Nice people. Patient people! Worth it! Make sure to stop if you need a quick pick me up or just enjoy shooting. Friendly front desk and helpful.

Arrived with a brand new PPK and Ray was extremely helpful, courteous, knowledgable… I felt really welcome. Fired 100 rounds, got to know my new pistol and if I had a questions, he was there to help. Great experience… will be back next week!

Great place ran by great people. Fair prices. Came in from out of town and wanted to kill some time. Shot the S&W 686 and Glock 17 rentals, both were nice guns that were well taken care of.
Will be back next time I’m in Columbia.

Great place to shoot in a climate controlled environment. Average prices for range time; good deals on gear. Good hours/​access. Staff are professional and helpful. The atmosphere is one of education and safety — no condacending or intimidating people work there. My family of 4 our CWP training here and it was quite thorough. Especialy like that it is so easy to find and offers plenty of parking. Highly recommend to serious experienced and novice shooters alike.

Great Place To Shoot!
Very nice indoor shooting range! A fifteen minute ride from downtown Columbia, down I20 to Lexington–
Being kind of a newbie to the shoot em up — bang bang gun world I was a little intimidated about going to «The Range» The people at Defender Shooting Sports Indoor Range are super nice! They totally put me at ease, and made me feel comfortable about the whole experience. They took the time to explain the common sense rules and expectations– gave me a little tour and made sure to let me know that they were always available…
The facilities are clean and comfortable, They have a nice little lounge area with a few chairs and tables. The range itself has 10 well lit stalls with fold down tables and automatic target retrieval systems. They don’t offer a lot of merchandise and don’t have a real big display area or store front. They do sell guns and gun accessories– however, I think this is primarily a place to go and shoot.
They offer guns that you can rent and try out… If you’ve ever wanted to play Clint Eastwood. this would be the place to go shoot em up :)
Overall– Very professional, super nice staff– Very nice facilities– Five Stars!

My wife and I took our CWP class with these guys. The owner and his wife are very knowledgeable and helpful. My wife and I have been there to shoot many times. They even checked out a gun my wife bought at the gun show and gave her free range time to get used to it. Genuinely nice and caring people. I’ve got a new range that opened closer to my house, but I’m sticking with these guys. They earned my business. Well lit and ventilated range. Good selection of gun accessories. Decent rental selection. Trust me, these guys take the time to make their customer feel comfortable and welcome. Glad their here.

I’ve only recently found this great place, but i’ve already been there twice to shoot in the last week. they’re still getting off the ground, so they don’t have too many options on gun rentals, but what they do have is great. The staff there is wonderful. They’re extremely knowledgable, and anyone who’s been to shooter’s choice would love to know that the Defender staff is very polite too. They take time to make sure you’re comfortable and well informed. They sell a few gun accessories, but they are primarily a shooting range so don’t expect a ton of merchandise. If you’re looking for a good place to shoot though, look no further.
