Wow. This is a Jem. Have a friend who runs golden pig in pittsburgh area and felt like same atmosphere and authenticity. A little confusing to find but worth the search, in lexington of all places. Located within an asian grocery store in the back. They also have hot Saki which is one of my favorite drinks in winter.

What a gem of a little place! Went for the Ramen, which came with two sides. The hot flavorful broth was just what I needed today. The large bowl of Ramen — noodles, greens, a big slice of pork and a halved hard boiled egg — was like a warm, fuzzy blanket. A drizzle of their house-made hot sauce added a wonderful sweet heat. Had I been alone in the restaurant, I would have picked up the bowl and slurped down the broth, but I kept at it with the spoon until there wasn’t a drop left. I liked the idea of the«bamboo» shades offering some privacy at tables, since the place is so small.

Absolutely fantastic! I got the Korean dumplings and the spicy squid dish with the name that isn’t spicy squid dish and a hot tea. The tea was genmaicha. My favorite part was the banchan! It came with 10 and I’m not even Korean! They were all tasty! The squid was plentiful and came with all kinds of veggies. Perfectly seasoned with that general delicious spicy Korean sauce. The server was also very nice. We talked quite a bit and he gave me some recommendations for next time. I’m defiantly going back. Like every other day.

As always the food was excellent and I can’t wait to come back for their Sushi. Back again today for lunch, Rainbow Roll and good conversation with Shan.

This place is a really solid find. I enjoyed the food at the location on South Broadway while I was a student at UK. This is reasonably priced, fresh, and pleasingly made sushi. Now that I found out the chef moved to the Dong Yang location on Clays Mill, I made a point to swing by and try Seki where it is now. The sushi is still Seki sushi: happy food and happy expenses. The great part about it is that the location, even at the back of the grocery store, is a calm and clean atmosphere. It feels private, it’s easy to relax. It also has an expansive and rather impressive Korean food menu(which is what this place is known for. I’m just a K sushi fangirl). I’m definitely coming back to try the jajung myun.

Nice server. The room has been remodeled/reconfigured in the past year, so it looks more like a restaurant but you can still see and hear grocery shoppers outside. We visited during lunch time. Outside temperature was close to 90. Inside the dinning room(with the ceiling fans on) was at least 76 and feels stuffy. Not very comfortable even for someone like me who usually wear a sweater as long as it’s under 80°. There was no music and only three tables including ours. So it was quiet but easy to hear conversations at nearby tables. Food: I found it quite pricey for lunch: all entrees(except for two that are on the lunch special menu) are charged for dinner prices only. Beef bibimbap is $ 12. It is tasty and the portion is big but I would rather pay less for a much smaller portion that one could possibly finish. The dish(whose name I forgot) with vermicelli noodles with beef and vegetables have 80% noodles and is rather heavy. Overall: It is not bad but there are better options in town.

If you don’t know that it’s in the back of a grocery store, it is very easy to miss this place! Decent size menu of many Korean favorites. They serve you a good selection of banchan(small pickled veggies) with your meal. Good bulgogi and bibimbap. I also had the kimchi soup– deliciously sour! yummmy! Good service and quality. Simply put– you need to visit this place!!!

This is a hidden(literally) gem, as it’s located in the back of Dong Yang Asian market. The atmosphere is casual, and the restaurant is clean. The food is great compared to other Korean restaurants in town – it’s authentic, portions are generous, and everything is freshly prepared. My favorite dish is their kimchi jiggae, which is a hot and spicy kimchi stew served with rice. Their fried pork belly and kimchi is also very delicious(it’s currently offered on their daily special menu). For a mild dish, I recommend the chop chae, which is a mixed vegetable noodle entrée. Also, when we eat Korean food, we love to have kim bop as an appetizer(seaweed rolls filled with rice, vegetables, and meat). Kim bop is not on the menu, but you can buy it at the Dong Yang cash register up front and then take it into Seki and eat it there as your appetizer. Overall, if you’re looking for tasty, authentic and freshly prepared Korean food, be sure to try Seki!

Best Korean I’ve had in Lexington. I’ve been here a few times now and I’m more impressed each time. The food isn’t as sweet as some of the other Lexington Korean restaurants which is a huge plus for me! Portions are huge, food is great and staff is nice. Great place

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in/within a 30min drive of Lexington! It’s in the back of a Korean grocery store and they have the BEST Korean food! And actually better than most places in Chicago. What I love about this place? Awesome staff! They’re really good about not keeping the customer waiting. And of course they have really good food! Every dish also comes with panchan(little cold dishes)! Dishes I’ve tried so far(seafood pancake(good), dumplings(just the right crispy-ness), tofu appetizer(yum), bulgolgi(big portion; small pieces; very savory), denjenjigae(tofu bean paste soup; not spicy which is good for me [I can’t do spicy]; very tasty), chap chae(one of my fav), jajanmien(black bean paste noodle with potatoes, cucumbers and shrimp), and stone bowl bibimbap(classic!). And if u like bulgolgi and tofu soup, the seki k dinner is a great value! It’s my go to order. And I come here a LOT! The staff can confirm that — pretty much every week. And as a plus, you can get some Asian groceries after dinner! The only thing is that they don’t accept AmEx credit cards. I highly highly recommend this place!!!

Tucked in the back of Dong Yang Market(a great Asian grocery), Seki K is run by the owners who took over the venerable Seki sushi restaurant on S. Broadway. While the identical name is confusing, the Korean menu here is well above average. Aside from a well executed lineup of typical offerings like bulgolgi, japchae, & pajun, Seki offers THE best banchan in the city. The little tiny plates of mostly pickled cold dishes are spectacular. From the spicy fermented kimchi to the sweet chewy fishcake, I could make a meal out of just banchan(of which you get 10 plates) and rice. In fact, their daily lunch special($ 7) is just that plus a clear tofu stew. I am happy to live in a town with 4 Korean restaurants. Now, if we could only get a good phở shop…

This place is conveniently located in the back of the Dong Yang Market. Eat then shop!!! Each dish is made fresh and comes out piping hot. The menu is streamlined with some of the most popular Korean dishes in America. I really like this as it keeps the choices simple. This should also allow for fresher ingredients by keeping the number required on hand to be smaller. It also helps with the consistency of the food as the Cook can concentrate on doing a smaller number of dishes perfectly. A daily lunch special is also available.

This place was hard to find but its a gem, Pretty good variety of dishes and the soups are rich and robust. They send out all the accoutrements with your meal even with the daily lunch special. There’s one soup that I have not found anywhere else that’s beef short ribs green onion and radishes. This was delicious and unique with the addition if the radishes. Great place to get take out also!!!
