Visited this evening as I heard they had good burgers so wanted to give one a try. While the burger and fries were good I can’t say one good thing about the young lady that waited on me. RUDE on all levels, does not need to be running a cash register and working with the public. Who is in charge of these teenagers running this restaurant??? Do some training for your staff on how to be polite, say thank you and may I help you. Don’t be drinking your beverage while taking someone’s order. I will not go back here.

Pretty good barbecue and fries. Get a lot food. Good for a quick bite to eat. Low key atmosphere. Pick up and seat yourself type of place.

Very cute place! The restaurant has updated it’s menu and for my company who hails from Lincolnton, they haven’t been in awhile and didn’t know what to order because there were so many new things on the menu! Today, we ordered the chili, the BBQ plate which comes with 3 sides, and also a tray(which comes with 2 sides). I think for the portions, the prices are very fair. The ladies at the front yell the orders– how the back chefs remember everything I have no idea because nothing is written down! The décor is very homey — wooden, and really cute. BBQ– I really liked it, they put some red sauce on it that I think is really good, not too salty. Mac n cheese– good, standard, not anything to brag about. Hushpuppies — yummy! Fries — nice and hot, not too salty. Onion Rings — REALLY good! crispy, not too much batter(you can definitely taste the onion!) Sweet tea — to me, not as good as bojangles. Chili — good reviews(i didn’t taste this myself) All in all, a very cute place great, fast service. Great cozy feel!

I ordered a regular size barbecue sandwich, fries, and sweet tea with lemon. Price, $ 6.93. There are two sizes of BARBECUESANDWICH, the regular and the King. My sandwich was just OK, nothing special. The pork was lean and tender, and slightly dry. A tiny, double thimble full, container of eastern vinegar dip was provided to partially remedy the situation. There was no smoke taste, and very little flavor in the meat, period. There was finely minced white slaw in the sandwich, but it didn’t add anything to the flavor or texture. FRENCHFRIES? The regular size order of shoe strings was very large and easily enough for two people. I would suggest a «half order» for a single diner. The fries were cooked to the blond stage, which is a good minute short of perfection. Most of the fries weren’t crispy, and some were mushy and unappetizing. There was no salt sprinkled on the fries after they left the oil. The SWEETTEA was pretty good. The Styrofoam cup was tiny, but there was an urn on the counter for customer refills. The tea in the urn was WARM though. SERVICE? Conversing with the young girl who took my order was like talking to a zombie. My food tray hit the counter in less than a minute. ORDERING? In a word, mayhem. No order lines, just twenty people or more clumped together in a pack, blocking those wanting to order, and getting in the way of those picking up their orders. The owners should consider putting both registers on one side of the order counter, handing customers a ticket, and moving the patrons off to the side to pick up their food. As it stands, its just bedlam and confusion. CONCLUSION? There are so many, better, options available, that I will probably never come here again.

We absolutely love this place. Stumbled upon it several years ago on our way to the High Country from Central Florida. Now we work it into our travel plans including not going up on Sunday and leaving here around 4AM so we hit Lincolnton around lunchtime. For us it is that good. We always order the pork plate or tray. Love the bbq, the sauce, and the hush puppies. Great tea, friendly service and a tradition we will ccntinue. Long live Bar-B-Que King!

On our way to Asheville, NC by ways of Columbia, SC we decided to take a lunch break off of the highway exit into Lincolnton. We passed one BBQ place close to the exit, decided to drive into town a little further and ran into BBQ King — this was a very pleasant surprise. I can’t judge the BBQ based on the«southern regional wars» on who has the best BBQ — all I can say the food is damn good. The hush puppies were great, the slaw was great, and the bbq was awesome. Wish we had one closer to where we live.

Poor quality of BBQ. Southern BBQ should have smoke flavor. Slaw also had a hair in it. I won’t be back

The BBQ is good. The hush puppies, not so much. It is the counter service, with food on paper and plastic, that is really off-putting to me.

Had’nt eaten here in a while, but had a Dr’s appt and some errands to run in Lincolnton and was getting hungry and wanted me some ‘Q. I love the old knotty pine wood walls and benches. You order at the counter and the girl yells the order back to the guys cooking. I don’t know how they do it, but I have never recieved a wrong order. The ‘Q is good with the right chop not to fine or to course, and has just the right amount of smoke. Hushpuppies are good too. Dip is the eastern Carolina or Lexington style vinegar dip with a choice or hot or mild. Make mine hot, please! Service is friendly and prices in line with any other BBQ joint. A king(large BBQ sandwich) with half and order of pups(8) and a tea is $ 7.02 with tax. Good burgers, dogs, grilled cheese and the like as well along with some good ice cream and milkshakes.

This is a pretty good Lexington/Western style barbecue(well, probably more of a Hybrid barbecue) restaurant, probably the best in Lincoln County. The chopped pork is tender, moist, with bits of outside brown in the chop. The slice barbecue is very good, especially when sauced with the hot variety of sauce there — and it is very tender meat. The hot sauce here is very hot. The slaw is a white variety, and on the dry side for my taste, but works well on a sandwich with additional sauce. Of course, the Barbecue Plate is also good, and the portions are great. The hush puppies here are very good, crunchy and flavorful. Fries are very ordinary, as is the hot dog. Found the service to be really nice — helpful, friendly folks.
