Great little place to get some authentic food! My husband and I have ate here a handful of times and each and every time it has been a great experience. Quality is always on point and the employees are always very friendly. I would highly recommend if you are looking for something different than the typical Carolina cuisine.

Amazing food! Very fresh and very authentic. We liked the red sauce and also enjoyed the salsa verde. I appreciated that they only have five or six menu options(maybe more?), but they were all done well. It was also useful to have pics and descriptions on the menu for those folks who aren’t as familiar w some of the dishes. Small restaurant but they used their space really well. Nice outdoor seating area with lots of plants. Staff was also very nice and extremely accommodating. All of this made for an excellent lunch!

«Meh, I’ve experienced better.» That’s why I gave this place two stars. If you want a quick lunch, this is the place to go. If you want a quick lunch and good food, may want to steer yourself down Hwy 210 a little ways to El Tucan in Spring Lake. Stopped in here for the first time this weekend — I’ve passed by this restaurant many times, seen the reviews and knew I needed to experience the awesomeness that is Tacos Oaxaca. My wife and I ordered several tacos; 1x Chorizo, 2x Chicken. The tacos come in a corn tortilla(not my favorite, but a taste preference that has no bearing on my rating of the restaurant), ample meat, seasonings and topped with cheese. You get 3x bottles with your tacos — guacamole and two salsas(nice touch — I liked them). Everything looked great and the anticipation was building for the first bite… I took the bite and immediately I was hit in the face with the anticlimactic realization that these tacos were more bland than the Old El Paso tacos(come in a box at the grocery store with taco shells, packet of seasoning, etc). I was tremendously disappointed — how had so many great Unilocal reviews let me down? Not sure… I rarely put all my «eggs in one basket» so I had also ordered the Sincronizada. As I described to my wife(who also had a few bites), this glorified quesadilla was almost comparable to a Lunchables from the 90s. The Sincronizada contained green onions, jalapeños, deli ham(looked like it came straight from a pack of Honey Ham [water added] from Food Lion across the street) and Kraft American Singles, pulled out of the plastic wrapping and slapped into the mix. The cheese wasn’t even melted. I regret not taking pictures… For both the tacos and the sincronizada I had to drown them in the guacamole sauce to make them somewhat enjoyable. It’s always great to try new places, but unfortunately Tacos Oaxaca does not meet my standards for taste in authentic Mexican cuisine.

We stopped here after hiking at Raven Rock. The best tacos we have had since living in North Carolina for 6 years. Seriously delicious. It’s a small little shop, that I’m sure many people are passing by not realizing what a gem it truly is!

This is the place I take people that come to town wanting good Mexican food when I’m too lazy to cook it myself. The name of this restaurant; Oaxaca, is where my grandmother is from, so they basically have the same cooking style I do. I have tried almost everything on the menu and it is all good. If you like this place, but can’t make it during lunch or early dinner hours don’t worry, they have opened an actual restaurant in Lillington, by the IGA store and they stay open later in the evening. Give them a try and remember if you don’t see white cheese and thin sour cream– you are not eating authentic Mexican food. This place is as legit as it gets.

Tacos Oaxaca is a great spot to stop by and bite into authentic Mexican food. The location is clean, it has a small indoor seating area, but plenty of room in their outdoor seating area. Staff is friendly and courteous. If your in a hurry or have time to sit for a great food… this is the spot!!!

I’m Hispanic… Grew up in Az and living in NC, it is difficult to find really authentic Mexican food… Until this place! The building is not much to look at and very small but the food is fresh, delicious and authentic! You can’t go wrong with anything on this menu! If you’d rather have a sitdown place they have opened a restaurant in Lillington by Hogan’s pharmacy

Authentic Mexican Tacos! From the soft corn tortilla, the fresh cilantro, the green salsa you feel transported to the state of Oaxaca. This small unassuming single wide trailer might put you off. But don’t let it. Its clean, the outside sitting area nice, a little loud with the traffic. I order four tacos. They are small to me. I ordered the Al Pastor(marinated pork), Carne Asada(Steak), and two Grilled Chicken. I was literally to «chicken» to try the Taco de Lengua(beef tongue). They also had Chorizo(Mexican sausage), Chicharrón(fried pork skin), and Carnitas(fried tender pork) The tacos are made with lettuce, cilantro, Oaxaca cheese and a doubled up soft corn tortillas. I must admit I am not a fan of corn tortillas. I always feel the corn flavor over powers the rest of the taco. I am glad i ordered the tacos. They where simple but amazing. My favorite was the steak. Next time I will not be a wimp and I will try the beef tongue and Chicharrón. Its worth the drive to Lillington if you live in Wake County. After lunch you can head from there to Raven Rock State Park.

