This is your spot when visiting Lighthouse Point. The coffee was authentic, traditionally served. Everyone was very nice and the scones were melt in your mouth. Get the homemade ones from the back. Nice atmosphere: chairs and couches and a reading area. Unassuming and really good. No Starbucks. This is your place

Daily Grind feels like an independently owned Starbucks, similar to most independent coffee shops I’ve visited in the south Florida area so far. For whatever reason, the people that run independent shops here don’t seem to have been to any of the other great homey feeling shops in the rest of the country. It is gently nestled into a strip mall so there is very little walk-up traffic, and the space seems cavernous for the number of people who might visit at any given time. The webbeams-operated wireless that expires every hour likely discourages long-term customers.

I drive by here quite frequently, as it is next door to my neighborhood Publix in Venetian Isles shopping plaza. I finally decided to stop by to grab a chai latte, since we’ve had such beautiful cool weather lately. This is a nice, clean, spacious coffee shop. They had some free samples of their pastries on their counter, and the sample of blueberry muffin I had was tasty(although I managed to resist the urge to buy a full one). The barista was friendly, and made a fantastic chai. I almost can’t believe it was nonfat milk, because it was delicious — far better than the chai from Starbucks(and the price was about the same). I’ll definitely be coming here instead of Starbucks from now on!
