Clean flavors. That is so seldom mentioned in reviews because you probably don’t notice that it happens everywhere else. Every dish is clean. The potatoes are seasoned and they are potatoes. Bacon isn’t the flavor carrier, they are potatoes: clean. The cake is the flavor of the cake rather than cane sugar used to mask sub par ingredients. To that end, the ingredients are real. I don’t get the feeling that anything came off the back of the Cisco truck.

Been here twice and both times were a home run. Had a hot brown in February which was amazing and also the blueberry pie which was ridiculously good. This time biscuits & gravy which was excellent. Lots of locals eating there which is always a good indication of a quality place. We’re from out of state and here for orientation at UK for our dtr. Will make sure we eat at the Lexington Diner each time we visit. Ann the owner served us. She was super nice — look forward to seeing her again in August when we drop our dtr off. And again in October for parents weekend. And again, well you get the point. Just go there — you won’t regret it.

Eat lunch here a lot and it’s so good, but their brunch is exceptional. I’m picky as Sally when Harry met her and they were more than accommodating as well as getting me to try new things. If you don’t eat here you’re missing out!

Cute diner in downtown Lexington! While I would love to try their breakfast menu, so far I’ve only been here for lunch. The décor was nice and simple — what I expected for the downtown diner. I dug it! The service was friendly. The food wasn’t the quickest, but it wasn’t a ridiculously long wait so nbd. My mom got the chicken and waffles, which I tried a bite of. So good! They really know how to make a waffle(more reason to come back for breakfast one day). I got the short street burger(burger w/provolone, bacon, caramelized onions, and chipotle ranch). The meat was a bit dry, but not bad. The toppings and flavor were all great! The Lexington diner seems to be a very solid spot in town. I can’t wait to come back from breakfast! It’s not the largest spot, so I’d beware of lines on the weekend, but it’s definitely worth the trip.

This restaurant was great! It’s a perfect location right downtown and it was so good! The sunrise burrito was delicious and the perfect amount of food. Also the home fries were crispy and amazing!

Pros: They use local ingredients, have nice servers and a great location. Cons: the food We went for brunch and the menu promised things the kitchen just couldn’t deliver. #1 bland chicken… tasted like that chicken you forget in the back of the fridge but end up cooking anyway #2 bacon was rubbery #3 french toast was just eggy soggy bread covered in chocolate sauce and cream *Isn’t french toast supposed to be bread soaked in egg mixture?* Yes! But this time it was a definite miss.

I got the Southern Charm Burger. The pimento cheese and bacon jam on it was unbelievable. Even being as busy as they were service was great. Definitely will be going back.

We went to the diner on Memorial Day because it was one of the only places open. When we went in there, it was packed! We ended up sitting at the counter because even the outside seating was full. We ordered breakfast. I got a garden omelet and my husband got the sausage biscuits and gravy. While we were there, they ran out of grits and sausage, so my husband ended up getting bacon. Despite the long wait for food, our waitress was very personable and we had a good time chatting and hanging in the diner. Because our food did take so long to get, they took 50% off of our bill, so it only cost $ 9! Still, $ 18 isn’t bad for two peoples’ meals and coffee. The food and service was absolutely wonderful, and we will definitely return to the Lexington Diner!

If you haven’t tried the Lexington Diner you have been missing out on fantastic opportunities. My goal is to have everything on the menu and I am well underway. from gourmet burgers to blackened fish to Southwest Eggrolls. There’s a meal for every taste here. Be sure to check out the specials and do so early. Today’s duck quesadilla was the bomb.

This morning, Paul and I had our pre-hike breakfast at Lexington Diner after the gods of probability(coin toss) directed us there. What I liked most was the service, which was super friendly and attentive. What I liked least was the chaotic atmosphere. There simply isn’t much room, so patrons are really crammed in. It’s a great place for social butterflies; it’s overwhelming for quieter folks. Paul ordered the Oscar omelette with a biscuit and spiced apples. He liked everything. I don’t care for seafood on an omelette, so it wasn’t for me. The apples looked anemic, but they tasted alright. Cracker Barrel’s are better, if that helps. I ordered the California omelette with a biscuit and garlic cheddar grits. The best thing on my plate was the grits, that is, until I spilled some hot sauce(more on that later). The omelette was a flop. It was completely unseasoned, and it was severely lacking in fixings. For a place that brags about«overstuffed“omelettes, I expected much better. The biscuit was stone cold, so the equally cold butter could not melt. Ugh! I put a drizzle of honey on it in hopes of resurrecting the taste. Since my omelette was so bland, I requested hot sauce. Our server brought three different varieties of Sadistic Mistress hot sauce. I smelled all of them and decided on Take it Like a Man, since my sniffer detected mustard, which I love. As I was applying the hot sauce, I lost control and dumped a bit too much. Some of it landed on my sad biscuit and mixed with the honey. That’s when the fireworks occurred. That hot sauce and honey mixture was MONEY! I immediately realized it would make for a magnificent BBQ sauce. Imagine my delight when I asked my server if they sell the hot sauce there and she said«yes.» In sum, Lexington Diner offers outstanding service, mediocre food, a rather congested and stressful atmosphere, and amazing hot sauce.

