Came by today and it’s closed. Called the number listed on Unilocal and it’s disconnected. Won’t miss the restaurant but will miss the stuffed pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon from the meat market.

Not good. I ordered a chopped beef sandwich, potato salad, banana pudding and tea. Sandwich had way too much(thick) sauce and a strange taste to it. Potato salad tasted like it was from wal-mart, and my banana pudding came with generic wafers in a ziplock on the side. I didn’t finish any of it. :(

First time and last time at Mike’s. The service wasn’t good and the food was worse. I told the lady at the counter this was our first time visiting, she looked at me with a blank look and said, «Ok.» I ordered the sampler plate which came with Pork Ribs, Brisket and Sausage. I ordered the potato salad and corn for sides. The ribs were tough and dry, the brisket was dry and both were tasteless. The BBQ sauce was average but still couldn’t help either meat in the flavor department. The sausage is made on site with real casing and is average on a taste meter. I recommend staying away from Mike’s.

Just moved into town and have been sampling the local stores. I was really hungry for breakfast so a friend and I stopped by around 10 to see what was up. They did have a breakfast menu so we ordered a simple eggs meat biscut dish. 3 minutes later it was ready, OK. We sat down and opened our containers to find old nasty food that was barely warm and was most likely cooked up hours ago. We both had a few bites and discarded the rest in the trash. 30 minutes later both of us were puking our guts out. Well that’s the story on breakfast. I will go back and try the BBQ and the meat market and keep you updated. Mike, you really need to get on that breakfast and fix it.

The best chop beef ever and top it off with a large sweet tea. They now have breakfast too.

I agree with the previous posts; The Meat Market ROCKS but the ‘Cue and the Service were POOR at best. I live only minutes from Mike’s and we don’t go there to eat anymore … at all. On our last trip: The place was empty besides us and it was noon on a wednesday. The teenagers working there were friendly enough I suppose and the only adult present was a lady who wasn’t rude but was so standoffish that she came off much less than friendly(which is really weird for Texas) and after we were served(which took 15 – 20 minutes … weird for ‘Cue) we saw no one… no one. It’s like they were hiding from us. I went to the counter to ask for something for my wife and couldn’t get a response, at all … we finished eating and left. We won’t go back; ever.

For a BBQ joint it’s weak at best, as a meat market this place rocks ! You must buy the raw Jalapeño Pork Sausage then go cook it up, eat it up and listen to eyes roll around in your head. 5 stars for the sausage 5 for the Market 2 star for the Q Raw bacon wrapped pork loins a signature item we plan for. During deer season they will dress your kill and proccess it for you. Huge Harley Fans with lots of parking

I’ve only ordered from the menu once or twice, and it’s just okay. The real prize is the meat market — everything is fresh and fabulous. Thick cut steaks that I love to serve guests. And they make stuffed/rolled pork tenderloins with various fillings — jalapeño cream cheese, cornbread stuffing, cajun something — that are fantastic on the grill or in the oven. AND you can order a freezer pack of 20 pounds of meat. It’s perfect for my family of four!
