Best bacon in town! We’ve lived in the Kenwick neighborhood for just about a year and found Wilson’s early on. We buy farm fresh eggs and some of the best bacon I’ve ever had. I’ve never had their other meats, but others I know rave about the steaks, etc. You can also buy a quick and affordable lunch from the butcher. The service is always friendly and entertaining. I’m pretty sure they are family owned, which is an added bonus. If you like supporting local businesses, this is one you should add to your list!

I’m almost reluctant to give this place a great review because I’d like to keep it my little secret… but that would be unfair. If you want to buy meat, this is the place to go. It’s the best quality, most reasonably priced butcher in the city. Friendly too! I would drive out of my way to go here.

The kind of place that every neighborhood should have. I stopped by here on my search to visit all of the local groceries. I had a turkey sandwich, which I do not recommend. The turkey seemed to be more processed or packaged than what you get from a usual deli and it was on regular, thin sandwich bread. The produce was very limited and didn’t appear to be very fresh, but maybe I caught them on an off day. None the less, I wish that my neighborhood had a place like this and I hope that everyone in the area knows about this place.

Sure, I am a bit of a homer on this one, but I am also a bit of an a-hole slash snob when it comes to food and drink. So that evens it out I suppose. Alls I know is, when I am hankering for some tater-tots(what kind of snob goes for tater tots?) and it isn’t yet 8:30 in the pee em, I know what’s happenen’. I do mind paying extra for a six pack, but I do it anyway, and recently they had Sam Adams Noble Pils, and that got my trumpet tooting. And then there is item X, which I covet and am always hopeful for, and it keeps me coming back. Item X is among the surprising selection of produce, which I have come to rely upon. Do I wish they had more local produce, a better and less pricey beer selection, better cheese, and good locally baked bread? How cool is it to have a real bona fide grocery in your own neighborhood? Kenwick rocks.

This store is a gem of a find in the Kenwick neighborhood here. Sure, they sell beer, cigs, lottery, candy etc. However, Wilson’s also serves made to order deli sandwiches for under 3 bucks and, if you are a steak lover like I am, they have the freshest Rib Eyes around. I love this place. It’s walking distance for me but even if it weren’t I’d still come here. They have a full services butcher shop, they cook holiday stuff for you and so much more. The staff is down home and friendly and everytime my dog comes with me they give her a treat. Service, quality steaks and selection make me glad this place is not only a hidden gem, but so close by. Enjoy.
