The food is great but service when it is some what busy is very low. Went in for breakfast and the restaurant was about half full. We sat down and got our water and coffee right away. We had to wait about 30 minutes to give our order. No one came by to see us. I actually had to raise my hand to get a waitress attention. Once we order food came out right away, however I ordered French toast and when it came out it was one piece of toast cut in half. Very skimpy on their food but it is good. Pies are to die for. Food would get 5 stars but the 3 stars is because of service and lack of food per order.

The food is very authentic home cooking. If someone could figure out how to make this healthy and burn fat, I would be here daily. The service can be a little brusk, but that is part of the flair. It gets pretty busy, so pay attention to when you go or face a wait.

Great little diner spot. Not quite a real east coast type diner as the menu is limited, but the food was really good. Service was great.

This place ROCKS if you like legit home cooking. Way better than chains of same genre. Been twice already for breakfast and dinner and everything was delicious and homemade. No shortcuts taken which is such a pleasure in today’s world. Will be back again and again.

ate here once. my food was good. my gravy was bland but white country gravy can sometimes be hit or miss with the salt. too much and your in trouble. so least i could salt it at the table, i guess. the waitress really seemed like she was annoyed. it was my 1st time and i had questions. she really didnt make me feel welcome. i wasnt rude. i said please and thank you… i asked my questions in a polite manner she just seems like i was a waste of time. then i noticed the wait staff socializing with«regulars» in a way i was not treated. guess u have to practically live here to be recognized with the same polite attitude as the regulars. not coming back.

I love this little diner. It reminds Me of up north truck stops. Service is good and fast, food made to order and the prices can’t be beat. I’ve had the same waitress for the past 2 years and just love her. Friendly southern cooking and company. They have seats at the bar, booths and tables. They are very accommodating. Quaint and comfortable. If you are looking for gluten free, fat free, etc etc this is not the place for you. It’s a little southern diner.

Good old fashion cooking. Comfort food. One request can someone tell the cook that he needs to stop the whistling!!! Off key and spreads across the Resturant !!!

Food was excellent. Wanted to have some pie but after a 25 minute wait with no attention ATALL from our waiter I hit up and asked one of the two servers who were just standing around to take a pie order at our table. Nothing happened. Finally went to the check out and said we were leaving in 5 minutes with or without our check. That got the server there immediately. I won’t be back.

Have been eating here on and off all my life, of course I would eat here more so in the past when I lived in Lewisville. Today I odered chicken fried chicken, macaroni, fried okra, and garden salad. Food was out fast, was hot and fresh, and most of all tasted great. Server was a little slow but also was only one on the floor and was still polite and was with us as quickly as possible. Will definitely keep coming back. Enjoyed my visit.

Hands down one of my favorite places to eat breakfast. I’m a biscuits and gravy kind of girl and this place serve the best. The gravy has pieces of sausage and if that was good enough the biscuit are so fluffy they’re to die for. To be honest was kind of nervous going inside because I’m very mainstream when it come to breakfast but so glad I did :)

I am from California, and we do not get good homestyle cooking on the west coast, such as this place. I came here after some family friends recommended it. Its a hole in the wall, and old school. The receipts are handwritten, the staff is personal, and the menu varies by each day, which is a nice change. And the coconut pie, yum. problems? cottage cheese was warm– gross my sister ordered pineapple with cottage cheese, and when it arrived it had cherries in it. What. The apple crumb pie, was also pretty foul. The apple pie filling, was the consistency of apple sauce with gelatin. And than, the apple crumb topping was pretty much brown sugar. steak fingers… steak was chicken? What the.

I love this place, the food is always tasty. I went today and again the food was good but my waitress left a lot to be desired. She was too busy ‘FaceBooking’ instead of taking care of her tables. I wish our waitress would have been Carol. Next time we will insist.

I came here for breakfast with my husband and two others around 11:00AM.(late breakfast). Upon entering, the place had an old homey feel. Nothing fancy inside. My husband ordered a bowl of homemade beef stew($ 5.77) and I ordered the #2 Breakfast Special — 2 eggs with toast and sausage($ 5.15). The other folks in our party ordered Fried Chicken with Macaroni & Cheese and Fried Okra as well as another breakfast entrée with pancakes. The prices for breakfast are very reasonable. They also have Daily Specials($ 8.27), burgers, sandwiches, salads, sides, pies and cobblers. Overall, I thought my breakfast was just«okay». The eggs were cooked perfectly, however the toast was too crumbly(maybe it was old/dry before they put butter on it and toasted it). I thought the sausage would be links but were actually sausage patties and they were a bit dry and overcooked. The service we received was good and we were in and out pretty fast. The only odd thing was that our waitress dropped off individual bills(4 bills total). Maybe this is something you need to disclose prior to ordering. Tell them if you will be all on one bill, you were a couple, or paying separately. 81⁄100 Reviews for 2015

Chicken fried steak, macaroni & cheese, lima beans, and cornbread Meatloaf, candied yams, macaroni & cheese, turnip greens, rolls, and coconut pie Chicken & dumplings, macaroni & cheese, green beans, rolls, and banana pie I just heard about this place three days ago and I’ve eaten three meals. A few minor issues is why I can’t give a five star rating but those are just personal preferences. The food is good. The prices are quite reasonable: meat and three is only 8.27 and desserts are 3. I’ll certainly be back!

This is a diner and I have rated it as such. Fine dining, go somewhere else. Amazing service; your server is working 15 tables, get real. However; the food is wholesome and good and the staff are polite and accurate(if a little bit rushed). This place is no palace: a dingy storefront in a strip mall with an unremarkable sign. Inside is not much cheerier, with number placards above each table(We were #33). But what surprised me was the cheeriness of the staff and all the patrons. Everyone was happy to be there and aside from commenting on how good the food was no one talked about anything else having to do with the restaurant. This is truly a diner. A place where you go to get food and it shows up quickly just like you asked for it. I was reminded of the diner from Seinfeld; those guys are always there and the diner just sort of «happens» behind them. If you are looking for simple, wholesome food fast at a decent price: here’s you’re place.

This is a diner. There aren’t many left. I like the routines of this place. They are fast, clean and the food is always good! They also have To Go Service perfected. Try a fried pie. :)

A nice surprise! We were in the area, and needed some breakfast. It is a homey diner, the kind you would think to find in a small tx town. You stand in line to get seated. Both my husband and I got the chicken friend steak with eggs, mine were over easy! The chicken fried steak was surprisingly awesome! It tasted homemade, like they bread the steak themselves. I honestly expected it to taste like what you would get at an IHOP or Denny’s. We got the coconut crème pie, which was okay. The crème tasted like it was sugar free. Maybe she gave me the wrong one. Bc they do have sugar free options. The coffee was kind of gross, I couldn’t finish one cup. If we are in the area, I’ll have to remember this place, just for the chicken fried steak! Although, I’m not driving the extra distance. Plenty of breakfast options in the Dallas area.