Awesome diner! Stopped in for lunch and left very happy and content. Started out with an awesome bowl of their chili. It was honestly some of the best I’ve had and I’ve been to Texas lol It was full of flavor but not spiced too hot to enjoy. For my entrée I had a chicken sandwich Diner style. It was absolutely delicious. A huge breast of chicken cooked just right with some home cut fries that were very good as well. One of the things that stood out about the sandwich was the bun. It was delicious. Not your run of the mill plain bun. I was very pleased with this spot. The food was very good. The service was very quick and friendly and the restaurant was very clean and well laid out. It was almost too clean to call a diner haha Anyway I highly recommend giving this spot a try. I know I will return when in Lexington

We’ve lived in Lexington for 15 years, and have a great understanding of the restaurant scene… My wife, toddler and I sat for 10 min there at the diner before we walked out. No one even acknowledged we were even there(including the owner, which was more concerned with bussing tables than serving us!) Decent food, but go to Alfalfas or Doodles for breakfast.

We’re from out-of-town and came to this establishment by the Unilocal app(of course). Glad we visited. Friendly service, great food at a reasonable price. Place is small but cozy, bathroom is tiny, but clean and quite cute! We’ll be back for sure.

Gouda omelette. Outstanding. Our server DJ was so accommodating. Loved all the 70s &80s music playing in the background. This diner has an amazing vibe and we will definitely be back.

Well, where do I start? Wife and I have been here a few times and we’ve had varying experiences. Initially we were extremely pleased but it seems that with each consecutive visit we are less and less so. Today was terrible. Wife ordered the Diner Burger which was pretty good, the only reason I gave a second star. I’ve had the Biscuits and Gravy a couple times before and they were amazing. This time the gravy was different, good but not as good as before. I was okay with that until I got a mouth full of doughy, under cooked biscuit. Ugh. I didn’t want to complain so I let that pass. Next up, the Chicken and Bacon Waffle entrée. Everything on the plate was cold when it arrived at the table and the«hand breaded chicken strips» were so over cooked they were inedible. The manager apologized and offered something else but I’m just not comfortable ordering food in that situation. The meal was taken off the ticket and we cashed in our loyalty card punches for the burger. We ended up paying twelve bucks for a soda, side of bacon and the biscuit dough and gravy.(+tip) Not a good experience, if I go back I think I’ll stick to the burgers.

After seeing so many positive reviews, I’ve been dying to check out Lexington Diner! A friend & I went for lunch & it definitely lived up to the hype. There isn’t a huge seating area but we found a table without a problem. Our waitress took our drink orders & brought us menus right after we sat down. There were a ton of tempting lunch menu options, but as someone who could eat breakfast food for each meal, I ordered the garden omelette and cheese grits. When our waitress brought out our food, I asked for some hot sauce– she brought three varieties– one being local that she recommended. Not only did our waitress check up on us occasionally, but other servers walking by asked if we needed anything or how the food was. Definitely will be back!

Well let’s see. I walked in at 9:58 and by 10:05 am the joint was packed! Very polite sevice. Fabulous food. Clean. Rotating menu. Everything that I saw come out of the kitchen looked delectable.

If you go on the weekend don’t expect to order many of the item that are pictured on Unilocal. The Kentucky hot brown breakfast… not available, the filet eggs Benedict… not available, the butterfinger French toast… not available. Very disappointing! I ordered the Kentucky breakfast which was just ok. The toast was served with whipped cream instead of butter, the bacon was crisp in the center but too chewy on the ends, the potatoes we ok but could use some seasoning, the eggs were good. My husband ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown Omelette which he liked(this is why I gave it a 3 instead of 2) Nothing like eating breakfast at 8:00 am while listening to «play that funky music white boy» blaring over the speakers. After eating we used the restroom(one to share for both male and females). The commode was dirty, tacky décor of a female dancer with one breast exported, ANDNOSOAP in the soap dispenser… this after an employee just exited the same restroom. My question is how did she wash her hands properly???

I wanted to really like this place after reading all the great reviews but I can not honestly give this place more than 3 Stars. There were 4 of us the meals were good to average. Burger I had was good but not great. Chorizo bowl was good the hot brown omeletes we ordered 2 were just no more than average very little flavor and little mornay sauce on either. The home fries were very good. Second visit for brunch was good. Cheese grits first rate very tasty & country ham slices good flavor. Blueberry waffle was well liked. Home again delicious.

Stopped by for brunch. Staff was nice, let us sit forever outside and we had a good time. I was a bit underwhelmed by the French toast. Great idea needed a lot more egg sopped into the bread. Gouda omlet was again nice concept. It needs a lot more cheese. I’d even pay extra for more cheese. Lastly cheesy grits could be better with melted and mixed in cheese. I had a previous stop for burger week, the staff are awesome and the burger was on point. Maybe we’ll stick to dinner and be happier.
