Giving one star because there’s not an option for zero stars. My mother took several pairs of boots to this establishment last week. The worst pair had some creasing at the toe when she took them in, true. But when she brought them home, there were huge pockmarks all over the boots where the material had been knocked off. Obviously the boots had been put through some sort of machine, there’s no way someone polishing them by hand would have continued with the second boot after knocking the material off the first one. After seeing the boots in that condition, the reasonable thing for the proprietor to do would be to call your customer and inform them of the problem, and confirm whether to continue with the other repairs. DIDNOTHAPPEN! Or, when the customer comes in to pick up their shoes, point out the problem and explain that it would be best not to repair the shoes. ALSODIDNOTHAPPEN! Instead, they charged my sweet elderly mother $ 15 for work that ruined the boots. When she went back today to complain, they told her that her shoes were pockmarked when she brought them in(NOPE!) and that they wondered why someone would want them repaired.(A professional proprietor would not wonder, they would tell you about their concerns when you brought the shoes in or call you as soon as they noticed.) After burning through most of her lunch break arguing with these horrible people, they finally gave her the $ 15 back(which they should never have charged her to begin with, not to mention then argued for nearly an hour about) and told her«Why don’t you go ruin somebody else’s day?» WHAT!!! Under no circumstance is it ever acceptable to say that to a customer, ever. Columbia is only 20 minutes away, with several professional shoe repair shops, take a drive and spend your money at one of those shops instead.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this repair shop. Brought in shoes that the cobbler in Irmo, on St. Andrews next to the Olé Timey Meat Market, and they completely destroyed! My shoes look brand new, and they are so pleasant & friendly and they want to know their customer!!! This was just a «test drive“‘ but I will take all my shoes here, and I will be their best source of advertisement!!!

I went in about 6 months ago to have my white Dansko shoes repaired and my husband’s leather leatherman holder repaired. My husband’s repair went fine. My Dansko’s not so much. They put too much polish on when trying to repair them. My shoes ended up cracking and splitting. When I want in to have them repair the damage that they caused they would not fix it. I would have had to have them strip the entire shoe and redo it. Was going to cost too much! They ruined my $ 150 shoes. I had to buy another pair! Do not go to this store they are unprofessional and have the potential to ruin your items and not fix it. Beware, that is what happened to me.
