Downtown

The Downtown a.k.a. «the dirty jockstrap» There is a reason for me to call it that… IT SMELLS BAD!!! They do however have great drink specials, a dance floor and aren’t afraid to let its patrons get crazy. They also have a back bar called «REHAB» which with some more effort on their part could make the bar a lot better. All in all if you are bar hopping and want some more of the same stop in you may just meet the perfect one night stand.

OK so I was visiting from CA and we (2girls) needed somewhere to go on a Sat night, we had tried Dave and Buster’s the night before but apparently that closes at midnight on a Fri! Amazing!
After parking in a garage (only 2 $ for the night!!), we trolled the downtown street and this placed looked like it had normal looking clientele (read:not too hickey!) and it actually had a line to get in. Also as we passed by we heard the «4 Minutes» song playing so we thought that was a good sign that there would be dancing inside.
Got in no prob even though we were a tad casual (jeans and a top) but we are cute girls so that doesn’t really say much. On the street and In the club we saw a lot of cute high heels and short little dresses. it looked like you were free to either wear a tank and jeans or skirts and dresses, all seemed appropriate.
We bought 3 $ beers at the door, while maybe not the best deal it was sooo convenient and it also made us feel part of the party right away. At 11:30 the dance floor was still a little slow. However the DJ promptly played the cuban (cupid?) shuffle which got everyone and there mom out on the floor. That was grand fun and they also played «Big Butts», another crowd favorite. So soon enough the floor was crowded and people were bopping about to the music. (I know I saw way to many drunk girls showing off their skivvies) Pretty standard fair «sexy back» etc, but we got our groove on well enough.(beer helped!)
Surprise surprise! The bars in NE close at 1:00! But all in all we were glad we went out, it was fun and super cheap compared to normal SF or LA. If I was ever forced to be in NE again I would return.
