Sagar is an excellent India market. Their prices are much better than a chain grocery. It’s the go to place for spices (including fresh curry leaves delivered on Thursday’s), rice and naan! The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Went in to get supplies for an attempt at Biryani… The owner was so helpful and didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need. Gave great advice on how to execute the actual cooking too! I will definitely be back!

Good selection of spices, the place needs organization and some cleaning up though. Had a small bit of produce some green mangos and peppers. On a bright note there were some prepackaged sauces that were msg free ! This place is small and needs to be categorized and spiffed up some. But it has all the spices and selection of snacks

What a disappointment. When we lived in another city there were two great Indian markets nearby and I had gotten accustomed to buying breads, grain, and spices there. Upon moving to Lexington I found a listing for the Sagar Market so even though it was across town I checked it out. It was not easy to find, buried in a neighborhood in a crummy strip center between a vacant Bingo Parlor and a Kung Fu Studio. Discovered the hard way that their hours are noon to 8pm. It was close to noon so I waited and that turned out to be a waste of time. They had very little merchandise inside, and many of the packages were quite dusty. It was clear they don’t sell much, or expect to. I can certainly see why.
