Played today and will definitely be back again. There are a couple of greens that are still healing from the winter but most are perfect. We walked 18 in just over 4 hours.

I played Passaconaway early in the season. I payed $ 20 for 18 walking which was a deal they had for the month of April. The condition of the course was decent for this time of year, I have seen much worse. The greens were plugged so that’s always an adventure, but they offered a good deal which is the right thing to do when the course is a little banged up from a brutal winter. Most people I spoke to who know this course say that the condition is excellent when the season really gets going. The layout, however, I felt left a lot to be desired. Very flat, wide open former farmland type of course. Some pretty gnarly bunkers here and there but barely any water. Some swampy tall grass type stuff out there, not too picturesque. There are also power lines that run right through the middle of the course. I am a beginner golfer but even I prefer to see some water, hills, etc. to keep things interesting. After my round I went into the grill room and had a beer and a burger. The food was about the same as the course. Nothing to write home about. I always prefer when the bar overlooks some part of the course. This one did not. I think this course is best utilized as a place to take advantage of an early season deal and kick the rust off. Not gonna lose too many balls out here. There’s no way I would pay $ 60 or whatever they ask during peak golf season. Not worth it.
