I love the salads here. One of my top 3 places to get a salad in Lexington. The ranch is amazing! The junior calzone is really good too.

The service was excellent. The food was pretty awful. I got the campfire based on someone else’s review. It said it had sausage and an onion chutney on it. The sausage was a nasty hot dog cut up. The onion was basically sugar with a bit of onion flavor. It was sweet and disgusting. The bread that came with my dinner companions pasta was a flavorless carb bomb. I will go back and try something else but I was so not impressed.

I can’t say enough about the service… excellent outstanding amazing!!! I had a graduation party on Friday night and pre-planned everything with Matt. When we all arrived everything was perfect from the service to room set up to the amazing food! Thanks for a special night! We will continue to be «regulars»

I came here as an out-of-towner for the Horse Capital Marathon, I thought I was going to a decent Italian restaurant in Lexington. I have to say, I’m sure there are better Italian restaurants out there. This is a more family style restaurant and there is no bar and I’d consider Puccini’s a good place for taking the kids out for pizza. As I walked around Chevy Chase afterward, I was kicking myself because there are better restaurants within walking distance. I tried the chicken fettuccini dish, which was reasonably priced, but it was average at best. It came with a salad and garlic bread, which was only three small pieces. I needed more bread, but found and they charge extra for getting more. The service was unacceptable. The server did not clear my plates as my salad bowl wasn’t cleared even after I finished my main entre. As a matter of fact, nothing was cleared when I left. I didn’t even get a water refill nor did I get asked if I wanted anything else. She simply gave me my check when I finished my pasta.

Since my last review, I’ve visited another time or two and have received the same great service as before. The dining area was clean and well kept, and great for kids as well. I had a «Meatball Heaven» calzone, and it was absolutely awesome. Piping hot, the steam was rolling off when it was brought to the table and the wait staff kept on top of drink refills. I’m normally pretty tight on tipping, but they definately earned a good tip this time. Thumbs up, I’ll be back!

I have heard(and read) several good reviews in the past about Puccini’s pizza but had never tried it until tonight. I ordered a medium ‘Sweet Little Razorback’ which consists of pepperoni, smoked sausage, bacon, with basil and garlic. The toppings were plentiful and certainly tasty but with any pizza, the crust is the foundation that brings it all together. I must admit that I was somewhat surprised that the crust was mediocre and unremarkable at best. Simply put, I wish it had been better. But it is what it is. Bland and somewhat chewy. So the next time I return to Puccini’s I’ll stick with ordering the Chicken Piccata pasta or the Sicilian Sausage sandwich. I’ll reserve my pizza orders for other establishments in town.

Puccini’s is a down-home red sauce Italian-American joint out of the New Jersey mold. All the standards are there: linguine with clams(red or white), penne with vodka sauce, calzones and pizza, etc. They’re all relatively well done and best-in-state(though a touch below the East Coast standard), with certain dishes standing out(like their amazing garlic bread). Portions are large and prices are relatively low. The ambiance is certainly family oriented, with the welcome area decorated by the scribbles of their many kid patrons and children playing happily around the tables of their families. Not the place you would necessarily have a intimate personal moment, but if you want that kind of date you can head to a more upscale after-dinner lounge. Recommended.

I LOVE Puccini’s. They have good prices, delicious food and lots of gluten-free choices. Everything I have had has been great!

I hate to give two stars but my experience tonight was unacceptable. When I showed up with my kids and another family for dinner the hostess refused to seat us or even put us on a waiting list. Her exact words were, «we don’t have room for you». There were empty tables in the restaurant and she wouldn’t even entertain the idea of helping us. The pizza is awesome so it is really disappointing the service doesn’t measure up to the same standard. We ended up at the manger next door. Good food and service!

The best pizza is the ‘King of Hearts’. Good for carry out. The dress and appearance of some of the employees is unprofessional and can even be a bit off putting. Some are way too grungy with multiple piercings, tattoos, unnatural dyed hair colors, t-shirts and torn jeans. Not too appealing to see while dining in, so I recommend carry out.

Great menu, yummy food. Lots of gluten-free options, too. We had pizzas and the spinach artichoke appetizer. All were very tasty and just what we needed after a long drive in from NC. Cute art on the walls and friendly service. Top choice if I ever visit this area again.

Great Food! We love the pizza and the service is amazing! The staff is very accommodating. My wife and I got a half and half pizza her half was the Bama Jam and my half the Bill. Even though2 very different pizza’s they both were wonderful. Great kids menu as well. Probably one of the best pizza restaurants in Lexington

As long as I have been in Lexington and as much as I go out to eat not sure how I have left this off my list. I did grow up on LaRosa’s in Cin so that might have kept me away. Any who, I have been craving some good Italian and not the fancy style like most around here. So I gave Joe B’s a try, nope, then I tried here. Hooked, you got me and my business. This nights meal was very good, I will be back.

Tasty food here! I love the pizza crust(not so thin that it’s crispy, not so thick that it’s bready) and the variety of toppings. The large size pizza is bigger than average. Last time we ordered 3 large for 7 people and had way too much food. If you’re not in the mood for pizza(like when has that ever happened?) they also have tasty pastas. The service is always great whether you’re dining in or picking up.

Good, friendly service. Very happy to have gluten-free options… thank you! But, one regular(not gluten-free) entrée, the Pasta Primavera, was more like a soup due to the excessive amount of oil… nearly ¼″ deep in the bottom of the bowl, so much that I could not eat the pasta and veggies that were drowned in the deep oil. I would think that this was just a one-time mistake. Overall, our visit was nothing spectacular, but not bad. We will likely return so that my wife can enjoy more gluten-free options.

We aren’t certain why this location has not received consistent five stars? My profession is restaurants(6 locally-owned in another state, from fine dining multi-course artful cuisine to gastropubs). Puccini’s Chevy Chase is our favorite place in Lexington. Jeremy is an absolutely wonderful server and extraordinary guide to the menu. Ask for him! No, of course, it’s not The French Laundry or Charlie Trotter’s. But we can’t understand what other reviewers missed, when the calzones are the best we’ve had outside NY or NJ(don’t miss the Queen of Hearts, if you love artichokes and acidity, and have a glass of Sauv Blanc with it). For pizzas, try the Campfire(really tastes like a campfire smells, but you may want to add a little jalapeño for«bite» because the onion marmalade is a little bit sweet). Great choices include the Razorback for carnivores, Twice-Baked(imagine a twice-baked potato), and the classic Margherita. If you read the rest of the reviews, you might or might not come here. Not sure what people wanted — Pizza Hut? But if you want great food, good service, good value, and an easy, relaxed atmosphere, DON’T MISS Puccini’s Chevy Chase location.

I thought for the longest time that this place was a dentist’s office. Can we please address the fact that this establishment is ridiculously named? I believe their tag line is something along the lines of «your teeth should be happier after eating here.» Just, wtf? Ok, preposterous name aside, this place has horrible pizza that definitely does not make your teeth happy. In fact, I would go so far as to say that it made my teeth very UNhappy. The pizza tasted cheap, like the kind you get from the frozen section at Walmart and microwave at home. However, the breadsticks were what really perturbed me. I have never experienced such tasteless, doughy breadsticks in my life until now. I was not quite convinced that they had actually been baked — that’s how pasty white and doughy they were. No amount of marina sauce could help these rolled up pieces of homemade play dough. Avoid.
