I got the fries and mushroom Swiss burger. The burger was nothing special but the garlic fries were pretty great. My only gripe wasn’t about the food but about the service. The woman helping me was rude and didn’t seem interested in checking up on me to see how my food was. In fact I had to go to the counter twice to ask for a refill on my water. Overall it’ll be my last time coming here.

Ran here to get food on the way to the airport and was pleasantly surprised! It seems like a clubhouse on a golf course, but its just a little café with good food at a very reasonable price(which can be hard to find!). Tuna melt was good, and so was the breakfast burrito, which had just a little kick to it to make it interesting.

Came for breakfast and ordered the French toast. Service was fast, food was pretty good. The bacon wasn’t the best I’ve ever had and I probably wouldn’t order it again but overall it’s a decent spot.

Nothing too fancy but service is great, portions are good & food is delicious. One of our«go to» spots on Kauai.

Best French toast I’ve had in a long time. They use Hawaiian sweet bread, cut very thick, taste is so Ono, very moist and eggy, with fresh pineapple and strawberry, excellent taste and presentation. The potato burrito and breakfast sandwich was good and side of bacon was crisp, not fatty nor burned, just right. Price is very reasonable for island food. Highly recommended for breakfast.

Small café on golf course in Lihue. Good menu, GREAT french toast breakfast. Taste was great but quality of strawberries on top was poor. They were bruised and I like my fruit fresh. The pancake syrup jar was also sticky and had not been cleaned in a while. Service was fast it was not too busy in there but could be a tad more friendly because in my opinion customer service with a smile makes a world of a difference anywhere you go! I would come back for the french toast. My kids liked their pancake and eggs.

Food was alright. Not special, not fast, but tasted okay. Wish I could say more positive things, but I can’t.

I read everyone else’s reviews so came here excited. But left so disappointed. Food was bland. It was so greasy it dripped down our hands and faces. Everything was so gross. Our server would walk away in the middle of us talking to her. I actually gave them a 2 and then had to come back and change it to a 1 as I looked down in time to see the mold on my strawberry. Very very disappointing.

Breakfast is my favorite meal and as much as I love Kauai, there are not many great breakfast places We are always trying for a new breakfast«find» especially as some of our old favorites are out of business. We were really happy with Ho’okipa Café. It’s the perfect location for our weekly trip to Costco(almost right behind it). Service is great, prices are good and the french toast is the best on the island. It’s made with ice cream so how could it not be good? The breakfast sandwich was good, a bit greasy, but hey, it’s breakfast! Enjoy!

Incredible value. Less than $ 6 for a large breakfast sandwich. Very friendly staff and excellent service. On golf course property, surrounded by the beauty of Kauai.

Small, unassuming restaurant on a golf course. We happened upon this place and decided to try it out. I wasn’t impressed with the view or ambiance really– it needs work. I would’ve thought that being on a golf course with mountains in the background, it would’ve been designed to have a better view/experience. Hence, my subtraction of a star. The service was friendly and good. I had the french toast– it was the best french toast I think I have ever had. Hands down. I want to replicate it at home somehow. They soak their homemade Hawaiian bread in vanilla ice cream instead of the traditional egg batter stuff. So delicious! My husband enjoyed his meal as well but not as much as I did. It was a good find and I would go back for the french toast. If I had had something else to eat, I have a feeling I probably would take it or leave it as a spot to hit up.

Great breakfast! The French Toast was excellent. Eggs benedict was nicely done, and we enjoyed the spicy bloody mary. Prices were very fair. Do not choose if you are looking for scenic Kauai experience. It is located on a golf course with not a lot of ambiance. Server and staff were all very friendly, would highly recommend for breakfast.

This place is a little hidden gem. It’s actually on the golf course and it is delicious! We came for breakfast. My husband had the Locomoco and he loved it. Local beef, local eggs and you can’t go wrong. I had the corned beef hash with eggs. You could tell it was fresh and not canned! This place is delicious. Perfect spot to stop in for breakfast.

We live right across the street and discovered that this place from Unilocal so we thought we would check it out! We were hoping for breakfast, but totally our fault coming in at noon. Breakfast only served til 11am. I got the caesar with the Ono and bf got the club with garlic fries! The caesar was coated in dressing. And the Ono was over cooked. The club was cold when it came out even tho the bread looked toasted. Might of been sitting a bit before it came out. The garlic fries were awesome!!! But be warned… The garlic they put over the fries has a lot of butter so be prepared for thAt. Pool of melted butter at the bottom. Very yummy tho! All and all a meh experience. The staff was very friendly, and we will give this place another shot for breakfast!

A nice surprise! Had breakfast and lunch here while visiting family. Food is great. Breakfast was the French Toast, which was so good. Anything soaked in vanilla ice cream has to be great. Yummy! For lunch I had the lunch special which was Korean chicken, rice, and macaroni salad. Chicken was so tasty. The serving was huge… more for dinner. Great service and location. Will definitely come back again.

First note, this café is on the grounds of the Puakea Golf Course. That’ll make it easier to find if you’re not a local. My wife and I had lunch here on a Tuesday at 12:30pm. The service was courteous and food came out fast. I had the grilled chicken and bacon ranch wrap with homemade chips and my wife had the Maui mushroom burger with fries. My wrap was really good. It was fresh and filling and the dill ranch dip was a great sauce. My wife’s burger was cooked to her requested medium-well. Our only complaint was that on the burger, the cook must’ve grilled it on the same surface or immediately after the special for the day: Capt Andy’s Ahi. The burger tasted unmistakably of fish. I had a bite and there was no denying the fishy taste. My wife doesn’t really care for fish, so she had a hard time eating her food. We docked one full star for that food prep mistake. Otherwise, we had a pleasant experience here. We’d definitely come back.

I’m shocked that this place has only 2 reviews so far. Yay for #3! Tucked away on the Puakea Golf Course in Lihue behind Costco and Kmart, this little gem of a café is awaiting your arrival! Mostly golfers come in here for a bite to eat, but anyone is welcome! Their menu prices include tax, probably to make it easier for golfers on the run ready to get back to the green. They have everything from a $ 9 hot plate daily special(linguini carbonara the day I went), and a $ 7 soup of the day(vegetarian chili with brown rice that day), to fish and chips, awesome burgers, delicious garlic fries, huge sandwiches, and decent service! If you’re tired of hitting up tip top, Dani’s, and Garden Island, check out this place. They take cards too!

My mom had her birthday party here in October. They were able to fit about 60 of us(indoor and outdoor seating). It was a tight fit, but everyone seemed to be comfortable and it was easy to mingle. They have a bar in the restaurant and cater the food. The food was a-mazing! We had pupu’s(won ton, poke, puakea chips, etc.). They were all VERY good. For the dinner buffet, we had rice(duh), fried noodles that were so good(I feel like they were cooked in bacon drippings and the flavor was fantastic), garlic butter steak — TODIEFOR!!! A MUSTHAVE!!!, korean chicken, and sweet potato salad. I may be missing an entrée, but the steak and noodles were my fave, hands down. We had an open bar and the bartenders were really nice! And of course the owner, Derek, was super nice and accomodating. We had a DJ. There was a dance floor area which was big enough for a bunch of us to boogie down. If you want to have a birthday party, dinner party or whatevs here, you SHOULDDEFINITELYDOIT! The food is awesome and the staff is awesome. Lovely location.
