I want my money back. The crawfish had no taste and they microwaved the boiled shrimp. Don’t waste your money.

My first time here and the food was bomb to say they not from Louisiana. I guess we Louisiana’s are a lil bias because you know how we throw down on seafood!!! I would definitely go back and invite family and friends. The Bayou Market is good with me…

I’ll just come out and say it… this place needs better organization and customer service! So I came in right before the dinner rush on a Friday night. Ordered their catfish platter, side of dirty rice, boiled potatoes, corn and sausage to go. It was my first time and I wanted a variety to try. After waiting 45 minutes of which 15 minutes my order sat on the counter Unannounced… I got home to try the food. I fell in love with the boil on my first trip to Nola so naturally that’s where I started. The corn and sausage were great… spicy and juicy. The potatoes had none of the juice as the rest of the boil had. Total let down. Then came the catfish platter… never again. They flour their fish… no crispy, crunchy cornmeal. By the time I got ready to eat it, there was no crunch at all… just soggy, flavorless breading… no cajun seasoning at all. The fries are your typical frozen fries with some seasoned salt on top. The jalapeño hush puppies are of the frozen variety as well. Then the biggest injustice ever… the dirty rice! You can tell it’s homemade but was poorly seasoned all the way around and it was on the dry side. Now I did love that they carry a lot of the things in their grocery section that I fell in love with in New Orleans like the Café du Monde coffee and DD sausage. That’s the reason behind only three stars. They were out of key items BEFORE the dinner rush before 5pm and had no plans to cook more of the items they were out of… piss poor customer service. Do Better Bayou Market!

Absolutely the worst crawfish I have ever had in my life. No joke. They were super mushy and over cooked The boudin balls were ok My daughter got the chicken strips and they were like rubber too. The place smelled horrible too. It’s a shame too because I like hole in the wall places but I will for sure not be going back.

First time there and most likely my last… Food was hot when I got it and the prices were decent. Other than that the okra was pretty good. Everything else disappointed me, the shrimp and crawfish didn’t have much flavor, the Cajun fries were regular fries with some Cajun seasoning sprinkled on sparingly and the restaurant was both small and constantly confusing people’s orders.

This place is just ok. There hush puppies were so so. Their crawfish came in a weird paper bag situation, which made for an un-appetizing presentation. And the crawfish was scooped from a cooler out sitting on a counter out front. Why doesn’t all of the prep take place in the kitchen? The Cajun fries were really just plain fries with a little bit of seasoning on it. The price of the crawfish was only $ 5.99 a pound so that is the only reason why I am giving them 3 stars. And the fact that they continued to take orders after they had closed.

We got 7Lb of crawfish for $ 5.99LB cheapest I’ve been able to find them. Absolutely amazing and about medium sized. We also got a crawfish pie, boudan balls, and a catfish po-boy(the biggest one I’ve ever seen). If anyone says anything bad about this place they’re lying. Absolutely delicious!

This was my first time going to this place and to think I would go for a day like thanksgiving. I was scared. I needed a fried turkey though. My parents were coming in town from New Orleans and we were hosting thanksgiving this year. In New Orleans we eat fried turkey and Turducken every thanksgiving so we know what it supposed to taste like. I ordered the Turkey and was told to pick it up on thanksgiving day. I brought my dad with me to pick it up at 10am. He was a little skeptical about getting a fried turkey in dallas. He kept trying to peek in the back to see who was frying it. Lol The Turkey was hot and ready when we got there. I was still uncertain though. They gave us free dirty rice and gravy with the Turkey, so I decided to taste the dirty rice and sip the gravy that to get a feel of the place. The dirty rice was great and gravy not so much. So I was still nervous. When we got home we cut a piece of the Turkey and when I tell you that Turkey was so freaking good. It was juicy and seasoned well. So the make a long story short. I saved Thanksgiving. No but for real it was really good. Great job, y’all.

I went to BM for lunch earlier this week. I had the combo platter with a drink and costed $ 22. In which for seafood that is fine. The combo platter included fried fish, fried shrimp, fried crawfish, and fried oysters with french fries and hushpuppies. The seasoning was ok but not New Orleans style. I was served a half-done large piece of catfish, 4 medium size shrimp, 4 small pieces of oyster, and a handful of fried crawfish. It was a large portion but I couldn’t eat the catfish. I will not return.

Got the shrimp po boy which came with Cajun fries and a free canned drink. The po boy was good and I liked the bread too! The fries wasn’t anything special though. We also got the catfish platter which was sadly over cooked but we’ll definitely try out the other dishes. They said they were looking to adding more dishes to the menu! Can’t wait!

