Driving past the huge donut sign, I was intrigued. I thought this might be a place with fresh, interesting donuts. A hip — looking little location in a resort town, I was expecting rows of original confections that are typical of independent bakeries. Instead I got a display case that might as well have been pulled from the Dunkin(there’s one practically across the street). Standard cremes, jellies, glazed… and very few of them for early morning. I’m wondering if I had an(ok, but not impressive) sour cream that was a leftover. The bagel rack was worse. Mind you, a donut shop doesn’t HAVE to carry bagels, but this one had a 90% empty display case with a handful of bagels wrapped in cellophane. Those weren’t made this morning. Finally, I asked for some skim milk for my coffee, and the server told me «We have whole milk.» Guess stocking different coffee accoutrements was a bridge too far. Like having fresh baked goods. Don’t let the epic sign fool you. This is not a place where you can get a maple-bacon-razzleberry-whatever bar. You can get a cream-filled. You’d be better served going to the Dunkin across the street at Midway. Thank God I didn’t ask for Splenda.
