The Safeway store is brand new but the employee in the parking lot was like asking for a death wish my dad was driving in the parking stall the employee starts to try to push the carts in front of the car while we’re parking

As much as I love this Safeway, I could not give them 5 stars! One reason would be, every time I’ve gone to the Deli to get a sandwich, their deli workers don’t know how to make the sandwich ordered, and almost always when making the sandwich, they don’t have one ingredient or another. Then another reason, is that on 2 different occasions I have bought their ready-cut fruit for lunch, finding that ALL the fruit in the bowl, were bitter, way too bitter to eat. I tossed the practically full bowls in the trash. Then finally today, I had gone to Safeway several times in search of ready-cut mango, well low and behold, apparently there was mango, I will, however, praise the worker that was handing out parfait samples this morning(1÷21÷2016), for telling me where they were, because if I had walked there myself I would have never known, since the mango bowls were laid flat, so you could not see what they were, making for a bad marketing strategy. All in all I I have had a great experience in this locale, but I do tend to tread a little lightly in these departments.

Love the store. BUT Don’t go making a sandwich at the deli counter… you’ll be there your whole lunch break. Waited about 10 minutes for the person in front of me to have her sandwich made. I knew then i should just leave the line but i was next decided to stay. Then the worker literally took 30 minutes to make my sandwich. –_– I had no time to eat on my lunch break, by the time I reached the office I had to go back to work. If your break is more than an hour, you can chance it & go. I wouldn’t recommend it. The slowest sandwich making ever. Now I know why nobody is at that area at that specific time. PAINFULLYSLOW… LIKESLOTHS! I think sloths are faster at the speed I saw this worker going… –_– I will probably never even go during my days off. I’ll stick to making sandwiches myself. It’s faster.

Everytime I come to the new safeway I have to wait in line for about 10−15min to check-out. There are never enough registers open and there is no automatic check-out option either. Yes, the store is huge and clean, but waiting forever to pay is a huge disappointment.

very small organic produce and foods section; no automatic check out stands like at other safeway

Oh, Kauai! I love you! And I love your new Safeway, too! It’s fresh, it’s clean, and the help there is good and friendly! I’ve made multiple purchase here and can’t wait to return!

The best super market in Lihue. The place is huge. Great store, has everything you need, great produce, and is open 24⁄7.

This supermarket is huge, organized, and has everything that you will be looking for. They also have a small section that sell flowers etc. I’ll come back here again for items that I need during my travel.

I’m so impressed with this Safeway location! We have been waiting for this location to open ever since we heard that Lihue was getting a Safeway. The layout is very similar to the Kapahulu Safeway. Even though Safeway prices can be a little high, my mother-in-law loves their section of organic fruits and vegetables. This is our new favorite place to grocery shop on Kauai!

Store is much bigger than Kapaa. Always go to $ 5 Fridays. It’ll be worth it. Load days are Tuesdays and Fridays. There’s also a Bank of Hawaii and a Starbucks in there. Pharmacy is located in the back and its much bigger than Kapaa. Fresh cut fruit and veggies are made in the produce department. So much selection of poke and meats inside case. Always have your club card to get your gas points.
