A friend and I stopped in here for some pastrami sandwiches to-go. Got home and realized they didn’t put any Russian dressing on mine as I requested. Eh but whatever, life went on. The pastrami was good, nothing special. They’re definitely overpriced. I paid over $ 12 for my sandwich that came with 2 pickles… for 12 bucks at least throw in some plain chips and make me feel like I got a whole meal lol. Not sure I’d go out of my way to go back here.

My family is very grateful to Deli King of Linden for providing a warm, clean environment and delicious trays of sandwiches and salads for the reception after my father’s funeral. We only had a couple days to find a place and I’m so glad we found them. Thank You

Stay away. Ripoff is accurate if you’re a walk-in. Make sure you don’t order a turkey salami sandwich on wheat bread like I did, it was $ 17.85 with a soda. Need I to say more?

This is much more of a catering business than a sandwich shop. Paid $ 12.83 for a small pastrami sandwich that one would expect to cost around five bucks. You wouldn’t pay more than $ 8 for a comparable sandwich even in Manhattan. Complete ripoff. Pastrami, which seemed to be homemade, was decent but nothing special. And the gentleman who made the sandwich took at least five minutes to do a one minute job. Don’t get me wrong– I am happy to wait if the wait is worth it, but all he did was slice some pastrami and throw it on some bread with little mustard. And it took him FIVEMINUTES. The counter area and refrigerators are covered in catering taped-up order forms and littered with catering supplies. It’s not particularly inviting. Not recommended.

The service is terrible. I called in an order and they did not even start. I waited around there and nobody even acknowledged me when I was there. The place looks very dirty and disorganized. Finally the food came out. According to their website the prices are one thing and they charge more when you get there. I will never go there again.

When you go to Deli King, don’t expect the ambiance to be like the Ritz. It is old and appears to be kind of a dive. Don’t let that fool you into thinking the food is anything less than outstanding. When you first enter, you pass the deli counter and freezers full of other foods. This is Kosher, not Kosher style, so there is nothing you can get at the counter or at the tables that has ever touched anything made with milk(parve), like cheese. In other words, don’t try to order ham and Swiss or a BLT. They do offer frozen milk based dishes you can buy and take home. We got there the day after Passover ended, and they had been closed for the week. Because of that, their menu was limited. But, we got what we wanted — I had a Corned Beef sandwich, a potato knish and a Dr Brown’s Cream Soda. They also serve a pickle tray with the best full sour and half-sour pickles. The cost is reasonable. The service very good and the servers very pleasant. I’m so glad we decided to try this out. It was a great experience.

Extremely impressed by all aspects of this place. I was at a Shiva recently for a family member and a kosher dessert platter arrived from Deli King. With that, the home-owner said out loud that she loves their deli platters and that her synagogue gets catering from them. With that said, I ordered a deli platter for the next day’s Shiva. The person that answered the phone was very nice, knowledeable and accomodating. The platters arrived exactly on time(which was impressive since Deli King is in Linden and the home was 25 minutes away in Livingston) The delivery person was professional. He kept the platters packed on ice in his car to keep it fresh and offered us additional ice if we needed it for anything else. The food. WOW! 1st cut Pastrami — Amazing, Roast Beef, Corned Beef, turkey, unbelievable Potato Salad, very fresh rye bread, pickles, slaws, musturds, russian dressing etc. All displayed very tastefully. Priced at about $ 20 per person, I feel that it was a fair price given the amount of food and condiments and the freshness and tastiness of their deli meats. PS, the desserts received the day prior were also top-notch and dispayed nicely(i’m not much of a dessert person, but can tell by the way people enjoyed that it was good) I’m not waiting for the next Shiva to order from here again. Next time we have company over to watch a football game or to celebrate a holiday, we will be ordering from Deli King.

I sent rugelach from here for my client’s husband’s Shiva. Here’s the thank you letter I recieved… Thank you for your kindness to Elaine during this difficult time. She was thrilled to tell us you were so kind to think of her and to send her the most delicious rugelach. We all agreed the rugelach is the best we have ever tasted. We have had rugelach in the past, but nothing compared to yours. Please advise us where you purchased the rugelach so we can order in the future.

Deli King catered my daughters bat mitzvah luncheon and the food(delicious and abundant), wait staff(friendly, helpful and professional) and organization(Eddie was a great problem-solver) couldn’t have been better. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

Deli King delivers on time and great food. For sloppy joe platters, you cannot get better ones anywhere in NJ. Eddie Levy is a legend in the Kosher Catering community.

Great wraps and salad! I attended an open house today that was catered by deli king. It is a bit out of the way but the homeowners were Kosher and so is deli king! Chicken ceasar and corn beef wraps were delish. Stop in for a sandwich if you are in the area.

We haven’t been to Deli King in a few years, but seeing that it hasn’t had a Unilocal review, I’ll step forward. Deli King isn’t always consistent, but can be excellent. Those readers familiar with the mixed meat, coleslaw and Russian dressing sandwich known as a cold Sloppy Joe won’t find a better one anywhere. Their deli meats are old-school style and fantastic, and while not the proportions(or prices) of Harold’s, quite generous. Their quality is better by miles. The free bowl of pickles are very good, as well. Traditional Jewish dishes are generally quite good. Service is homey-casual, and very friendly. Where Deli King falters is in atmosphere, and in the details. Eat-in diners are seated at tables which are surrounded by catering orders in process and tall stacks of supply boxes. Their credit card machine is rarely operational– the main reason why we stopped coming here. Diners sit in the corridor between kitchen and sales counter, which can be like trying to eat in a bus station, or can be completely quiet. Assuming that their quality hasn’t slipped, anyone who appreciates excellent corned beef or pastrami owes themselves a visit to Deli King.

Entertaining old style Jewish Deli. Food is good. Services is… eh. It’s really kind of 3 ½ stars. Not great, but good.
