It’s a good place to stop and grab ice cream and a couple pieces of candy! They have a large assortment of old fashion candy that I haven’t seen in a long time, not to mention the curtesy of the staff. I definitely recommend this shop! If I find myself in the area again, I’ll be sure to stop by!

This shop was very nice. They have a wide selection of teas. I also enjoyed the fresh cheese and caramel corn. I was a little disappointed that the yarn portion of the store didn’t have anything that I needed, but I have a pretty specific type of yarn in my current project so I am not surprised that it isn’t available.

Super quaint place! The lady working was very helpful and friendly. Prices can be a big steep, but from someone used to California prices, this isn’t that bad.

We love to stop in for ice cream when it’s nice out! They have ice cream, coffee, candy, popcorn, and yarn with an area to knit or crochet! I love the mini cones, only $ 1 and the perfect amount of ice cream for little ones and me :)

$ 1 mini ice cream cones! When I heard about that… I knew I had to try it. The nook has a large selection of candy, ice cream, drinks, and other treats. They can make coffee drinks if you’re there in a cold day. They have a sitting area inside and outside. I noticed a small selection of games on a bookshelf. Perfect place to relax for a bit! They have a large knitting section. I would call this a large section but I don’t know too much about knitting. Overall– very cute place! I will be back soon!

What a cute little shop! I found it in a Google search and it’s so cool. Nice little selection of yarns. When you walk in, the yummy smell of fresh coffee is just the perfect welcome. I bought some lovely yarns and sat down to enjoy a sugar free Carmel Latte. Looking forward to many more trips to The Nook.

A throw back in time with a wall of penny and nickel candy, old fashion scoop ice cream and a mix-match of chairs to tables makes this place classic. I felt like a kid picking out the vintage candies from childhood. The ice cream was great and good portions. I wanted to grab an orange dreamsicle pop but thought my hips may hate me in the morning.(why do the great things add pounds). The Sioux Falls pop selection was great. They have a knitting studio toward the back and a small store like area. Check it out on a cool fall night. The hot coffees and cocoa will warm you right up. Very reasonable priced. My turtle sundae was $ 4 tax included.

This place is so dang cute and I’m so glad it’s in this area! It has a bunch if funny candy for my picky sweet tooth, and great ice cream which is why we go of course! The people in there are so friendly too! I really enjoy this place. Looks like they have knitting or something in the back too which is nice for people who like doing that, they have a little checkers table to the corner a couple tables inside and seating outside, very nice :-) I’ll be back

I can remember when this place was a book store and small candy shop. Now it’s like the Yarn Club headquarters(probably for all the blue hairs that live in this town). It still sells some candy and now ice cream and coffee but I miss when it was the BOOK nook.

Visited here here a couple of weeks ago. Great selection of candy and loved the yummy ice cream. The store also teaches how to knit and has meet ups and classes. They sell the cutest hand knit items and the owner was very nice. It’s conveniently located in downtown Lisle nestled among other cute little stores. Love visiting so we can have have a scoop of ice cream while walking the street.

So friendly! This shop combines a few wonderful things: it’s a café that serves coffee and tea drinks, an ice cream parlor that features Petersen’s Ice Cream(lovely place in Oak Park), all sorts of modern and old-fashioned candies(the latter are just $.05), and YARN. Tons of yarn. Both natural and synthetic fibers(but nice synthetic, I must stress) are represented here. The people at the shop are super-friendly without being pushy, and this shop is incredibly welcoming. They stock a wide range of Knitter’s Pride needles, which is nice — they’re quite good needles at reasonable prices. I found the perfect yarn for a project I’d planned for my niece while I was there, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Downtown Lisle is also adorable. I’d ridden and driven through the town plenty of times before — heck, our vet is even located in Lisle — but I’d never been in the downtown area until a couple of days ago. Love it! On a nice day, it would be lovely to get some ice cream from The Nook and sit on one of the nice benches in the square and just people-watch. There’s also a sandwich shop next door. So theoretically, you could go and knit your heart out, break for lunch, then go back and knit some more — all without leaving that block. Well, except that street parking is only 2 hours. Sigh.

Love this little place. Good coffee at a reasonable price. Staff is very nice and actually will engage in a conversation with you. There were three little old ladies knitting And chatting about life in general. They were adorable!

The Nook is such an inviting store. The staff are friendly and readily available, my favorite thing is their ice cream, but I frequently buy their delicious lattes and iced coffee! The yarn addition is an excellent way to keep me dropping in often to browse and work on my fav knit and crochet projects. Their yarn supply is unique and neatly arranged. My 3-yr old son plays the games while I shop in the boutique. Pleasant atmosphere! I LOVE this place. :)

This is a great place to get ice cream, newspapers, coffee, candies AND knitting supplies! They have delicious ice cream which they serve in cones, cups or as milkshakes. You can even take some home with you if you’re still hungry. The coffees are always fresh because they’re made to order. Plus they have a great selection of yarns & knitting supplies with comfy tables & couches so you can hang out & knit while enjoying all of the other stuff. It’s right in downtown Lisle just north of the train station. You can usually find a good parking spot right out front or at least within a block or two. It’s an easy walk from the station & the other downtown shops & restaurants are nearby. I love coming here to relax with my knitting or just stop by for a chat while getting some ice cream to go. The staff is very friendly & helpful every time I go there.

I’ve been coming here since I was little! I’m pretty sure this is the first place I learned about math and money. They had(and still have) a huge selection of candy in jars for 5, 10, 25 cents or more. My dad would give my brother and I a dollar and we would have to figure out how much candy we could get. You’ll also find a great selection of magazines, maybe even some rare ones. I still go here with my family whenever we’re in town. My husband loves the black and white pictures of what Lisle used to look like. I’m sure we’ll be back soon.

Phenomenal place, Scott and Kitty are awesome as Darryl S. mentioned the Ice Cream is top notch!!! They also make their own ice cream sandwiches while you wait with your favorite of their 20 or so flavors if a cone, waffle cone, dipped waffle cone, sugar cone, or bowl don’t suit your fancy. They have a wide selection of magazines and periodicals as well as news papers. Great candy selection with a lot of the old stuff we grew up on. If you are in Lisle, you can’t pass it up

I went to the area to take care of some Comcast business that got me riled up. Getting out of the place fuming, I noticed a chalkboard sign stating that this place had the best ice cream. Drunk off anger, I was easily persuaded by the claim and it’s multicolored drawing of an ice cream cone. Well the claim was no joke. I probably had the best postachio almond ice cream I’ve ever had. Scott and Kitty, who are the owners, recommended that flavor of homemade ice cream, and thank God they did. I ended up getting a pint for my mom since she likes that flavor too. The place is clean and pretty well stocked as well. It seemed like a downtown Lisle hot spot since it was getting good business from townspeople while I was there. They pretty much have everything a regular convenient store would have(i.e. magazines, candy, bottled drinks, etc), but the money item in the store is the ice cream. I also have to add that the owners were very friendly and funny. It looks like the place also changed it’s name to «The Nook» as well. They can change whatever they want, as long as they don’t change the ice cream.
