The cowboy steak, filet mignon, and seared ahi were excellent! Overall everyone in our party enjoyed their food. It’s definitely worth a try.

Food, service and live music is wonderful. Great family friendly place to enjoy some time together or share a meal or eat outside with that special someone.

Wife and I were looking in North County for someplace to go with live music on a Friday evening(not night). Finding a website(other than a restaurant website — and there are many) was not an easy feet. It required calling the restaurant to make sure music was actually playing. Anyway, we were lucky enough to arrive just as Strange Brew( ) started playing. We sat ad the bar facing the stage and listed to some great mellow 60s &70s tunes. Match that with a bottle of nice red wine and we were set for a nice evening. The menu came and it was hard to pick. There was classic italian fare on one side of the menu and some american classics on the flip side. I chose the Veal Picatta which was quite tasty. .. not the best i’ve had, but very good. It was accompanied with pasta and delicious vegetable mix(carrots, eggplant, asparagus). My wife had the ribs which were beefy and flavorful. We ended up staying the whole evening and watched three sets. The crowd was nice and fun. we saw the table turn a few times with a steady flow of people. Definitely a good time. Can’t wait for our return visit.

Robbies is as great place to go in Leucadia to have happy hour, people watch and listen to some live music. It is one of my favorite local hangouts. Why am i downgrading them to three stars? There have been some subtle changes at Robbie’s. I am not sure if it is the economy or the fact that they are about to remodel the restaurant that has contributed to these changes. I first noticed a problem last spring when a big crowd of us came in for happy hour. Too many people were overflowing the bar so we discussed moving to the patio with the maitre D who agreed to let us order from the happy hour outside. Even though I ordered my first drink and appetizer inside I was charged full price for everything that I ordered. My husband told me not to question the bill and we paid it and left. I was going to give them a pass on their miscommunication but in light of recent visits it is relevant. The waitstaff has been talking about the eminent remodel in uncertain terms. They have no idea when it is shutting down or for how long. I think that the lack of job security is causing the mood to change at Robbie’s. Just last night we stopped by our local hangout just to get out and enjoy some people watching on a Sunday. The crowd was large and I was happy to see some activity. They have happy hour until 7 and I ordered my second glass of wine at 6:55 and checked out at 7:15. I was charged full price and asked about it. They just said that the computer rung it up at 7:01 so it charged me full price. What is even more frustrating is that my glass sat empty for almost 10 minutes waiting for service before I ordered. Come on, we are locals. We go to Robbie’s at least three times a month and have for years. Nickel and dimeing your customers is uncool. I have to say, their pizzas are still my favorite. They are thin and delicious. I absolutely love them even though I am not into carbs, I can not resist them. They are so thin that there is a chance of a burnt pizza, I have had burnt pizza twice there and the servers did not notice the black or come back and check on us either time. So maybe there is a larger problem at Robbie’s that is manifesting in poor service and price gouging. Hopefully they will give the employees ample warning before the remodel, buy new refrigerators and maybe some air conditioning, and come back as a great local hangout this year.

It’s a very Leucadia crowd, from families with kids to lesbian, hippy couples, to 20-something hipsters. They have live music every night so the atmosphere is fun and loud. Food was pretty good but a bit expensive. Service was fair.

I like it, it’s got a nice vibe. The food isn’t bad either. My husband accidentally ordered something with meat, it wasn’t listed as having meat in the description and they very quickly whipped him up something else, no probs.

Okay Robbie’s-Vigilucci’s, Vigilucci’s-Robbie’s = same place. I think the Italian side of the menu is much better, so I gave Vigilucci’s 4 stars. I’ll give Robbie’s 3 stars. I swear I come here some times to eat just because their ice tea is soo good!

We’re big Vigilucci fans, so Robbie’s is our place to sit in the bar and enjoy either the sports on TV or the decent local musicians who play there — or sometimes both at once. The most important thing to note is that the brick oven pizza from the adjacent Vig’s is the only edible pizza we’ve found in San Diego County. It is, in fact, VERYGOOD. This is a great place with a nice mix of ages, from toddlers to grandparents. Good local beer selection and the Viggilucci wine list. Couldn’t ask for more–

Sooo good the Big Leu is the best hamburger ever! talk about quality service, the waiters and waitresses are so professional and helpful. Never had any problems with the food. The friendly manager(Angelo) really makes you feel at home.

