I have to be honest, I’m not an MMA fan. You can barely call me a fan of any sort of sports. You will rarely ever catch me watching any sort of game or match or fight on television, and even rarer to actually attend one in person. But there’s just something special about watching sports in person. The event itself was quite small compared to the amount of space available in Heritage Hall… Maybe only ¼ of the entire area. That having been said, regardless of the different levels of admission, there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. The majority of the fights were by so-called«amateurs.» But these guys fought with respect for each other, and their own heart and soul. And being in such a small venue, we could often hear their friends and wives/girlfriends rooting for them. Additionally, you could did the fighters hanging out with the fans after their matches, just watching the other fights and more than willing to meet fans. The whole thing felt very intimate. All of the fights were intense and engaging, but I can see why they saved the professional matches until the end. All three matches were close calls and impossible to look away from. The judges definitely had a hard time scoring those three. That having been said, the only confusing part of the night was the VIP seating… Not clearly marked and almost identical to general admission seating. Not really a problem, just think it could help the staff have to police the area as much. If you’re into boxing, wrestling, MMA, or any kind of fighting, you need to come to this. And if you aren’t… Well… You’ll still probably get a kick out of it too.
