Have been coming to this hospital since I was 4. Have always had great nurses and support staff. ER Staff has always been quick when I have to go in. Doctors and Nurses work closely with the patient and their families for the best possible outcome. I just spent 15 days in the ICU/Progressive Care Units and can not say a bad thing about the care I received. Highly recommend this facility for patient cares.

Terrible experience with the billing department after my daughter went to the ER in Feb. 2015. St. E’s refused to work with BCBS at the time, which led to several gaffes in their charges that still haven’t been straightened out, despite me calling numerous times and even tracking down the billing dept. to talk to someone face to face. Everyone I’ve talked to has agreed that St. E’s messed up on the bill, but no one will stop them from sending me these erroneous statements, threatening me with collections, and threatening to have my daughter’s Medicaid services(qualified via an adoption) suspended unless I pay up. I don’t care if I’m bleeding to death; I will always drive the extra 10 minutes to Bryan from now on.

Walked into the emergency room on a slow Wednesday afternoon. The receptionist told us to sit at one of the nurses desk and that she would be there shortly. We sat down and waited, the nurse walked by surprised to see us. She had a huge wad of gum in her mouth and was chewing with her mouth open. She didn’t act professional at all. Once we were done there, she led us to our own room. It was the first room to be occupied. The rest of the staff was nice, just wish they would come faster, especially if we were the only ones there.
