It’s been a while since we’ve been here; but it’s still one of my faves! On our most recent trip, we stopped by for dinner and it was a feast(ok, we splurged a little)! We ordered from their fixed menu which was $ 24/pp: + Appetizer: Egg rolls and pot stickers + Soup: Beef Westlake soup + Dinner: Steamed fish on top of tofu(his) and Beef chow fun(hers) — there were a dozen other entrees to choose from like roast duck, orange chicken, Mongolian beef + Dessert: Mango pudding Same great staff — from the time you walk in to when they’re boxing your leftovers — they’re all very helpful and provide awesome customer service! On top of all that, the food is amazing!

Guess happy hour half off means half the drinks. Visited the other night for apps and cocktails before we gambled. The prices were great but our cocktails came out only half full(photo attached is how the drink was served). The calamari and lettuce wraps were good but the pork buns were full of some type of liquid(tasted like water). So bad we could not eat them and returned the basket full; the server made no comment and never asked. Service was lacking. Will not be returning.

Overpriced and not very good, slow service. Appetizer was OK but entrée tasted terrible.

We went here on senior day to get only $ 10 off from our dinner of two kids and two adults. We ordered Queen Empress chicken, Peking duck here still my favorite dish in Sacramento area, fried calamari, pan fried soya pork chops, honey walnut prawns, sticky fried rice still my favorite restaurant to have, geoduck sashimi and salt pepper geoduck clam!!! Too bad they’re close for lunch on Monday-Friday! I can sleep good tonight with a satisfying tummy since I haven’t been here a year! Last few times were too busy to Unilocal

More to come on this review later. But we planned my wife’s birthday here. Reservation for 6. Had a neighbor drop off a small cake like we do at practically ever birthday celebration at every restaurant we go to.(Even tho it is a quasi-surprise). Elena(the manager) informed me that they will not store any outside food or beverages for«sanitary reasons»… Well, that is weird for two reasons.(1) restaurants on tribal land do not have to comply with local food/beverage ordinances and(2) every other restaurant in the world does this. If they want to make money off it, charge me for each piece… I don’t care. But it’s my wife’s birthday for crying out loud. We’re trying to make it special. So now surprise is ruined, cake is at my house, and we’ll be making our reservations elsewhere tonight. Clearly service is not applicable here.

Been here a few times and each time gets a little more disapointing. More upscale Chinese food like Fats so it is a little pricey. Average $ 25 per person. Food is just okay and you don’t get very much for the value and nothing i cant get elsewhere for less. The pot stickers have ginger in it and ginger makes me gag so I couldn’t eat them. I probably wouldn’t come if not for my thunder comps. Then I find out I dont get my Thunder discount either. I swore I did in the past because as far as I knew, this was a Thunder restaurant. It was $ 33 for the two of us, no drinks, and very little food. I won’t be coming back.

Best chinese food in the Sacramento area period. Cant get better then this place since most of there seafood is still alive in tanks in the kitchen area. My personal favorite is the smoked sea bass. Everything else is better then all the chinese restaurants in Sacramento county. There service is excellent and staff well trained. Ive had almost everything on there menu. I bring my family to eat here and my friends.

Was at Thunder Valley Casino for some Rest and Relaxation after a hard July at work. I dined at the Red Lantern and was pleasantly surprised. Somehow in the chaos of a major casino this nice little Chinese restaurant works. I am predisposed to give them a great review because I took the casino for some extra cash on the roulette table and basically ate for free, drank for free, and then walked out with a wallet full of cash that I did not come there with. The Shanghai dumplings were the bomb and the potstickers were not bad either. The hot and sour soup was awesome as well. The service was a bit rushed and for that I am going only 4-stars, all-in-all not a bad dinning experience. I found the restaurant clean and well kept and decorated very well. The furniture was modern, classy, and comfortable. I did not enjoy the smoke from the casino wafting into the restaurant, but dealt with it because it is a casino. The staff was polite and friendly, but a little inattentive. Still a solid 4-stars and a will return for a 5-star chance in the future. I can only hope I do as well gambling as I did on this visit. Thanks Red Lantern and Thunder Valley.

