Undoubtedly some of the best sushi in the DFW area. When asked why they were closed on Sundays the owner replied«because fish markets are closed on Sunday» thus implying they only serve when fish is fresh. Reservations help with any long wait(as most great restaurants will have a wait on busy/weekend nights).

This place is a hip sushi place. I had beef teriyaki, edamame, and sushi. The teriyaki sauce was wonderful. It was very sweet! The service was wonderful, and my drinks were never empty. An excellent place!

I have eaten there multiple times over the past few years. I normally order sushi rolls. The service has always been great. Food quality is great. Unfortunately, they recently started reducing the amount of fish used in the rolls dramatically. Trying to cut food costs, I guess. Last weekend I ordered rolls and got 90% rice, 10% fish(no joke). Needless to say, I won’t be back. There are plenty of other good Sushi options in the area.

Came here a few times. Always with the groupon promo they have every once and awhile. The groupon makes the experience a decent value. The food is okay but the pricing doesn’t make much sense. It’s $ 18 for a hibachi chicken dinner then it sky rockets to $ 36 for steak. So unless you get chicken, you won’t be happy with the pricing. The service was average. The refill your drinks in a weird way. Instead of bringing you a new glass, or taking your existing glass to refill it, they fill a cup then pour the contents of the cup into your glass. I can’t find a valid reason behind this strategy. Are you saving costs from having to wash more glasses? Oh if you use the groupon, it automatically adds an 18% tip. So your service can, in theory suck, and you are out of luck.

I was somewehat disappointed by the restaurant. The reviews seemed promising and the interior and atmosphere of the place was great. However, the food was very mediocre. I got the chicken and shrimp hibachi in garlic sauce, if I remember correctly. The chicken was very dry and flavorless, and the shrimp was better but not exactly exciting. The sauce was salty and underwhelming as well. The place was great, but the food was disappointing. Maybe I made the wrong choice and the sushi is better, but I would not recommend the hibachi. Edit: After reading other reviews, it seems that their service is under question. I didn’t feel that the service was so bad as to push the restaurant to 1 star, but it was a bit lackluster(especially considering I was there on a pretty slow Thursday night).

I come here often and have been happy, but today was different. I was the first diner in the restaurant for the day. No one seated me or took my order. I sat up on the stool by the sushi bar. The person making sushi took my order. No waitress came by to take my drink order until I had gotten my food. My soup came after I was eating. Then I hear a cell phone go off where they prepare the sushi. I watched another sushi maker answer the phone then put it down to continue cutting cucumbers. …yuck. He didn’t wash his hands so I told the waitress .she came back and told me they threw away the cucumber. My question is why should they b allowed to have their cell phones back there where they are preparing our sushi?

Very unassuming on the outside, in a strip next to a 7 – 11. Inside is really nice and the ambiance gets better the later it gets. We arrived at 6pm, left at 8pm. Surprisingly busy on a Tuesday night considering they do NOT have a happy hour. Food and experience were okay. Not Benihana; slightly different. They do extra to entertain the kids but get right to business(with a little fancy flipping of utensils) for the adults. The flavor of the fried rice was very typical of a chinese restaurant, good, but familiar. Salad was decent(although I wish I had a knife to cut the large leaves), and the soup was decent as well. I got the filet and shrimp combo. The chef cooked the filet medium as requested. The meat is tossed with a sauce and some garlic/herb butter. Typically I’m a purist with my steak(butter always being okay), but I like to try things the first time as the chef intended. It was good. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised. Shrimp were tasty with both the lemon and the butter being noticeable in every bite. Steamed veggies were good also. Now, the bill is another story. First, we got another table’s bill; no worries, it happens from time to time. Second, gratuity was added and there were only two of us(yes, only 2 at our hibachi grill)! Third, the Groupon we used caused confusion with one bill, so we requested it be split, and indicated exactly what should be charged on each ticket. This was not done right either. *sigh* My advice? Always ask for separate checks. TRUSTME! And beware of automatic gratuity!!!

If there is an option for 0, I would give 0. TERRIBLE&AWFUL service!!! Worst experience among all for the past 13 years of eating at any restaurant in USA!!! Have never been treated like this! This place has 2 sole goals for business: 1. Maximum profit by not providing healthy brown rice option; 2. Staying away from liability without special accommodation for medical needs even when customers bring their own brown rice from Costco. The waiter and manager(Kimberly)(per business card) were very arrogant, rude and unaccommodating. «You will just have to eat without rice!» was her answer to me. Such an impatient and cold attitude eventually drove us away.(When I went through other reviewers’ comment, realized it was not bc of me, but indeed the horrible female owner). My night of celebration with hubby was completely ruined! Such an unpleasant experience! I called immediately to a nearby hibachi restaurant and explained my medical need, although they don’t have brown rice either, they were willing to accommodate as long as I don’t ask them to cook my own rice and greeted me with a big smile. Thanks to them for making this up a little. I will never come to this cold and rude place. I am so glad DFW has so many choices on hibachi restaurant!

