an Onion Roll, slightly toasted. It was a specialty burger and it was spendy sorta at $ 8.75 with beverage and fries. But so worth it once in a while. I have been there a few times since and have always had great service and great meals. Recently, I went there for a burger and fries. I was in frugal mode that day and noticed they had several options for a burger with a small fry and small beverage for under $ 5.00 plus tax. I chose the Bacon Deluxe Single. I was not disappointed, but it was not as tasty as other burgers I have had from there. Small fries they were. Probably 12 french fries in the little bag. That is OK to me. It is a burger shop and I am there for the burgers, not the fries. The small beverage is 12 oz. When was the last time you saw a 12 oz beverage at a restaurant? That is OK for me to. And get this, they did not even try to up-size it for an additional charge. Just a Snack Pack Meal at less then $ 5.00 with no soft sell to get you to spend more $$$. We have so many options for great burgers around town, it is difficult for me to say this is my favorite. But when the stomach growls and it is time for a burger, Culver’s is so close to me now, I have to consider it. Others compare this to MacD, BK and Wendy’s. Though Wendy’s comes close, the others do not. Culver’s is not considered fast food, but more of the Casual Dining experience. Though they do serve quickly. At least for dining in. I have not tried the Drive Thru. I need to try their desserts. But I do not get into ice cream desserts until summer time. With the weather we have had, I think summer will be here around August.

If I have a craving for fast food or burgers, I’m going to eat at this Culver’s. It actually tastes good, and doesn’t taste processed. Also, the place is sparkling clean and the staff they have are well trained and very friendly and professional. They come around and offer condiments if or ask if you need refills. I appreciate that they always have several copies of the newspaper, too. The food is always tasty and consistent, but tastes far more«home-cooked» than any fast food place I’ve been to. The only reason I can’t give them 5 stars is because their drive-thru sucks. You have to park in a u-turn/horeshoe area, and wait for someone to bring out your meal, it isn’t exactly streamlined. Overall, I’d hands down rather eat here than any McDonalds or Burger King.

I’m not gonna get too in depth about a fast food restaurant, but I have to say that these folks make a pretty mean burger. The meat is always juicy and a little greasy, and the toppings and buns are fresh. I would take these burgers over a lot of restaurants and bars. The fries really do it for me too– crinkle cut, creamy inside, and just the right size. I’ve tried other items on the menu with equally good results; the cod fillet sandwich was a big hunk of flaky and moist fish that would hold it’s own in fancier places, and the beef pot roast sandwich absolutely melted in my mouth. They have a much wider variety of foods than your average FF joint, like a cod AND a walleye sandwich, a prime rib dip, grilled or crispy chicken sammies, pork tenderloin sammies, ruebens, chicken dinners, etc. As for deserts, they’re known for their frozen custard, which for me is far superior to DQ’s ice milk, but not as good as real ice cream. The staff is more friendly and professional than the average FF joint, and overall I really couldn’t expect anything more from a place like this– I’m always surprised at how homemade their food tastes. As pricing goes, it’s reasonable for the quality, but there’s certainly no dollar menu here– I had the cod sandwich with fries and a drink, and a sundae for desert, and it was almost $ 12. They always seem to have coupons going, including buy-one-get-one deals.
