We ended up walking out after only being in there with Don for about 10 minutes. He barely said two words to us and obviously didn’t want to work with us. What a waste driving two hours to this wig shop.

When we first went to Comfort Wigs, the owner, Don, was cordial and accomodating. Even offered to process our insurance claim so that we would get reimbursed for our out of pocket expenses for my wife’s wig she needed due to chemo. We provided our prescription for the wig upon return to Colorado. I followed up after a few weeks to see if the claim had been submitted /processed and it had for $ 480. I called Don and he sent us a check for $ 375. I called Don and asked where is the remaining $ 105. He said he normally kept that for«administrative» purposes and became VERY upset when I said«thats just not right Don». He said he would mail the check and HUNGUP. For 3 weeks now, I have been waiting on the remaining $ 105 and called again today. The lady that answered said she mailed the check last week. I said I haven’t received it yet and would call back if I don’t receive it in the next few days. She responded«why don’t you call back when you DO recieve it». This is the most unethical business I have run across and will not do business with them in the future regardless of Don’s supposed talent. Dishonesty is not OK and is unacceptable. «Adminstrative» purposes??? what about the profit you already made on the wig(which should include any overhead). What if a customer doesn’t have insurance? Does he charge a 300% overhead admin fee?. He is a crook and I am just one person who caught him in his scam.

These people are horrible old miserable white idiots that should be ashamed of themselves. They treated my mother and I like we were absolutely nothing. If you aren’t white, don’t expect to get any good treatment here. They won’t work with you if you are of any color. The place was extremely messy and disorganized and although we had an appointment, they did not want to spend any time with us. They do not take care of their wigs, they’re thrown in a large cabinet. They expected us to buy the brown birds nest of a wig the first glance we saw. The older white man, I believe his name was Don, had an extremely awful attitude and slammed nearly every drawer and cabinet as he looked for wigs. I would not recommend ANYONE to waste their time here. If they can treat a cancer patient horribly, then they don’t deserve any business. Please do not give them your time or your money.

I have alopecia universalis and have purchased 4 wigs from Don. They keep getting better and are better than my real hair. I can have short hair, long hair, medium have constant highlights and he gives the best haircuts. It is rare that I know what style I want and he just figures it out. He is such a blast, my mom comes with me to be entertained. and he offers very great refreshments. I cant tell you how much Don has helped me deal with a most likely lifetime need. He is the best! I’m trying to get him to go to the National alopecia meeting in San Antonio this summer as he is so much fun, my husband and I would love to hang with him on the River walk.

I recently visited Comfort Wigs and cannot say enough about the positive experience. Don spent a lot of time helping me pick a wig with the right style and color. He is compassionate yet has a good sense of humor… Much needed during tough times. The store has an excellent selection in stock or available quickly. I highly recommend.

I have very thin hair due to genetics and iron deficiency anemia and my desire to wear wigs is purely for vanity. Wigs however, are intentionally sold with too much hair, a bit too long, so they can be customized. I had butchered at least one wig on my own trying to do so, and also had not found success with normal hair stylists(who are understandably hesitant to cut on something that will not grow back). Finally with a google search I found Don’s place. His shop is cute and homey, and he has many, many, wigs on display. He has a private try on and consultation area. He understands different wigs, how they are constructed, which one is best for your type of hair loss, and can customize them, cut them, style them, fit them, it’s awesome. He’s got a great friendly personality to boot. My wig looks very natural, and so much better than it was out of the box.
