This is an outstanding local business. Very friendly customer service. Many unique and specially hand made items. If you need that something extra special, baby’s first will definitely help meet your need.

I am a consigner in this store, and I have to say this baby store is one of the best. Working with the owner is a pleasure. I sell in a handful of other stores, and she has proven to be such an easy and joyful person to work with.
As for the store itself; it is full of handmade items, as well as unique baby finds that you can’t get at the bigger name retail shops. She keeps her markup low, so the items are affordable and unique. This store supports many the local community, mothers and companies that are conscious of their impacts. I would highly recommend checking it out if your in the area!

My husband & I took a weekend trip to Lexington to visit friends after JUST finding out the sex of our baby the day before. My girl friend took us to Baby’s First so that I could make my very 1^st (pink) purchase for our baby girl. Even though the store is very small, I loved it from my first step in the door where I saw a shelf of adorable handmade baby hats. I decided on a sweet pink wool hat ($ 26). About 3 seconds after I paid my friends pointed out a sign in the window saying 15% off when you «check in» on Facebook. I told the owner I’d check in right then, but she wouldn’t allow the discount on the purchase I had JUST made & said, «next time.» Very annoying (especially since I paid cash & it would have been a simple price adjustment). And did I mention how completely dead the store was? Seriously. We were the only people in there. And it gets worse… Before she declined the Facebook deal, while she was making change for my purchase, I commented that I was attempting to check in on Unilocal but my phone was being slow. She didn’t reply. That would have been a good time for her to mention the Facebook check in deal, right? Well, gets this… I take 2 steps out of the door & my Unilocal check in goes thru & a deal pops up for a free wrist rattle with a $ 15 purchase. Are you serious!!! My blood was boiling. I almost went back in to return the hat & then purchase it again using both deals but I was with friends & didn’t want to ruin our fun day out & about. I can’t believe I received such poor service from Baby’s First. I’m not positive, but I believe the woman who «helped» me is the owner. So disappointing.