What a great meal! There was 8 of us and we got to sit at one of those tables with the wheel in the middle so you can spin the food to everyone. Pretty cool. So we ordered spring rolls, pot stickers, kung pao chicken, honey walnut shrimp, broccoli beef, orange chicken, fried rice and chicken chow mein. Probably forgot something, but honestly EVERYONE was pleased with the food. Of course also ordered some saki and sapporo. With gratuity, which they added, it was only $ 220. We were pleased with the price as well. Good times! We will be back!

This place used to be great when it was Fat’s/Koi but now the food is a tad too salty for my taste. I waited over 45 minutes for a bowl of noodle soup. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad. It hit the spot considering my other options at the casino were Subway, Pizza Hut, Fatburgers, Panda Express, and the casino buffet.

This place has tremendous value at happy hour. The happy hour is daily between 3 – 6 pm. We shared orders of lettuce wraps, sushi rolls, pot stickers, fried shrimp etc. We were stuffed and buzzed thanks to the great cocktail and beer deals as well.

Been here multiple times and I’m always amazed at how good the food here is. Their Xiao Long Bao(soup dumpling/bun) is absolutely delicious! I’m serious, it is a must try. Their noodle soups are solid and the portion is huge. Great bbq pork and duck as well. Service is always consistent. It is on the pricier side, but it’s okay to treat yourself every once in a while.

Four stars for having a daily happy hour from 4 to 7, even during weekends. Great for killing time while waiting for that gambler in your life! Beers are available for as low as two bucks each. Mixed drinks are five bucks and glasses of wine run four bucks or more. There are also happy hour appetizers. Not the best I ever had, but good enough especially for happy hour in a casino. The thunder roll was decent, but I probably won’t order the calamari again. If I’m ever stuck at Thunder Valley during happy hour, you know where to find me.

Great service! Sat at the bar… My bartender/server Mark was funny, yet awesome! Gave me some good recommendations and was fast at his service. Two thumbs up, I’ll be back again.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant of all time. Their food is very high quality. Its a little expensive but worth the price! They have a lunch special during the days for 10 $. Which gives you soup rice and an entrée. I come here aleast once a month.

Red Lantern is Located inside Thunder Valley casino. I really like the food here and my first visit was January 2014. Since then I have come back about 8 times… I have enjoyed several dinners here and lunches, plus several Happy Hour drinks. I am not a fan of buffet, but that is what my family always wants :(so I try to go to Red Lantern or Thunder café as I please. They have great Singapore noodles, I enjoyed the Roasted duck very much as well. I like the Hot tea, all soups, and spicy chili sauce a lot. For drinks, they have the BEST Saketini, if the bartender makes it correctly! The Ginger martini is amazing refreshing and smells lovely, the Lychee martini is Yummy too! I don’t like Love Potion though, no flavor or too much soda fizzy taste! Every time I have come in, the staff has been nice and welcoming towards me, especially the bartenders and servers, can’t say much for the hostess. I think the restaurant is beautiful decorated and very cool with all the Red Lanterns hanging above! It is a big area if you thoroughly look around.

Get the smoked Chilean sea bass, it will change your life. Ugh it’s so good — rich, sweet, tender, juicy. At $ 37 it is pricey, but oh so worth it. My mom gambles at Thunder Valley so when we go she uses her comps so it’s like it’s free haha. Their honey walnut shrimp, seafood soup, and«pea shoots»(I think that’s what it’s called in English) are some of my other favorites. Overall their Chinese food is very authentic, but they do have food that caters to a more American eater as well — hot and sour soup, chow fun, fried rice. Restaurant is very clean and staff is attentive.

Best Chinese food at thunder valley. Oh and the service is great too. Very attentive. Right by the original entrance, I mean we all enter by the garage now. Very upscale for a Chinese restaurant, giant lanterns, nice table, over all great ambiance. Service was amazing, she came by and gave us water. Pour us wine. Just over not your typical Chinese restaurant service. and if you’ve eaten dimsum or any authentic Chinese restaurant you’d know what I’m talking about. We ordered everything, Mongolian beef, walnut shrimp, fried rice seafood, seafood nest, and a lot more. My whole family enjoyed the food. And I thought the food was really good as well. If I wanted Chinese food and I’m at thunder again, I’d come back with my family.
