Pizza was okay. But good lord. How about hiring someone alive to work the counter. Ordered over the phone and she couldn’t get us off the line fast enough. Walk in to pick it up and zero eye contact, no greeting, no smile or «hey, thanks for keeping me employed by shopping at my store». She could not hate what she does any more. I mean. She could get hired to inseminate cows and would probably enjoy it more. Hire new help.

I have tried Papa John’s pizza and the first time it was great! Therefore, I tried again and again… sometimes good, sometimes not. This past Sunday, I was having a birthday party for my sister. I knew I was going to order pizza so I called Papa Johns early that morning and ordered six extra large pizzas. I knew they would be busy with football Sunday so I want to get my order in early so as not to be disappointed. Didn’t work. At the appointed time of delivery I was calling the store to see were my pizza was. At first they couldn’t even find my order. Then they told me it was in the oven. Next I hear from the pizza delivery man who says he’s on his way and he should be there 12 minutes later. The explanation was that they were slammed because of football but they didn’t expect it. The delivery man was apologetic and I appreciated that but the next final straw was that the pizza was horrible. My guest only ended up eating two with the pizzas and the rest went in the garbage. I have had to call and complain one other time about pizzas and I didn’t get anywhere with manager no satisfaction so I didn’t anticipate getting any satisfaction this time and didn’t call. But hopefully this post will help others. The new owner called me and has taken care of business which has guaranteed my continued business!

Whoa, I saw a Papa John’s Delivery driver in a black Honda sedan drive right thru the flashing right lights at St. John of the Cross Church intersection! When I called to report this to the Store Manager, she said she’d talk to the driver but when I told her where it happened, she said she didn’t know where that was. I told her to step outside her store & look at the big church across the street. You’d think a Store Manager would be more aware of the community her store serves. Geez! No wonder this store had gotten bad reviews., they don’t get it.

I call at 8:30 to place a carry out order. The woman on the phone takes my order then asks for my name. Repeats it back to me 3 times saying is that your name? Yes that’s my name… it’s a little different, but that does not mean you need to have an attitude as if I’m giving you a fake name. The woman then informs me that I can’t do carry out because they close at 8:30, only delivery. Ok fine. I have her my address only for her to inform me that they can’t deliver to me. Apparently I’m in a «dead zone» even though I only live right down the street. Point blank she told me there was no way I could get a pizza from them and hung up on me. One of the worst most frustrating customer service experiences I have ever had. Will take my business elsewhere.

I gave two stars because the pizza is just fine and I’m always satisfied with the food but there service is just un-sat. as their staff is just rude and this one girl has a major attitude problem. I feel like I’m bothering them when I come in and get my pizza. its just weird … I even tried to engage with friendly conversation and just got a weird look. I really think they should hire new staff because if papa johns when in their. he would probably shut it down to reconstruct their staff… oh yeah they also close at 830 for carry outs… even on a fryday… i bet thier competitors are happy about that… Update– I think they did reconstruct their staff

Terrible customer service. Have gone here a couple times because it’s very convenient. First time I went they got my order completely wrong and told me I must have ordered it wrong(this was a few months back.) Always a really moody customer service. Today my pizza was 1 hour and 30 minutes late, while I’m calling to ask for the status on my pizza I get a call on the other line and it’s them. The lady on the phone proceeds to tell me the guy stopped by my place over an hour ago and even called twice which he was unable to get in contact of us. We were home and I had no missed calls. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I asked if they could at least send me a fresh pizza and she replied no we don’t give things away. I simply said cancel my order I don’t want spit in my food. Then I told her I thought her driver was full of shit. I won’t ever order another pizza from here again.

I wish I could give less than 1 star. Last night my boyfriend and I ordered pizza via the mobile app and were given an estimated wait time of 30 – 40 minutes. After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes we called to see what was going on, the person who answered the phone said it was on its way. Great. Over two hours now from the time we ordered it and still no pizza. So we called again to see what the delay was and at that time the lady who answered told us that the pizza was ordered as carry out and we had to pick it up. I asked her if that was the case why was one story said 45 minutes ago and why were we charged a delivery fee. She placed me on a very long hold to speak with a manager. When she got back on the line it was then she told us that they attempted to deliver and nobody answered. We had been next to the door so I advised her we never heard anyone knock or ring the bell then asked why hadn’t anybody called, she started saying they called many times which was NOT true as I had my phone on my lap waiting for a call. I asked for a manager. Caroline then put me another really long hold as she went to get one, came back, would not let me speak with a manager and then just told us she wanted to cancel the order and refund. There was zero customer service for their obvious mistake, at one point during the call when she realized it was not carry out she even accidentally said«oh sh**» before putting me on hold to speak with her manager to see what was going on with our order. I will never order here again, never in my life have I experienced such poor service. This is the worst of the worst. Stay away from this location.

I’ve been here a couple of times, and it’s your standard Papa John’s store. The employees are maybe just a little less friendly than you’d expect, but it’s par for Lemon Grove. The food tastes like it should. They get four stars from me because I have gotten extra butter/garlic cups for free on more than one occasion! It doesn’t seem like they’re supposed to do that, but I like it!

This shouldn’t even be one star. We ordered a pizza over the phone. We were told after placing the order that there was an hour wait. 2 hours later we called to find that they sent the pizza to the wrong place and never called. The card was already charged. After some hassle on the phone, we should be getting a refund. This was so bad. i made a Unilocal just for this review.

