I recently moved away from Lexington and I miss this place the most. Best sandwiches EVER!!! Favorite place in Lexington hands down! Great atmosphere especially during the holiday season. The sweet potato fries are on point.

This place is nice, simple, quaint and wholesome. It’s just about what you’d expect for a little diner. Honestly, that’s about all there is to say about it. When you want a simple burger and chips or maybe a warm soup, it will fill the spot. They use quality ingredients, which factors into their price. It’s not extremely expensive either, but it may be a bit above what a lot of people are looking for. Granted, I’ve only normally eaten there once that wasn’t during an event, which makes for a bit of a skewed experience. The place is a lot more cramped during one, especially during the BBQ festival. Still, I haven’t seen anything to make this stand out drastically, but I won’t give up yet. If I change my opinion and get to visit here a bit more outside events, I’ll update my review.

This is a decent place for locals to meet up with friends and have a meal. However, the atmosphere is not very comforting and neither are the workers. The prices are also a little high.

First restaurant I’ve ever eaten at that charged for water. Manager was rude, also. I won’t be back.

Weird atmosphere. Very dimly lit. Menu is very inconsistent, tex mex, barbecue, Italian, pub fare. They don’t seem to have a theme which makes the place less than memorable. Décor is very dated and the parking situation outside is DANGEROUS, you have to parallel park on a very busy road. Our service was mediocre at best. Probably won’t be returning.

A solid 3 star joint. Good food and prices, much better than other options in the area.

I’ve only been here once, but I plan on going again. I met my sister-in-law here for lunch. I got the loaded baked potato soup & chicken sandwich on a croissant. It was pretty good. Hit the spot on a cold day. Sweet tea was good too-very southern. They earn 3 stars from my experience.

Café 35 is a good place to meet friends for lunch(service is not the fastest) for a sandwich and soup. Baked potato soup is among the best anywhere. Sadly, their salads are only made with iceberg lettuce and for the price, you would expect mixed greens. Ditch the diet, and go for a pick 2 and add on hot chips with ranch dressing.

Sometimes I forget what a small town Lexington is. Some small towns like Hot Springs, VA or Blowing Rock, NC have great food. Some small towns have nothing better than mediocre food. Unfortunately Lexington falls in the latter category. I was hoping Café 35 would change my mind, but alas it did not. I would recommend Café 35 for locals and perhaps for sandwiches, burgers, etc. However I would not recommend it for fine dining or really any dinner. Prior to the entrée, the dinner salad was iceberg lettuce a slice of tomato and a few carrot shreds with some Captain’s Wafers. I ordered grilled salmon for $ 14.95 and it was, perhaps, the worst salmon I have ever had in terms of flavor. And it was accompanied by mashed potatoes with brown gravy. I have never seen brown gravy with salmon EVER. Fried chicken, fine. Turkey, fine. But salmon? The yeast roll was good(served in a plastic basket) but not enough to fill me up since the salmon was inedible. I was just left wanting a lot more and felt I could have had a nice salmon dinner in Charlotte(or even Salisbury) for the same price at much better quality with great sides. The best part about Café 35 was very friendly service and a good location in downtown Lexington and I liked the outdoor booths which I have never seen before. Next time, if I have to go to Café 35 I’d get a sandwich and hot chips. Or I’d go to Naples or for BBQ.

The food and service is absolutely awesome! I would have given them a 4.5 because the artichoke dip wasn’t as hot as we’d like it, and we waited just a little while(but it was lunch hour). But overall, I definitely recommend Café 35!
