Staff nice and knowledgeable. However, I ordered the Scallop dish and it was extremely salty. I informed the server upon trying to which she responded, «well, maybe the rest of the dish will balance them out». It did not. I ate the one scallop. My husband tried ½ of another. He agreed. I ate the 41 inch ravioli that came with it. I did not touch the two other vegetables. She never asked again how the dish was but when She picked up my plate I told her it wasn’t good. We ordered dessert and coffee and then received the bill. Nothing was taken off or comped. I paid $ 28 for 4 small raviolis. I guess that’s why we have reviews. That will be our last time here. Sad. Not many options in our area.

We had our Wedding Rehearsal Dinner here and it was really well done. We ate dinner there about 1 – 2 months prior to check the place out, and everything was really nice — the food, the service — good beers on tap. That night we spoke with one of their event coordinator who was extremely helpful at answering questions and guiding us on what worked best. We used their ‘Conservatory’ room which holds 25 – 30 people — we had 27 who fit w/o a problem. They let us customize the menu and we scheduled appetizers to go on the tables as we arrived. Everyone raved about the food quality, and the prices were very reasonable compared to other spots we saw. Overall we had an A+ experience and look forward to going back for dinner in the future.

Ordered the filet, and while it was slightly overcooked medium-rare, the quality of the steak was amazing. The chef here put together a delicious menu and it’s delivered well. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to visit Apple Hill Farm again. The venue can be a bit confusing to navigate inside and out. The entry door isn’t clearly marked and it is a maze to find the restaurant. Once inside, it doesn’t seem to draw a large crowd, so it was a bit sparse. This is a more refined restaurant drawing a mature crowd. All that said, don’t hesitate to visit and try their amazing food, quiet and tranquil dining and, if you’re lucky, a view of the rolling green hill.

After finally finding the main entrance(the third door we tried) an employee happened along and escorted us down a winding hallway through a prep area and past some a nice dining room. My «stack» consisted of an unseasoned 6oz. filet topped with some anonymous food service ravioli and two unseasoned and anemic shrimp. A tasteless white goo on one side of the plate and a «hunter sauce» that was probably from a powdered Knorr mix on the other. My wife’s meal was slapped together due to a last minute substitution on their part. Over all everything was overpriced and pretentious. I’ll never understand why so many restaurant«cooks» in this area totally fail to season proteins before cooking. When did central Ma. become the repository for culinary school dropouts? And don’t even get me started on «demi-glacé» or «hunter sauce» from a powdered mix! We left with a bad case of buyer’s remorse.

Res for 2⁄28 at 8pm. Seated 35 minutes late. Upon arrival they did say they were mobbed, but there were three empty tables. Two of which were not filled for the remainder of the night. Waitstaff was courteous, took our order then left us for quite some time. At least four of the entrees on the menu were not available. App did not arrive for 30 minutes after a reminder to the waitstaff. Three risotto balls, luke warm. Mediocre overall. Prime rib ordered medium rare — end cut only served very well done. Good flavor, but improperly served. Chicken Cordon Bleu — overcooked, good flavor. Amidst all the slowness, late reservation, incorrectly cooked food — there was no consideration from the waitstaff. Good location, vibe, décor, but it felt like they opened last week — they were definitely not prepared for a full house. Will attempt again and hoping for a much better experience.

We tried planning our wedding here and had SUCHANAWFULEXPERIENCE. They have the WORST customer service. We were willing to go over our budget to have our wedding here and had multiple meetings with the event coordinator to have our wedding the way we wanted it being budget concious but in the end were told they could make more money off of someone else!!! We went elsewhere and are SO glad we did! This place is only concerned about making money off people and could care less about how they treat their customers. I will never reccomend this place to anyone! Bring your business elsewhere!

Just got back from an amazing meal… I had the duck which was prepared perfectly. My boyfriend’s steak was fairly tough, and was over cooked, so I knocked off a star. The atmosphere is great, but because we ended up alone on the porch we could hear all kinds of noise from what sounded like the staff in the screened in section. They probably need to make the staff more aware of what the diners can hear. I will return, I love this place!

