If you ever find yourself in Lititz(the friendliest little town in the country), be sure to stop in and check out this great store. You can find everything PA Dutch here and the baked goods are the best ever. Shoo-fly pie is yummy and the«sticky» buns are fabulous… we make it a point to stop in before we fly back home to stock up on things we can’t get in Florida.(good pretzels, chips and baked goodies as well as Lebanon bologna and smoked sausage)

When I noticed how many local awards this place won I had to check it out. And it’s my new favorite grocery store. The employees are always so helpful and friendly. The selection is great, both the indoor grocery stuff and the outdoor non-grocery stuff. We got our Christmas tree here and it was the best one we’ve ever gotten. We’re spoiled by the giant selection of affordable organic foods in our previous Austin grocery stores, so I’d love to see more of that. But I really despise grocery shopping, and Stauffers of Kissel Hill makes it tolerable.

I love Stauffers so much! The employees are always kind, personable, and eager to help! Brenda has become more of a family friend! The prices are fair, the store is clean, and the selection is vast! My favorite market ever!

This is for any«foodie» who likes quality and selection without having to go into NYC. The prices are what brings me back! Worth the hour travel time as no market in the Reading Pa area can even come close to SKH.

I’ve been very pleased with the prices and quality I’ve gotten at Stauffer’s, but the thing that places them WAY ahead of the competition is service and concern about quality… 1. Everyone at checkout has been friendly and courteous all the time. 2. The butcher, a real character by the way, answered a question for me about a dish I was going to make involving braising chicken(fryer or roaster?). He not only gave me a recommendation, but he actually walked me to the area where they had chickens, helped me select one, and he even broke it down for me into 8 parts recommended for the recipe(saving me time and a big mess in my own kitchen). 3. I once asked about a spice that, it turns out, they didn’t carry. The person I asked was really interested in what it was so he could work on bringing it to the store. The attention they give to pleasing the customer is beyond any other supermarket I’ve patronized.

Stauffers has a large selection of items along with an adjoining greenhouse. However, I have never been satisfied with the prices. They need to step it up in that area as I’d say they are behind Weis. A self checkout wouldn’t hurt either.

What started out as a quick stop to pick up a few staple items ended up as a two hour field trip. This market is located in the heart of Lancaster County, so yes, there is an abundance of meat and dairy, along with all of the other nefarious stuff we won’t eat. On the other hand and ironically, this store is quite a delight to shop in. The aisles are spacious, nice selections in just about every aisle(they have things like international tea and powered peanut butter) and the employees are happy, helpful and the entire organization appears to be customer focused. Water stations throughout the store, complimentary coffee, fresh gourmet coffee available via an honor pay system and there was no — ^ shopper’s behavior modifying music -^ playing in the background, just bad 80s music, which only added to the adventure. The outdated fixtures took me back to the days when I would go shopping with my mom and there is a nice big greenhouse attached to the market where I wanted to dig in, take off my shoes and roam for a few hours. Sadly, nothing organic in here and I sensed things were being pretty heavily sprayed with chemicals to keep them looking so beautiful. «Too much styrofoam and waste!» I compose in a letter to Bruce, the manager. Not my favorite place to go grocery shopping, but that place doesn’t exist here in America, so for now… we’ll give it another shot next week.