Robbie’s serves solid American and Italian fare. Came here with my fam and we were all pretty happy with our entrees. My little cousin had the kids’ chicken tenders and fries. I stole a chicken tender and really wish he hadn’t eaten the rest, because I would have finished his entire meal. My aunt ordered the lasagna and my uncle ordered a classic Reuben sandwich with fries, my friend had a penne alla vodka, and I ordered ahi tuna sashimi and tiramisu. So delicious that I’m giving them 3.5 stars.

I’ve been here a dozen or so times as it was a favorite of former elderly client of mine who LOVES the vigulucci side’s spaghetti.(Which by the way is al dente and perfect!) I LOVE the house salad with ginger viniagrette.(I might have to beg them for the recipe to the dressing.) The burger with blue cheese and mushrooms is hearty, juicy and they usually know the difference between well, medium well, medium, medium rare and rare which is always a plus for those of us who like our burgers a certain way. A few cozy booths are another nice touch. Could be a little bit of a romantic spot before they get too crowded or if you sit on the side near the fireplace or it could be a nice place to grab a drink at the bar and watch a game. The fries are nothing to write home about and neither was the Calamari. I go early(usually because I am going with an 82 year old woman) so I’ve avoided the crowds so far. I want to give them four stars but I am a tough critic and the two times that I have been here with my boyfriend, his food(a sausage burger and a chicken sandwhich) were nothing to write home about.

Ok I figured it out. The key to having a decent meal here is to order from the Vigiluchis menu. I had probably the best margharita pizza here. A little on the soggy side but the flavor more than made up for it. And they serve Palm beer. Score! Our server made a couple of errors and completely forgot one of our appetizers. But he bought us a round for our inconvenience. Ok Robbie’s I might now be inclined to come back here.

Brief Summary: Large portions of mediocre tasting food. Prices are o.k. for the amount of food you get. but it might not hit the spot. Rushed/inattentive waitstaff… 2 people left feeling mildly nauseous from what probably is some form of food poisoning. Longer description… Went here with my friend this evening. She and I weren’t expecting anything mind blowing… we just pulled over because the patio outside was full of people and thought it might be a good shot. Anyways, when we first walked in, there was an older manager guy? He just stared at us, didn’t say anything or acknowledge our existence. Fine. Too bad it was an omen of the meal to come. We ordered the Insalata de Pere($ 11), the clam chowder($ 7)(from the Robbie’s Roadhouse side of the menu) and the Linguine with shrimp and spicy marinara($ 21). the breakdown… The portions were generous, which was fine. TOO bad the pasta was over-cooked, a little too greasy and not that flavorful. It managed to be salty and flavorless at the same time. I know… weird right? The portion of clam chowder was extremely large, and was overly thick/heavy. The salad was just o.k. as well it was kind of limp but the dressing was just. o. k… I think the best part of the meal was not getting any service. I asked for a spoon for the soup multiple times and ended up getting a teaspoon after about 10 – 15 minutes. My friend and I sat in the corner table and watched all the waiters and waitresses run by without so much as a second glance.

I go to Robbie’s all the time. Like 3 or 4 times a month. At all different times. Lunch — The Po’Boy Sandwich is really good. It comes with sliced lemons in the sandwich. I thought it was weird, but I tried it. It actually made the sandwich a lot better. I was surprised because the sandwich was already so yummy. Dinner — They have an awesome Kobe burger. The Moonlight Blue is my fav. It has grilled onions and blue cheese. So good! — Their bone-in rib eye is also good. With really good mashed potatoes and veggies done in a garlic butter I think. — The lasagna from next door(you can order from Robbie’s or Vigiluccis next door) is really good too. Why I come back all the time — 1. Ask them for truffle fries! They cook the french fries in truffle oil and it makes them soooo good! 2. Ahi Sashimi appetizer. It has a spicy rub around the edge, thinly sliced. Delicious! 3. Butter and Bread. They serve bread with all meals. It is yummy, but I LOVE the garlic herb butter that they have with it! There is never any butter left when I go. 4. Insalata Mediterranea. It is from the next door menu. I think it is the best salad I have ever had. I’ve only had a problem there one time. Had to send something back but they were really nice and understanding and took it off the bill. Decent prices, good drinks, friendly staff, dog friendly patio. I also booked a Holiday Party here for my company a couple of years ago. They did a great job. We had about 25 people. Set menu was good. Food was good. The back patio and room were perfect for our dinner. Easy to book. Would do a private party with them again.

