Wow I went there today for lunch with a few family members, everything was great from beginning to end. The waitress was so helpful so polite and patient with us cause it took us a while to decide on our appetizers and main courses. The food was tasty, we each ordered different entrees like the penne a la vodka with shrimp, the chicken Parmesan, the linguini Alfredo, the calamari and chicken wings for appetizers and we all were satisfied with our orders. We can’t wait to go back and dine there again and we are also recommending it to anyone who are pasta lovers.

I haven’t tried their pasta dishes or other menu items. Their pizzas are fresh and flavorful. Decent customer service and their cheese calzone was for me didn’t stand out. Their plain slices are big and filling.

I’m a lover of all Italian food and classic comfort Italian restaurants, but I am not impressed by this place at all. I’ve come here with my family a few times and recently with my mom and it gets worse every time. This past time is the last time we will ever visit. The restaurant was freezing — so much so that we had to ask the waitress to turn it up, which she then complained to us about how it’s always freezing and the management never turns up the heat. The service was mediocre at best. Our server kept trying to upsell us on alcohol(a touchy subject) and more expensive entrees that we just weren’t interested in. Call me boring, but I have my usual favorite dish and I like to stick to it at Italian places. The food was bland at best. It wasn’t that flavorful and it was mostly watery and greasy. The portions were okay and the interior and atmosphere of the restaurant is just boring and bland. We didn’t get a greeting on our way in nor out and the restaurant just looked unkempt and old in general. No wonder there was no one in there on a weekend night.

Just awful. These people don’t know the meaning of common sense nor hospitality. It was very simple: I ordered dinner to go, came in, picked it up, drove home, go to eat it and it’s not the dish I paid for.($ 18!) So we did what any normal person who didn’t get what they paid for would do. When we called the manager was rude, wouldn’t let us get a word in, and on top of that she told us she would have the owner call us back. Guess what ? I’m still waiting on that phone call. On top of that the guy behind the counter tried to short us $ 10 bucks in change. They just lost two loyal customers and whoever else I can warn after those stunts they pulled. I won’t hold my breath for that phone call nor for Portofino to learn some class. — — — — — — — — — — — — – I just got a message from the owner apologizing so I’m adding another star. That was very nice and classy of him to contact me in a respectful manner. So I completely take back that last sentence of my review !

Husband and I went for dinner on a Friday night. We were sat in the back section, which is also where they let the to-go patrons sit(not my favorite). The food was priced like a higher end restaurant but the place looked and felt like a to-go establishment. However the food was very good and our waitress was more then accommodating. We asked for a wine list and they said we have Merlot or Cab, therefore no such wine list exists. We got a carafe of the Merlot, which was pretty decent and rather large. Lasted us the entire dinner and then some. Probably wouldn’t go back until I’ve tried out other Italian spots in the area to compare.

The baked clams are absoutely superb. I can literally drink the sauce that they come in. Good selection of pizza too. Pasta dishes are average.

Had a Groupon so decided to check this place out. To get to the restaurant you have to pass through the pizzeria section which was crowded so I’m assuming the pizza must be good. As far the food, it was ok. Started out with the baked clams special which consisted of tiny whole clams saturated in orange tinted bread crumbs. The fried mozzarella special was good and was accompanied by a tasty marinara sauce. Hubby had a bland lasagna and I tried the seafood scampi-the shrimp was cooked perfectly but the meal itself missed the mark with an overdose of garlic-and I love me some garlic. Would not hurt to be more generous with pasta. Oddly when the bill came there was a 20% service fee added which usually occurs with large parties. Overall an average at best place.

We sat down for pizza with a group of six. Josh, our waiter was great and had us out in a timely manner to get to our next destination. The pizza was delicious! I haven’t been there in a few years so it’s good to know the food is still good. BUT the ladies restroom was atrocious. The door didn’t lock on one of the doors. The stalls and floors were dirty.

Do not come to this restaurant if you have children. We went here for my birthday with my 18 month old son. We were seated in the way back away from the regular dining room with no table cloths and Pokemon blaring on the tv. I guess they saw that we had a child and thought we were second class citizens and couldn’t eat in the main dining room and have a nice dinner with the rest of society. My child knows how to behave in a restaurant, if he didn’t we wouldn’t go out to dinner. After about five minutes someone dropped bread off at the table. But that was the last employee we saw. No one came to bring us water, no one came to take our order. After seeing a woman a few tables away from us get up and complain that it was 20 minutes later and she still had not received a slice of pizza she ordered for her daughter(20 mins for a slice of plain pizza, really?!), we knew it was a lost cause and got up and left. We will not be returning, and we will be telling all of our friends to stay away from this place.

