If you’re a good golfer, with less than a10 handicap, you probably won’t make this your home course due to the fact that the fairways are mostly wide and straight, and the greens are unguarded by sand and only water on four holes. It is however, a nice walk in the country for many of us. I’m a member there, and enjoy the exercise associated with pushing my clubs for eighteen holes along with the occasional satisfaction of shooting in the 80’s. I used to get my exercise at the YMCA but, I’ve found It’s well worth the membership fees of $ 125.00 per quarter to avoid the boredom of a treadmill.

Here are some useful adjectives to describe Pine Burr: nice, cheap, flat, open, straight, friendly. This is a great course for the price. No frills. Par 72. Not a lot of water. Exactly zero sand traps. I’ve never reserved a tee-time because I’ve never needed to make one. Just show up and pay your $ 18 or whatever. There’s no discount for only golfing 9 holes BUT your greens fees allow you free replays for the rest of the day! The dress code is pretty lax from what I’ve seen. I feel weird golfing in «non-golf clothes» but I’ve seen jeans and t-shirts out on the course. Not a big deal, just trying to paint an accurate picture for you. They have a Facebook page and they’re pretty active. They have golf trivia every week or two. Winner gets a free round of golf.

This is really a two star little country course south of Fuquey, North Carolina., but I just had to give it one more. I just stopped for an 18 hole walk and to kill a little time. The pluses were — very inexpensive, easy to walk, no crowds, friendly owners/operators who appear to live in the back of the clubhouse. Had a very nice relaxing afternoon here. As I was getting ready to leave, the sheriff pulled drove in and pulled his clubs out of his squad car. Laid back area — Hey, it’s rural North Carolina.