I drive up and down Coast HWY all the time and hadn’t stopped in to eat at Robbie’s until August of this year, and I’m glad I did. We have been 5 or 6 times since then and enjoy every stop. This is connected to(and seemingly the sports bar extension to) Vigilucci’s restaurant in Encinitas. Vigilucci’s, by the way is a solid stop for great pasta dishes(one of the better carbonara dishes I have found in San Diego County, but that’s another review). Robbie’s has a number of great sandwiches, recommend the BLT in particular, but their chicken sandwiches are also very good. The staff is very attentive and everything we have ordered thus far has been very good. Robbie’s is a laid back atmosphere, with sports games on spanning a number of TVs, with decent outdoor sitting alongside Coast HWY. Recommended.

We went there for Restaurant Week with a group of 10 people. Others in our group have gone to other Vigilucci’s so I was looking forward to the event and special menu. The menu consisted of a 3 course meal for $ 20, not bad considering the meal we got. The service was adequate considering a large group and the hostess was friendly. The waitress was pretty busy that evening, so I was patient, but I was glad I wasn’t too hungry. We had to request the special menu so remember that if the restaurant is putting on a special promotional even, they don’t really want to volunteer it. I had the caesar salad, lobster ravioli topped with 4 baby shrimp and the tiramisu for dessert. The meal was good but not exceptional. The salad was average; I’ve had better, the lobster was indistinguishable but the tiramisu was light and tasteful. My husband ordered the pesto linguini which was too heavy and bland. If you like creamy heavy sauces, you may find is acceptable. The group I was with are pretty athletic, runners, cyclists, surfers, etc. so we tend to enjoy a more lighter fare. This is a good place to come if you like loud, crappy music and if you like to shout at the person next to you; forget trying to talk to anyone at least two seats away. I can’t believe this is the best the management could find for local talent. We were there from 7:30 to 10PM. But the music began as early as 8PM so don’t expect to enjoy a quiet meal. I think this is an acceptable restaurant but I doubt we will be returning. The service and food was average but the atmosphere and lousy music was enough for us to conclude that we will not return.

We WALKEDOUT! I’m big on service and it seems lately I’ve done nothing but strike out when I’m choosing a new restaurant. For my…“20″ somethingth or maybe it’s 30 something :) birthday we went to Robbie’s in Leucadia/Encinitas. I was with my family including my grandparents in their 80’s. The music was so loud and terrible(the guy was singing the beattles poorly at the top of his lungs, don’t get me wrong I like the beattles but give me a break) my grandparents could hardly be in the conversation. We asked the waitress if they could turn the guys mic down and she said«Um, probably not.» snooty look and all included. I asked our waitress how the cioppino was and she said…“I really can’t say I mean I’m not a fan of seafood so I have no idea if it’s good or not.” Seriously even Ms. California could probably come up with a better answer than that! After a few more unfortunate exchanges with our bitchy waitress and I went to the manager and canceled our order. The manager was pathetic as well. So much for customer service at Robbie’s! We went to Auggie’s Crab Shack down the road and it was amazing food and fantastic service. I will never try Robbie’s again.

I’ve probably spent my time here equally between dinner and happy hours. In fact, the old web page had a pic of my friends on there. I was there too; the camera missed me. Regardless, each time, I’ve had great time among the drinks, the burgers, the appetizers, and the live music. It seems cramped sometimes, but that’s actually appealing. It’s usually hopping. Though I must admit, I haven’t been there recently because an ex’s parents like to go there — and I kinda steer clear of certain times to go. LOL But when the smoke clears, I’m back! I’m such an idiot.