I’m a Mexican from Los Angeles, I have high standards when it comes to tacos. Tacos Oaxaca is the closest I’ve gotten to home in North Carolina. I’ve had their carne asada, chicharron, al pastor and chorizo. All meats are flavorful as well as the salsas. Tortillas are soft, fresh and delicious. Tacos are a little pricey I believe 3 $ or so, but then again I’m used to buying tacos off street vendors for 1 $ in L.A. and Tijuana. They offer many Oaxacan specialty dishes, however I always order tacos or a quesadilla de al pastor(spicy pork). If u want good tacos this is your go to.

Oh man. Looks like a tiny taco shack. Oh wait that’s exactly what it is. Best freaking Mexican food I have ever consumed. I’m sure it’s not that way for everyone. But for a white girl who loves Mexican food of all types, this is my favorite. Ingredients are fresh, food is cooked to order. And as far as I can tell it’s quite authentic. All the people who have eaten there with me(and know authentic more than I) claim it’s very authentic and very good. Oh and the sauce oh my stars!!! One note they have a minimum for running a card. I don’t remember what it is but if your not planning on spending more than about $ 10 bucks make sure you have cash. If your not in the area it’s worth the drive! Take your friends! And family! Take everyone! Open 11 – 7 seven days a week!

Now this is how tacos are done. Delicious meats topped with lettuce, cilantro, and queso fresca on two warm corn tortilla shells. We tried the al pastor and carne asada, both delectable. The salsas were also tasty, especially the guac salsa. A must try – you’ll be sure to go back for more! Friendly service.

I cannot describe my overjoyed surprise in discovering a Mexican place within twenty miles of my home. Additionally, the food here is based on the regional culinary legacy of Oaxaca. I’ve spent a fair share of my life in this southern state of Mexico. My palate often reflects on the flavors it took for granted while there. The tlyuda is decent. For its cost, it went a little skimpy on the queso(the centerpiece to the tlyuda) and it was strange having the carne asada diced on top of the plate as if it were a pizza. The shell was fabulous(AND I MEANFABULOUS), and the beans were decent(but weren’t black and this takes away from some of the flavors needed in this masterpiece). The tacos al pastor had generous proportions of ingredients. It was definitely missing the fire roasted smoky flavor they would have in Oaxaca, but they were still good. Faltaba la pina tmb. The horchata was good. I’d be so awesome if they could make tejate! As an American, this food was awesome. As a Mexican, there is room for improvement. Nonetheless, I’ll be a regular because in the middle of north Carolina one can’t be too picky… and I’m desperate for certain flavors. :-)

Fantastic! The wait was long but very well worth it. You should try the Tlayudas. Made on special tortillas shipped in from Mexico. The outdoor seating was nice because we had a breeze blowing. BEWARE — the address did not match the location when we were here. Was on 1501 Main Street.

Stopped in today for lunch. First, the bad… the interior of the restaurant is extremely small. The only place to stand while looking at the menu is right in front of the order counter and the trash cans. With orders going out to customers and other customers trying to throw trash away, we were forced to exit the building and stand outside while reading the menu. Once we had selected our food we re-entered the building and ordered. It was crowded so only go if you are willing to sit outside under the nice covered awning. Now for the good… my wife ordered asada tacos and I ordered the asada burrito plate. The tacos were simple but very tasty. No frills and no extras. It might be nice to toss in a couple chips on the side with some verde salsa. The burrito plate comes with two large burritos. One is enough for lunch so I took the second one home. The burrito was great. Highly recommend. I think I might have been expecting more with all the previous reviews but I can say I was not disappointed. Tacos Oaxaca is a solid place to eat but expect a crowd. Lastly, there seems to be three different addresses listed for the restaurant. The physical location is across from the Burger King at the hwy 210 intersection. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. It’s worth a drive or worth a stop in Lillington if you’re traveling between Fayetteville and the Raleigh area. They’ve got a great selection of items. We’ve stopped three times. Everything I’ve had is quality, tasty, and authentic. There isn’t much seating room, especially when it’s cold outside. I’ve only had to wait one time for an excessive amount of time, but it was very busy.

This tiny little shack in the middle of no-where is spitting out super authentic street style Mexican food. It’s impeccably clean inside and out and there is an outdoor seating area that smells of jasmine and rosemary. The menu was mostly in Spanish with English translation that includes gems like«friend pork» and«ground beer,» so you know it’s legit. Our entire meal for two people came out to less than $ 12. So aside from being fantastic, fresh food, it is also dirt cheap. This is the first Mexican joint we have found in the greater Fayetteville area turning out anything close to real, delicious Mexican food. We will be coming back again and again, despite the hour-plus drive to get there.