«All Image and no substance» is the way I would describe my dinner experience at what is a beautiful spot to dine. The ambience is quite homey and warm. The restaurant is nestled away from the hectic mall-traffic area of Leominster, and situated on a hill that was once a farm. I had sampled their fried calamari once before and thought I would try to have dinner there. It was a quiet rainy wednesday evening, and when my friend and I arrived at five-thirty, there were no diners, though the bar had a few revelers. We ordered a large salad to share. That was decent. Nice array of mixed greens with chunks of squash, and gorgonzola bits. My friend ordered a seafood dish with natural jus and butter. My dish was a disappointment. It was billed as steak tips? It arrived innocently enough and looked appetizing. But the meat was in chunks and seem to be coated in a reddish-brown sauce. When I took my first bite, I was horrified to be chewing into what seemed to be pork, and overcooked pork coated with some barbecue sauce. It was in-edible. I was too polite to send it back to the kitchen. There were bland mashed potatoes, and the only part of my meal that seemed freshly prepared was a small stir-fry of zucchini. I left most of my meat un-eatened and asked for the waitress to wrap it up for my dog. This experience is quite inexcusable since we were the only diners that evening in the dining room. ~tiaotse~

Last night my husband and I hosted a 50th anniversary party here for my in-laws. Neither one of us was impressed. For starters: we had reserved the ballroom. They put us in the parlor. We had a DJ and a photo booth, which had to be crammed into a small space due to the room change. Staff said they couldn’t move the buffet set-up even after the food was cleared to make more room for dancing, as the table was too heavy. Great. Love that. Thanks so much for taking our money and then putting us in a space that couldn’t accommodate everything we had planned. We had ordered a $ 27/per person menu, which included a crab-stuffed baked haddock. That never made it out to the buffet. The first round of salad at the buffet had no dressing, the meatballs and ziti were clearly pre-made stuff from Sysco, and the cheese plate that they gave us only offered one kind of cheese. Mediocre and disappointing… not even close to what we expected. When my husband and sister-in-law called out the manager on the lack of haddock, she reduced the bill and gave my sister-in-law a gift card, but we still don’t feel like we got what we paid for… even after the price reduction. The room was nice, and the waitstaff and bartender were attentive and pleasant. Too bad the food and catering management failed to live up to what we were promised.

This is the only place in Leominster that I look forward to going to when visiting family and friends! The view is stunning. The waitstaff is very kind and knowledgeable of the menu. I recently had the scallops with butternut ravioli and spinach plate and it was to die for! The combination of flavors was amazing and you certainly cannot find that anywhere else in Leominster! I recommend getting a Shipyard Pumpkinhead with this plate if you come in the fall as I think it would greatly compliment the flavors of the dish! The view is by far the best in the area! I’ve been to various functions in the room in front of the bar, the patio and the bar, but have not gone in the new area. I will go back as much as I can when home and hope someone gets married soon so I can see the new reception area!!!

I really love going to Apple Hill Farm for drinks. It’s lovely there and the prices are reasonable. However, their service is really lacking, both at the tables and at the bar. The servers and bartender are way more interested in chatting with each other than they are in paying attention to customers. UNLESS you are a regular(I’m not.). They will chat you up like crazy if you are — at least from what I have seen. Despite that, I would go to Apple Hill Farm more often(I go 3 or 4 times a year.) if the bar area was larger. It’s almost impossible to find 2 free seats there. Obviously their regulars are REALLY regular. As for the food… not so good. «Overcooked» is the first word that comes to mind. I also suspect that some of their menu items, maybe most of them, come frozen. In addition, they close at 10:00! We went to their Mother’s Day brunch this week. The food was just okay and their teeny tiny mimosa was WAY overpriced at $ 6. Did I mention it was teeny tiny? Despite the problems, I will continue to patronize Apple Hill because the atmosphere really can’t be beat and it’s very conveniently located for us.

The view is lovely, as is the décor; however, the service is sorely lacking and the food is quite unremarkable. There is no hostess station nor anyone to direct you when you enter — and waitresses walking by ignore patrons. The chips as an appetizer were quite good — however, all seafood appears to have been frozen and is bland and chewy. Portions are small and nondescript. Cannot recommend, sadly… a big disappointment.

We recently moved here from a place that had amazing restaurants and bars to go to. We were becoming disappointed in our search to find a solid good restaurant in Leominster… until we found this place! First off, love the décor and view, great place for a date. Drinks were SO cheap and food was amazing! I highly recommend the potato chips with blue cheese. Servers were friendly and you can tell that this is a place that locals frequent, so it has a real cozy feel. This is definitely a hidden gem that we will be coming back to.

