You could not ask for a nicer patio and a friendlier staff. The food — tasty as expected. This is the place to stop on the Road To Litchfield. Highly recommended

My wife and I were recently first time visitors. Two very small pieces of bread. My lasagna was cold in the center, and poor tasting. Wife always gets baked ziti and said it was the worst she ever had. Waitress had a terrible attitude. It was like hurry eat, pay and get out. Would never recommend it.

Poor service — waitress did not get order correct and was very rude. Very unpleasant to deal with. Food was mediocre. Will not be returning any time soon.

Why open a restaurant when you hate serving people food? Menu is a mess, local radio blaring, bad food and unbelievably awful service. Our waitress threw our food at us(really). Order was wrong but no apology offered. The experience was so awful it was almost funny.

Indifferent and slow service. Ants crawling all over in our booth and walls. We told the owner and was told«we’ve been having a problem and can’t get rid of them». We were not offered another seat, so we moved on our own. Not long after, another party of 4 was seated. Ok, so after 25 minutes, our very simple order arrived. Cold reuben without thousand island dressing, 2 cold burgers with stale buns, an a simple salad that was obviously a bagged variety-darn the house dressing wasn’t even good. Not going back.

Okay, so we didn’t realize that the restaurant we have been going to for years(once per year) was no longer in business. .. We just went to the same spot and got ourselves seated outside on the lovely patio. It wasn’t until I wanted to order a Gyro and did not find it on the menu that I was told this restaurant had been at this location for two months. :) Well, I didn’t get a Gyro, but we had a great mid-afternoon lunch at any rate. The servers were all polite and helpful, and the food was quite tasty. A wide variety of options on the menu.

DiFranco’s My gf, myself, and a friend were int he area for a day-trip and needed to grab some food before we headed home. Having read past reviews of Di Franco’s while in the car, I thought it would be nice to check it out. There was a recent review that was sad they had closed, so I figured they had simply renovated and reopened perhaps. Upon arriving, we were told that we could sit at any table outside or go inside. Given that it was beautiful outside, we opted to sit road-side. The hostess brought over some rolls and took our drink orders. Unfortunately they had yet to obtain a liquor license so they couldn’t serve beer, but had let us know that we could purchase beer locally and bring it with us. At that point, I assumed the reason for flosing was a change in ownership. After the drinks were delivered, our waitress came over to take our lunch orders. Unfortunately, this is where our visit started to decline. She didn’t seem to give the feeling that she cared or even knew what was going on. When my friend ordered a turkey sub, she thought he said a chicken parm. I gave her the benefit of the doubt as we were outside and there were plenty of bikers in the area. My girlfriend ordered a grilled chicken wrap, and requested cheddar instead of the normal cheese that came with it.(Mozzarella I believe) The waitress immediatelety interjected with«We dont’ have cheddar.» She didn’t say what they DID have instead until we asked. The wrap arrived with mozzerella on it. Once the bill arrived, we noticed that she wrote down Mozzarella anyways. I ordered the Reuben. A few minutes after taking the orders, she came back out and let us know that they didn’t have pastrami for my sandwich, but offered to make it with roast beef or turkey instead. I’m sorry, but when I order a Reuben, I expect corned beef, not pastrami. Having had a good turkey Reuben(Rachel) elsewhere, I assumed that would work out well here too. Couldn’t have been more wrong. When my lunch arrived, I immediately noticed that there was no dressing on the sandwich. What is a Reuben/Rachel without thousand/russian island dressing? This was literally 2 pieces of toast and a pile of, what appeared to be, pre-packaged turkey with a little sauerkraut in the middle. The turkey itself was wet, almost soggy, which took a toll on the bread as well. Since you can’t judge on appearance only, I took a bite, and instantly knew that this wouldn’t be my lunch. I called the waitress over, and politely let her know that this wasn’t working for me, and that she could return it to the kitchen. There was no flavor at all, the turkey was indeed soggy, and it wasn’t appealing on ANY level. An older woman came out to apologize, so I assume she’s the owner. She mentioned that they only use fresh meats and she saw the chef slice the turkey that very morning. I let her know that biting into that sandwich was the equivalent of biting into a wet sponge, and that I wasn’t happy with it. She was quick to dismiss it as «making a Reuben with turkey wasn’t possible» and took it off of our bill. I don’t live near this restaurant, but in the odd change I’m ever in the area, I wouldn’t be returning.

Best place in Litchfield! I go here at least once a week and always get some kind of chicken dish. The best. The shrimp scampi is my favorite. If I could I would eat here every night. The owners and family is great! So upset they are closed. Hopefully they reopen soon

Based on Unilocal reviews, we decided to try out some Italian in Litchfield. The ambiguously named salads were confusing, but we were able to get some brief descriptions to help us make a decision. We also ordered a small pizza with sausage, green peppers, and onions and with a great thin crust — it was more than enough for 2 people. We also liked the casual, laidback atmosphere and the TVs streaming sports.

I used to work nearby at Rose Haven, a little nursing home just barely up Route 63 towards Goshen next to the bank. A nurse I worked with loved their salads and pizza and would sometimes order out for us. Always tasty, I’ve never had a crappy pizza from here. Also, if you’re looking for something in Litchfield that won’t cost an arm & leg and is still yummy, you’ve found your place.

Decent pizza in CT… color me suprised. Had the spinach, eggplant, and some other veggie pie… meatball on the other side, but we are still friends ;) Small little spot, nothing to extraodinary, but if you’re looking for something less pretentious in the antiquey Litchfield area for lunch… this is it.
