Ocean View Seafood

The service was rude from beginning to end. The hostess asked us «How many?» in the most deadpan voice imaginable, and couldn’t muster a smile. Our waitress was quite young and could not have been less interested in serving our party. She placed our plates onto the table and fled immediately, so fast we couldn’t request condiments or anything else. We had to practically beg this waitress for refills, and she barely visited our table throughout the meal. I would’ve put her name here but of course she never introduced herself and they don’t wear name tags-​big surprise! If I had seen a manager in sight, I would have brought all this to their attention, but they were hiding somewhere. Food was average at best. I have been here many times before tonight and I can tell you confidently that every time I have come here, the employees are clearly unhappy, not to mention inattentive. Management, please take notice of this, treat your staff better or at least replace the ones who don’t respect your customers. Two stars because the food isn’t terrible.

Sam at Ocean View is awesome I look forward to seeing her smiling face when I pick up my to-​go orders every week.

Deep fried seafood, that taste like mush! The service was excellent, however we just couldn’t get over the poor quality of the food. We won’t be going back.

Simply the most bang or the buck in this area.
Spend alot of time in the High Rock area, and this is a must everytime we come up here.

place smells damp, seafood is fried and tasteless (no seasoning at all). asked for a knife that was sharp because food was so hard to cut, did not get one, wanted real butter for mashed potatoes was told the oil spread was butter. parking lot is always full portions are large, just don’t understand the appeal.

The place was clean and neat, the waitress was friendly and polite, the food was good, and the prices were fair, (a little better than fair).
Will be back if we are ever in this area again.

Great little (not so little inside) family dinner place. Clean, great service, good food, ample portions, options beyond fried seafood. We were very pleased and I would not hesitate to come again.
Helpful hint; save some time for a nap after dinner.

We found this restaurant while taking a weekend drive to see High Rock Lake. It looked like our kind of place but it was closed. We came back yesterday for dinner and found we were absolutely right! Inside the restaurant they have a water feature that was neat, along with a casual nautical theme typical of most seafood restaurants. It was clean and we were seated quickly. The waitress was nice and attentive to our needs. My wife ordered the large two item combination of fried catfish and clam strips and I had the two item half size combination of perch and clam strips. We were given a bowl of hushpuppies to snack on while we waited, which were tasty. Our meal arrived soon after hot and fried to perfection. The large combination was huge and even the half size was a plenty, so we both took home leftovers. The prices were on par with the same meal at any other seafood restaurant we have dined at. It was a great experience overall and we will definitely return!

The last time I visited the restaurant I basically got to build my own platter due to my allergies and dislike for coleslaw. I probably should have written a review. But this time I couldn’t substitute the coleslaw for hush puppies or get the large platter without one of the choices (because I’m allergic to it). I would rather have a customer spend more than tell them no we can’t substitute for your allergy, but the loss is on them. I guess that policy works but I won’t be pressed to visit again for a while. I might drive to Greensboro and visit Libby Hill instead.

Lexington has come a long way with restaurant choices, but this one seems to keep the seafood option locked down.
The restaurant is a little old, but it is pretty clean. The dining room is heavily lit, and is very open.
The special was flounder and popcorn shrimp, and it was tasty. The service was quick, and the staff seemed nice enough.
If traveling through, or you are lucky enough to have relatives in good old Lexington –I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.

Just got seafood platter, cant say enough about this place, good service, laid back atmosphere. Went there after spending the day on High Rock Lake fishing. A local fisher lady told us about it. I currently live in Maryland and in my opinion this place had better to offer as far as seafood. The seafood platter size looks as if it came off the set of MAN vs Food, and for only $ 10.30… I forgot to post this review, but was talking about this place to a co worker. It’s definitely worth a trip to if in the local area.

Great food. The fish is very fresh. Very clean casual restaurant.

Since the tornado came thru we have to travel a little farther to eat seafood. Our local spot was damaged and won’t be opened for several months. My wife wanted a bowl
oyster stew, I had a craving for some shrimp. All though we never viewed the ocean any
where we did get something caught from it. Once in the door we where seated very quickly. This place was crowded. I think if it could swim or walk they cook it. A bowl of
hush puppies were brought out to our table with our drinks. A salad bar, blooming onion,
shrimp cocktail was one of many appetizers could be had before than main dish. My wife’s oyster stew was a huge bowl, very hot but had little bitty oyster’s which I ate for her. She just like’s the stew. My shrimp plate was good and a plenty. Most plates looked pretty full we saw being delivered. I work near by, sometimes we get a family pack from here. 20 pcs baby flounder, 6 baked potato’s, a box of hushpuppies and a bag of slaw, tarter sauce, butter and sour cream. Not a bad deal for 20 bucks. we’ll feed 10 to 11 people off of 2 orders easily. Good family style atmosphere, good service. good food.