Papa John’s is not my favorite pizza place, but I have to admit that they make a decent pizza and hand down some good deals sometimes. For example, I stopped in and was able to pick up a large one topping pizza for $ 6.99, and for a little more, I added sliced mushrooms as well( ). The pizza came with an average amount of toppings, although I thought it could of used more pepperoni for sure, the mushrooms were fresh and the pepperoni tasted good( ). The cheese was good, but they were a little heavy handed with the red sauce which tasted okay. The crust was of the medium variety, although you can get the thin crust variety on this special, and it was well baked, moist were it was thicker and crispy were it was thinner( ). The pizza was good and after adding some Kraft Parmesan cheese and some of my own dried oregano, it was better. I like that they a include a single pepperoncini in the pizza box, which I ate( )! Service at the counter was good and the Manager Amber was friendly and answered my questions well.

I just dealt with the most idiotic general manager in the history of the world today. Amber Gore, I hope you don’t pride yourself with your job because you suck at it! So I wanted some doughy pizza and the easy place I could get it was Papa John’s. My fiancé and I have not had it in a while so it was a new thing. I went to the closest one to my house which is the one in Lemon Grove. I saw the specials online but decided to buy it in person since I want to use cash that I had. The special was 12.99 Large with two toppings that came out to $ 14.03. But when I ordered a medium with two toppings, it came out to $ 15 something. So I asked can I get the special online — they said no, you have to order it online. So I did, but I still wanted to pay cash so I said that in my order. I waited patiently and when it was ready, the two regular workers actually were giving it to me so I could have easily gotten away without paying. But I was honest and I told them I wanted to pay. So I only had a $ 50 bill and they refused to take it. I was like come on, I want to pay, take my cash and give me change. Stupid Amber Gore even came out and told me that I needed to go to the liquor store to get change because it is company policy that they can’t take anything over $ 20 bills. SERIOUSLY!!! There was an argument and I just decided to walk out — after spending 40 minutes in that store and I ended up with a headache, an argument and no pizza. What a waste of space. I WILLNEVERCOMEBACKHEREAGAIN!!!

I had a 50% off coupon when ordering online and picking up in store, so we ordered our pizza online. What we ordered: one extra large pizza with onions and anchovies on half, green bell pepper on the other, black olives, pepperoni and mushrooms on all, on a pan style crust. One chocolate chip cookie dessert pizza About 10 minutes after ordering I headed to the location in Lemon Grove. I was not greeted when I went in, and actually felt I was a burden simply by my presence. There was one girl ahead of me and a woman walked in after me. When it was my turn to pay, the woman behind me was greeted and stepped forward. What am I, chopped liver? I know I’m getting pasty but dang, I’m not Casper the ghost! And I’m definitely not feeling friendly at this point. I said: «um, excuse me, but I was in line next» The girl behind the counter, I apologize for the description, but an Asian girl with an over zealous amount of makeup with a name tag that simply read ‘Assistant Manager’ rolled her fake blue eyes and said«pick up or carry out?» I stopped for a second. How did I turn her into a robot? I finally paid and she went to grab my boxes. She, no exaggeration, THREW my boxes on the counter, swung her head and walked away. Really? I wanted to ask for some extra peppers, but at that point I was pissed and quite frankly, a little scared. I got home and opened up the boxes, which, in hindsight I should have done at the store. The dessert pizza was perfect. The actual pizza was very small for an extra large, and it was a thin crust! At this point, I was so furious, we ordered a pepperoni pizza from dominoes, which we should have originally done. We got a little creative and stacked the pizzas. :)

I’m giving them one star. Their customer service is absolutely the worse and I will never order at this location again. Papa John’s should be ashamed of themselves to have as many negative reviews on this store location and not investigate the problem. This shows lack of concern for the public and the product representation which they produce. The pizza was good but their customer service is HORRIBLE! !! !!! WHICHISENOUGHFORME!!!

Terrible customer service! Terrible! The first time we tried we ordered the pizza online and it never showed. We called two hours later and asked for a refund. The second time went okay. It arrived within the hour. Just now I was hung up on twice trying to order and then told they don’t deliver here. I explained they had before and we are only a short distance up the road before giving up. HORRIBLE!

They get three stars because they have never delivered me a bad pizza, at least so far. The customer service isn’t always the best. I tried to use a promo code that gave you a free one, and they basically gave me the run around until I gave up. Secondly, I think it’s crap that they charge for crushed red pepper, at least throw a couple in there for each pizza, no one wants your«special seasoning» shit. Thirdly, why in the world would you deliver me a warm ass mtn dew. Yes, I would like hot soda with my pizza… I’m tempted to drop this down to a two star just for that. I couldn’t drink my beverage because it was freaking hot, not warm, hot! You’re lucky I had beer in the fridge instead.

Horrible customer service!!! Me and my two toddlers sit as we wait for pizza and the employees with sailor mouths. And as being the only people waiting they supposedly called my name and I didn’t answer so my pizza was sitting there for 10min. Gave it 2 stars because pizza from papa johns is always good

NEVERGOHERE!!! We ordered two custom made pizzas online for pick up. When we submitted the order, we never got a confirmation email. To confirm that the order was received, we called Papa Johns. They said that their system went down and to resubmit the order. We did as we were told. We got a confirmation email and that the pizzas would be ready in 15 – 20 minutes. When i got to Papa John’s they came out with just one pizza. I said that I ordered two. The guy at the front said that if i waited another 7 minutes that he would have the other pizza out and to rectify the situation would comp one of the pizzas. I agreed. 45MINUTESLATER… the pizza comes out. By chance, I overheard a customer complain that they received the wrong pizza. I decided to look at my pizza to make sure I didn’t have the same fate. Low and behold, it’s the WRONGPIZZA! I demanded a refund. I am NEVER going back!
