Finding a good guitar repair shop is hard. But when you find a good one you stay with them. Tom is the man! I had an issue with the wiring on my Taylor 812 and he got me up and running in no time. I actually called Taylor to help with the problem and he was the first one they referred me to. They also have a great selection of higher end guitars as well. I might just have to save up

I am taking a guitar class over the summer semester and needed a new guitar. I went in explained simply what I needed. Low cost in case I don’t continue with guitar playing and skinny neck because I have little hands. Steve picked out two guitars. On was a bit larger and he explained as a beginner a larger guitar is more difficult because you spend a lot of time sitting and practicing. He then showed me how it compared to the smaller guitar while playing. After that he had me sit down and give each a try. Steve was right on point with the smaller guitar being easier to manage and it just seemed to fit me perfectly. The low end guitars here are still a little pricey, but you are going to get quality not cheap. Steve threw in a bag and some picks with the guitar purchase. Steve showed me a auto tuner while using it to tune my guitar. He talked it up, but didn’t push the extra sale which I appreciated. I could have cruised around to some other stores and found something cheaper, but the attention to my needs and service offered made me want to spend my money here. The shop is kind of small, but t has a huge variety. They offer lessons for anyone who might be interested. Without touring the city and other music stores, Guitar Dock won me over and will get my business. Now, I have a pug, a Jeep, some candy, and a guitar! ;)

I wanted to update my review of Guitar Dock. I was recently in the market for a new acoustic guitar, and I made the rounds of all the local stores… and even went to Lawrence Kansas to visit the«well known» store there on the main drag through town. What I learned was what I had known all along: The best place in town to buy an acoustic guitar is Guitar Dock! After visiting Dan’s store, I left with a new Taylor Koa K24ce! Dan has been in the guitar business in this town for a couple of decades or so! His store keeps growing on the inside, as he finds a way to pack more and more cool guitars, amplifiers and accessories inside what appears to be a small space from the outside. From the moment you walk in the door, Dan will make you feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. There is no «high pressure», and you are always given helpful, honest information about what it is you are looking to purchase. They also do lessons, and they are the local Taylor Guitar authorized repair center… so you KNOW that they know their stuff when it comes to acoustic guitars! They cater to every skill level of guitar player, from the new beginner to the seasoned veteran. My $$ Price Range rating is meant to show that they have low priced beginner instruments… as well as very competitive pricing on some of the higher end instruments which they carry. I highly recommend a visit here if you are in need of anything related to guitars!

Tom Hedberg! My guitar tech! Well, he’s not just mine, a lot of people use his services, but he is an excellent tech and I’ve trusted him with some nice instruments. I’ve driven 200 miles to get to him. A carry over from the old Guitar Source, this downsized shop is personable and has some nice equipment. The guy at the front desk will remember your name so stop buy and visit or have your equipment tuned up.

Good to have a LOCAL music business to support. This little shop has decent prices and good service. Just today, I found a cool selection of LOCALLY made guitar straps. Not a big place. But a good place. Lots of guitar teachers on-site, as well.

Took my cheap back up guitar in to get the action adjusted. I had the guitar back in a day with a stellar adjustement done to it. I was surprised it sounded so good and was so much easier to play. Best part was they charged me even less than what they quoted me as an estimate.