Bought a to-go box(combination boat sth) for my boyfriend on his b-day, he is a huge fan of salmon sushi and sashimi. Even it’s been a while when we ate the sushi, it was still good and fresh! Would come back another time to try other food.

This place is horrible!!! Don’t give them your business, even if there is a Groupon. Get a refund. First we were told to come back in an hour by the hostess because we had no reservation and since we wanted to sit and enjoy at the hibachi grill and told her exactly that, we agreed. When we went back, Ivona(or at least that’s the name she gave us) asked me if we had a Groupon, she then told us we’d have to wait for another half an hour or so to sit at the hibachi grill!!! Unless we wanted to eat right now, then she’d sit us at a regular table and bring the food over from the hibachi grill. I can’t believe they would treat any customer this bad. If I did not have a Groupon, would I have been treated better? I doubt it as it seems others have been treated this way too. Hey owner, are you listening?

After being gone for 5 years — we returned only to find the owner still there and she still remembered us — that’s always a good way to start out the night, being remembered by the owner. Of course we were waited on by the owner — sat at one of her tables and served the most amazing sushi roll I’ve ever had — we both agreed we should have just ordered two more of them. However, we both agreed that our entrees were excellent as well. Price — parking — service — selection and overall experience — Amazing!

I’m not sure where the bad reviews came from but I had a terrific dinner here. It’s a pretty big place for a strip mall kind of place and the layout is good. They have a formal sushi bar, big central bar and a whole area for teppan. If you like American style sushi rolls, they have a really eclectic assortment of different combinations and the two I tried were excellent. The yellowtail, which I rate every sushi bar on, was perfect. The spicy tuna hand roll was like a big snowcone of crack. Good miso soup, good Goya dumplings… everything was excellent. Sure to come back here.

Horrible service!!! Never got to try the food. We were waiting at the sushi bar were told«LADY, move down». no please or explanation. The Waitress, whom I assume is also owner prepares waters for a large party of all men while that have not been seated, while we still sit with nothing but orders to move.

The food here it was pretty good. the restaurant decorations are very appealing. The service was very good. The chef and we we had at the hibachi Grill was new, but he did a great job. The food servings are huge compared to other hibachi grills I have been to before. The chicken was good, but the shrimp was a little over cooked. The chili lime sauce on the shrimp was different, so next time I think I would stay with teriyaki.

I had dinner with a group of friends one Friday night. Crowd were mixture of all people and ages. This place is expensive for what it is. Everything on the menu is overpriced. Phở was about $ 10. That’s outrageous. I didn’t really want anything from their menu except an ahi tuna. That was the only thing I got. It was pretty good, I don’t know if it was $ 16 good. Blue Fish is better and even that is cheaper than here. This would not be my choice to go eat next time. I can get far better food for cheaper prices else where.

First time coming here with my boyfriend on late Friday night because they open late till 11 pm and everywhere else was about to close, so why not try it right? This Japanese place is just right next to my house, in the corner between HWY121 and MacArthur Blvd. Nice Japanese bar atmosphere inside decorating with blue lights all over. Great place to have some drinks and hang out with friends. We were waiting for seated, and our waitress was so nice and friendly. Food menu here is variety. They have Japanese appetizers, sushi rolls, dinner dishes, hibachi, and drinks. We didn’t start off with appetizers or anything because we were just so hungry at this point. My boyfriend ordered Cajun Rolls and I had Devil Rolls. Good portion but slightly pricey for what you pay. Cajun rolls were good, got a little spicy creamy taste. Devil rolls were just alright to me. They had honey mustard on the top to make flavor. So I liked his more than mine to be honest: D Otherwise, it was such a good dinner, just a little overprice. I wasn’t disappointed or anything. I will try Blue Ocean Chef’s Specials next time. Don’t forget to check out Groupon Special. They have $ 18 for $ 30 Hibachi here. We didn’t try it because we were craving sushi rolls more.

It’s expensive, but the sushi is really good. I know that everyone is supposed to have good food and that quality alone doesn’t justify high prices. Anyway, you decide on that. The ambiance of this place is nice. I like the layout. It has the feel of a good dinner restaurant. I went for lunch. It was good for lunch, especially since we always eat the same stuff. This was a nice change. However, if going as a group there are two things to keep in mind. 1) — Your whole party can only have a total of five checks. If you have more than five people, some of you are going to have to pay together. Not a huge deal, but I thought you might like to know in case nobody has cash on them. 2) — They WILL add the gratuity for parties of more than five or six and(at least for us) WILLNOT tell you that they did that. The receipt does NOT show a line for«extra tip». It still just says«tip amount». So if you don’t check your bill, you may leave more than you should. Another thing if you go for lunch — get the Bento Box. It’s a lot more sushi for a better price than you get if you buy it piecemeal from the sushi menu. I don’t know if they sell those for dinner or not, but it’s worth checking on. Hot Saki is awesome. Cold Sapporo is delicious. Have a nice time and enjoy the fresh fish!
