My wife loves this place. I remember when it was SoCos… a classic. I still like that they kept it an ice cream place. I feel like that’s important in the summer. Their ice cream certainly still tastes good.

It’s a cute albeit eccentric ice cream shop. They have a lot of empty space, a few tables inside, and a small retail candy section. They also have a small beverage menu, but I think that their main focus is really the ice cream. They have a large board listing numerous flavors. It’s a bit odd that they don’t have the glass display where you can see the ice cream. I’d like to be able to see what the ice cream looks like, since this is helpful in the ice cream decision-making, but they do let you try the flavors out before committing. I got the nutella ice cream and it was pretty good! As others have mentioned, it is pretty pricey?! They are generous with the scoop, but I think I’d prefer a smaller option that was also a bit cheaper. Perhaps they could also let you have two flavors for the regular option — might make it more«worthwhile» for the price.

After trying the molten chocolate, espresso oreo, & blueberry ginger at the Boston Local Food Fest, assessing that it all rocked, and realizing Lenox was too far away, we promptly forgot the entire experience. Then, we accidentally ended up at The Scoop whilst driving to New York. The high power has a plan. Higher power. Whatever. So we danced on in, sampled 48 things while dancing, and realized that this was the bombastic local ice cream we’d tried the Sunday before. Rejoice! A patient & pleasant scoopmaster quietly rapped to the music as we deliberated, offering helpful thoughts and slinging samples. Honey cone, espresso oreo, and blueberry ginger were the highlights, served in a waffle cone for maximum dancing mobility. As we moonwalked out under the New England moon, I marveled at the flawless texture of the blueberry ginger, how it perfectly complimented the espresso oreo, and how everything happens for no reason. A reason. Whatever.

Good ice cream, but when I went, they had 1 person working and it took 20 minutes to get to the front… Only 5 people in front of me. A constant long line of people. Good ice cream, but not worth a 20 minute wait… One guy came in to buy candy. He scooped it out, but then left it because the wait was too long. I’ll be checking to see how many people working there are before deciding to get in line. The worker was very nice though. 4 stars for quality and service… Just make sure to take note of the wait you might have

Awesome ice-cream shop! Seating indoors and outdoors. Wide range of favors. Don’t miss their Giffords special flavors from Maine; Lobster Trax was interesting!

I got to try the ice cream at Tanglewood! I was a little surprised with the unusual flavors including mint chip, molten chocolate, and espresso Oreo. However, I decided to try the espresso Oreo anyways and it turned out to be a pretty good ice cream. Although I counted the server cram 4 – 5 regular scoops of ice cream in just one cup, I think $ 6 a cup is overpriced.(Well, I know that I definitely have to consider Tanglewood price…) I mean, you could buy 2 pints of Ben&Jerry’s with six dollars if you get lucky! Yet I was able to finish the ice cream with ease and that makes me think the ice cream does not include as much fatty ingredients as other ice cream. Espresso Oreo was good, but not my favorite — I wished it included chocolate chip too.

Pretty good home-made ice cream. They also sell some Gifford’s products, but that seems unnecessary to me. There’s a nice range of styles, but nothing too eccentric. Prices are reasonable(comparable to Ben & Jerry’s), but they do have charge a $.25 fee for credit card purchases under $ 10 which is always annoying. I’d definitely go back next time I’m in the area and I need some ice cream.

Feel free to sample as many flavors as your heart desires since the patient people working here don’t seem to mind indecisiveness :). Our favorite was the Espresso Oreo on a sugar cone. Oh and the Mexican Chocolate. We could taste the high-quality ingredients used in their ice creams. We loved the creamy texture and how each bite was as flavorful as the first. None of the bland icy ice cream business here!