My girlfriend and I purchased a groupon for $ 20 to Porto Fino. I had never heard of it before because I live out on eastern Long Island. She said the groupon was good for $ 40 and was for takeout. I was skeptical at first because of this, but I was soooo wrong. This food is amazing! Some of, if not one of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The portions are huge! We had two entrees, two pinwheels and an appetizer… After the groupon it cost us on $ 6!!! I will definitely be ordering from Porto fino again! Dishes to try: –Shrimp Parm –Fettuccine Alfredo –Cheesy Garlic Bread(Amazing!!!) –Pepperoni Pinwheels The only negative I can speak of is the front counter help. Absolutely out there! They forgot my drinks in my takeout order, so I went back inside and stood there while everyone looked at me and the counter guy just kept on cleaning things instead of asking what I needed. The front counter help is definitely lacking…

Horrible horrible horrible. Do not go. If i could give zero stars i would! Linguine di mare had TONS of shells in it, but no fish! The pasta itself was even impossible to eat because it was filled with shells. The spaghetti side that i got with my chicken dish tasted like jarred sauce, and the sauce in the chicken was like hot water. Literally threw $ 45 worth of food straight into the garbage, with the exception of the salad and bread. Disgusted with this experience. Worst restaurant/chef i have ever experienced in my life.

I was there last week for the first time & I definitely will NOT be returning! Having never been there before I wanted to order something basic that they could not screw up so I ordered baked ziti. Well I was wrong! They could screw it up & they did. At first I thought it was just cold so I asked them to heat it up. But even when they brought it back, still not very hot, it was awful! It was just pasta with sauce that tastes like it came out of a jar, cold ricotta cheese thrown in there & a little mozzarella on top that they must melt in a microwave. There was nothing baked about this ziti! The waitress was apologetic however, I don’t really think that management cared at all because they didn’t do anything to try to make it better which is one of the reasons I wii NOTBERETURNING!

Let me start off with the regular slice. It costs $ 2.61. It is small in size not worth it. Not sure if management changed but this place went downhill. The general cleanliness of the place is filthy and nasty. Lots of dirty walls the floor is greasy and oily. The bathroom are just about the same as NYCMTA. The only reason this place is getting two stars is because it has friendly staff. I will not be coming back here again.

I don’t know what happened here. The quality of food has consistently spiraled downward. A few years back, it was our«go to» place, and the last few times we ate here, it tasted like re heated up cheap microwaved food??? The highlight of the meal were the stuffed garlic knots. Everything else was terrible! The delivery service was a mess! From the Girl taking the orders over the phone, to the length of arrival time. a disaster! What a shame.

This place used to be great. With that said, I don’t know what happened. We order pizza from here almost once a week, and after the last time I ordered, I will not be ordering again. When the pizza(half pepperoni) was delivered, the center of the pie dough was RAW. I had to BAKE my pizza the rest of the way through as not to get sick from raw dough. I ordered half a dozen stuffed garlic knots, to receive regular knots, that were cold, and tasted stale. Not to mention the stuffed knots are what I was charged for, and they cost much more. Thanks but no thanks, there’s so many better pizza places and Italian restaurants in town– like Domeinco’s.

Pizzeria review only– not the restaurant. Pros: awesome speciality slices. I highly recommend the chicken ala vodka or the buffalo chicken. Others are good also. Their stuffed garlic knots are also delicious. Penne ala vodka and shrimp oreganata are excellent. Cons– I haven’t really experienced any cons; however, their regular slice is only average. I’d only go out of my way here for the specialties. Chicken and eggplant parm are average.

I wish I could give them zero stars. I ordered 2 sandwiches and a slice of pizza at 5pm online, knowing that I had plenty of time to wait for delivery before I headed off to work at 7pm. I was sadly mistaken! It took 90 minutes to get to me! It’s not like this restaurant was in Guam, it was a little over a mile away from me. How does it take an hour and a half to deliver 2 sandwiches and a plain slice of pizza? I tried to cancel my order because I had to leave for work, but they just kept passing the phone around and putting me on hold until their delivery guy got to my house. Efff this place! They just lost a loyal customer, and I am telling everyone I know about what a shoddy business they are.

I’ll preface this review by explaining that I’m by no means on my pizza high horse nor from this island of Italian food and pizza bias. I had the vodka specialty slice and thought it was yummy. The rich sauce gave the crust a buttery flavor which is different from other specialty slices I’ve had before. I had a bite of the buffalo chicken specialty which was also pretty good. I won’t say that this is the best place around but it’s pretty good pizza. I’ve experienced catered entrées from here like shrimp oreganota(sp?) that was a crowd pleaser. Looking forward to trying different dishes with the deal.

I’ve had the food twice since my first review and everything I’ve had was solid. The Baked Clams Oreganata was absolutely delicious and the Escarole Pizza(deep dish with escarole, mushrooms and olives) was a delight. I never would have thought of that combination on my own but WOW.
