Verona Pizza

Very, very good. The pesto pizza my roommate ordered was absolutely delicious (might have stolen a slice), and I’m pretty sure I ascended to heaven with the cheesecake. The Philly steak sandwich was a little burned on the bottom, and a little soggy on the top, and was overwhelmingly the weak link, but overall it was a VERY good experience, especially for delivery, and I will def order again.

Best pizza in Lexington. Being from New Jersey, Verona is really the closest thing to home. Even the atmosphere reminds me of the mom-​pop pizza places all through out NJ. The taste of the pizza brings me back to my childhood.

This pizza is the best pizza here in Lexington. Authentic New York style. Everything was absolutely perfect.

We stopped here on our way to the Smokey Mountains AND on our way back because we loved it so much. Delicious!!! Being from NY nothing tastes good to me but NY style pizza and this place has it Right! Definetly a must try, esp for New Yorkers like myself. YUMS!

I have tried a couple more things and have to lower my review. The best things about Verona Pizza are the service from the nice man that works there and the crust on the pizza and the calzone. That crust is delicious! But really, everything else is rather bland. I tried a veggie calzone and could barely taste it — there was no flavor. I also tried the meat lasagna it is was also lackluster — I definitely wouldn’t get that again. I would stick with the pizza and maybe plan to add something to it for a little extra flavor.

We love their classic pizza! I am not a beer sampler but they have a large variety and their prices are responsible. It is a great place to eat and stare out at Triangle Park. Romantic

We all love getting a coupon and good deals. But this pizza place doesn’t let you redeem them. Last week my boyfriend called and ordered 2 calzones (there about 15 $ a piece!) He had a coupon email for «spend 20 $ get 10 $ off». But it was on his computer. I told the girl on the phone I didn’t have a physical copy and did not own a printer. She said it was ok and they would honor the coupon. I go pick up the food, it’s late at night and I’m the only one in there. She took my card and ran it really fast. 31 $ was the total… I told her we spoke about the coupon and she said «But I already ran the card…»
She then told her father *store manager* about what happened and he said my coupon was expired. I kept telling him that I was given permission without a copy and showed him the email… So I sat down and what did I find at my table ?
A 10 $ off coupon. So I took it up to them ! He then produced to tell me that’s only available if I order off a specific website. I was so frustrated I took my food and left. Ten steps to my car I new, I should have gotten a full refund and left. We get coupons to try new food and maybe go back. The food was also SOAKED in oil and butter.

It’s hard to believe this is the same establishment I previously reviewed.
The pepperoni pizza crust bottom was soggy wet with oil. Oil everywhere.
I was looking forward to the Philly cheesesteak pizza. LOL
It should be renamed the green bell pepper pizza. There was a very scant smattering of what I assume is a steakum type product. YUCK
At $ 14 for 12″ pizza I had higher expectations. Again, the bottom crust was soggy. Not greasy, just wet.
One star is for the extra fresh garlic I requested on the philly. Even that couldn’t save it.
Never again.

Love that they put ricotta in their calzones! The spinach and ricotta pizza is my favorite. The guys who run the place are very friendly, too. Best NY style pizza in the area!

Was reluctant to deliver this review after a single visit, but choice I have not. Was simply too charmed and too satisfied with the exceedingly good pie. The final nudge came from having a moment ago reheated two left over slices (in a skillet, dammit, don’t you even think of nuking it) from last nights conquest and eureka moment. And jc this schnitt is the schnizzle. Not going to indulge all the favorable comparisons to jersey pie, nor going to trumpet it’s superiority to all other pizza in lex — maybe (just maybe) a bit premature for all the superlatives. What I will do though is return, salivating and wide eyed with the tongue hanging out like a deranged and starving pizza crazed beast.

Food was delivered hot and fresh! Huge portions! This will be my new delivery place. Not a fan of chain restaurants and Verona is not. A must try in the Lexington area.

First, I’d like to say that I have never had a bad meal here and we go very often at work.
A co-​worker, on the other hand, did have an issue with the Ravioli. It was a bit burnt. The owner made it right, though, and offered him a free meal to make up for it.

I ordered a calzone and a cheese pizza with the hopes of this place being good. After Brooklyn pizza closed on this side of town I was missing my NY style pizzeria. This place fits the bill. The calzone was big and full of cheese which is important. The cheese pizza was great, my six year old even enjoyed it. I can’t wait to try some of his sandwiches.

Just tried this pizza for the first time today. It’s delicious! The toppings seem to be of good quality and the crust is real pizza crust, probably homemade. I love the atmosphere of this place, feels like a local big city pizzeria. I only did a pick up but the owner seems very nice and friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be back to explore more of the menu and recommend! Oh, also they have a great lunch deal; 2 slices of pizza (1topping incl.) and a soda for $ 4.99 I asked which toppings (like only cheese or pepperoni) are available and he said any topping and extra toppings are a dollar which leads me to believe they are made to order slices, which is awesome!

Exceptional pizza. Delicious crust. I ordered a pepperoni specialty pizza that had triple pepperoni. I asked for easy on the sauce and that is the way it came.
The same two men are there each time I go. They are friendly and really appeciate positive remarks about their food. I love it when people take pride in their work. Close by is another great privately owned restaurant, The Athenian Grill. I like to get pizza from Verona AND lamb or pork souvlaki skewers grilled over a wood fire from Athenian Grill. The combination is heavenly. Have fun.

This place is better than any other pizza place in Lexington. Real down home feel portions are amazing. They really take care of the customer. Try the spaghetti

Wow, just wow. Just like Bryan W. said, these guys know what they are doing with a pie!

Food: I got the lunch special (two slices and a coke). It seemed like they warmed up the pizza from the previous night. Did not taste fresh at all. The flavor wasn’t bad but it just wasn’t fresh.
Staff: I talked with the guy who runs the place while waiting on my food, he seemed like a great guy which was nice.

Stop ordering Little Caesars for pizza night and go here!
Had a short conversation with the guys running the place. Seem like good guys and they absolutely know what they are doing. Pizza is great. Thinner than the chain pizzas with quality ingredients.
We had two pizzas and a calzone. The calzone was huge and used large fresh veggies.
We will be back soon. Probably for lunch tomorrow to try a sandwich.
Another customer interrupted my conversation with the guys making the pizza so he could tell them how good his meal was before he left!
Go out and support these guys. Need to keep this place around.