I am not sure why the reviews for this place are so low. I love this place! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because there is a part of the restaurant under construction, and it was a little unappealing. I went to a wedding reception there today and the food was fantastic! The wait staff were able to let me know what foods were gluten free, and I loved what I was able to eat! The bar staff was friendly, and the drink selection was fantastic! I also very much enjoyed the view from the back patio. I completely forgot I was in Leominster for a while and had a sudden trip to a vineyard! It was fantastic, and I can’t wait to go back again soon!

well i read all the reviews but had a gift certificate so off we went… the place has a lot of construction going on and could have done a better job of showing us how to get in… but we finally figured it out and wound up in the library, a very attractive, high ceiled, dark wood paneled dining area with a moderately sized bar, the other area was an enclosed porch over looking the fields and the western skyline, very attractive… we decided to eat at the bar, service was pleasant and attentive… drinks were good… we shared a shrimp gamberi for an appetizer and it was excellent, would make a nice lunch actually, for dinner i had the coulette steak med rare and it was excellent and served the way i wanted it, sides of asparagus and mashed potatoes, wife had the surf and turf with the scallops, this was very good… a very plesant evening and a very good meal, and wonderful views.

We ate there last Friday night for the first time and were extremely pleased. Although there is construction going on, it’s not a big deal to get through it to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is in a beautiful, dark panelled library and insulated sunporch. My wife had the salmon and I had the duck– both were cooked perfectly and were delicious, and the service was excellent. The prices weren’t too bad, either. This area badly needs a restaurant of this caliber and I’m glad to see we finally have one. The previous reviewers giving this place 1 star… I don’t understand how we can be talking about the same place. We have recommended this restaurant to all of our friends, and now I’m recommending it here.

I was glad to see the other bad reviews too. People have recommended it to me. I have been twice once for a big pArty apps only and drinks it was great. When my husband and I came back for a sit down meal it was awful start to finish. He ordered Parmesan crusted chicken which was very soggy, wet and cold as if it had been cooked days ago. He is not the type to send food back but he did send that one back he was so grossed out he didn’t want to order another dish. They didn’t even take it off our bill. I had macaroni and cheese it was ok but nothing to rave about it was also cold. The latest review mentioned construction and a weird entrance that has been like that over a year. When you enter you have to go through a back hallway and the door opens to the middle of the restaurant no hostess or direction it is weird.

We were looking for a place for dinner early one night that didn’t have an hour and a half wait and Apple Hill Farm came up. I saw the horrible reviews but figured it can’t be all that bad and still be in business a year later. I called and found there not to be a wait but they were nice enough to put my name down just in case so we were assured of getting a table. They were doing some construction so it was odd getting into the place but had a few signs up to direct us where to go. We were surprised when we made it into the dining room — the«Library» as it was nice. Dark wood, a bar and some nicely set tables. There were a few TVs around and about half of the tables were full. We were asked if we wanted to sit in the bar or not as it could get loud but we were actually having dinner early so we could get home to watch football — problem solved. It’s like having a nice place to go to watch sports rather than your typical bar. We started off with the blue cheese potato chips and they were awesome. The thinly sliced, home-made chips were fried perfectly and drizzled with blue cheese dressing and chunks of blue cheese. We ate every last one. With all of the horrible reviews of the pork, I decided to try it thinking they must’ve learned how to cook the chops by now. The chops themselves were pretty good. Cooked a little over well but I’d prefer them well done rather than under cooked. The cut of pork chop however wasn’t that great. Two mystery shaped hunks of meat but they were ok. My mashed potatoes were ice cold but the garlic green beans were cooked perfectly. My partner got the steak with lobster ravioli and shrimp. The dish was quite good but again, was not up to temperature. She ate the entire dish however so it wasn’t all that bad but it would’ve been better had it been hot. It wasn’t a perfect meal but I’d really like to give them another try and perhaps just go with bar food(burgers, sandwiches, etc) and see how that works out. It’s really comfortable and convenient to watch a game, play some Keno and just relax without the atmosphere of a regular bar but a step up.

A special night out didn’t work out that way– the wait was long for ANY food– the pork was not completely cooked(and three other tables near us sent theirs back to be cooked!!) And even the waitstaff didn’t seem to have time… for a simple menu in a beautiful setting– it just didn’t add up. We won’t go back… :-(