I went to The Bayou Market off a tip from a forum where we were talking legit Shrimp Po Boy’s and the lack there of in Frisco. I feel in love with shrimp Po Boy’s on my first trip to New Orleans, but I haven’t found anything even close to that quality here, UNTILNOW! Start your car and head towards Lewisville!

She comes behind me, the door slams and i could hear her lock it! Thier food may be good but thier custOmer service SUCKS! Guess i won’t be trying their again, Razzoos it is!

We went in last weekend and spent 150.00 on crawfish, po boys, boudin, and shrimp plates. Being natives of louisiana we were holding the bar high for customer service and food. Needless to say we werent impressed. The hot sausage po boy was burnt, the crawfish were mushy, the boudin was still frozen, and the shrimp plates could be a kids plate. The attitude of the employees was enough to make someone not return. When we let them know about the burnt hot sausage she had a an attitude and then when i let her know my boudin was still frozen. I will drive all the way back to baton rouge before i will come back.

I had lunch here with my friend. I ordered oyster platter. My friend had gumbo with red beans and fried okra. We both felt queasy after eating here. I thought it was because of the oil in the fried food. At about 7PM, I felt dizzy and I threw up from food poisoning. I KO after that. This morning I texted my friend to let him know I had food poisoning and he said his stomach hurt yesterday too. My food poisoning had to come from this place because I only ate oatmeal for breakfast and oyster platter for lunch. I was too sick to eat dinner. I eat oatmeal everyday so that’s not the source. The person made our food probably didn’t wash their hands or the whole kitchen is dirty. I’m not eating here again and risk getting sick! Aint nobody got time for that!

ONLY reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is the drinks, okay, and I have to say it, the fries. Silly as it seems, I’d like a fountain drink option as I need a refill ;o) They have drinks that you can buy by the can, but I drink a lot. The fries are just kind of blah. Need good fries with my sandwich and they just aren’t good. Never crispy or double fried, just okay. With that said, the other food is amazingly fresh and cooked to order, the service is top notch, and the prices are reasonable. Stopped in for lunch today and ordered a large Po Boy, WOW, it was massive and loaded with shrimp. I could have had a half and been full. Great red beans/rice and sausage, different types of gumbo, boudin, crawfish, etc. They also have a section of canned and bottled goods that you typically don’t see in this area… nice touch. Last, but certainly not least, there is a freezer full of their homemade goods that you can take home to heat up yourself.

Even though I just posted a review a few weeks ago I had to leave another. For the first time I tried a fried oyster po boy. I only like raw oysters so I never thought I would like it. It was great! After ALL these years I have been missing out on goodness! I had read a review about the potato salad not being good so I have never tried it from here. I decided to try it for myself. I also loved it! My husband got the Cajun turkey po boy and it was good. For his side red beans and rice was also tasty. I prefer more of a smoked meat flavor but it was ok. My favorite po boy is still the shrimp but I’m glad I FINALLY tried the fried oyster

This location is the old Bayou Boys Cajun Specialty(which we really liked.) I should also mention that I am a cajun and grew up in southern Louisiana. My wife and I went to Bayou Market for take out. We both ordered Seafood Gumbo and we both liked it; it was very good with a dark reddish-brown roux, a nice aroma, and a reasonable amount of seafood. For my main course, I chose Crawfish Étouffée, with Red Beans and Rice and Hush Puppies as my two side items. The Étouffée was quite good with lots of crawfish and it was the correct color. The Red Beans were very traditional and flavorful; mine came with a 2 inch long slice of sausage. Yum! My other side, the four Hush Puppies were over cooked(like most hush puppies) and were flavored with jalepeno, I think. My wife also ordered Fried Okra and she liked them. I was pleased that the gumbo containers were in a covered styrofoam cup and then overwrapped in plastic film. They arrived home leak-free and hot. Overall, the food was authentic, the prices very reasonable and we will definitely be back!

Really average. Like other Unilocaler reviews, the location in a nondescript shopping center is not a plus. The interior is no better. Pretty spartan, but that’s ok. I have had some incredible foods at dives. I ordered a blackened fish po boy(½). I stayed away from the more popular fried because I try to eat healthy. It was served promptly with fries. Not enough fish for the roll. Lots of bread. They say it is shipped in from New Orleans. It is good, not great. The fish was fresh. Tasted good. Just a bit boring, compared to some of the po boys I have had in New Orleans. The open case where you order had a few slices of pie and a pile of shrimp. Not too appetizing. I root for small businesses. Hope they continue to improve their offerings and appearance here. I love good cajun food and love places that are authentic.
