This Drive-In has recently gone retro, the only one of it’s kind in North East Pa. All volunteer run and really has a nostalgic feel to it. They play cartoons, sometimes shorts, vintage trailers and two or three old flicks from the 1960’s-1990’s. They seem to hit very big when they show horror films from the 1970’s &80’s. You could always do Becky’s in the neighboring town but why not come to a drive to get a real Drive-In Experience. This is the place to go and not only that but they show 35 mm film prints. so expect scratches, skips and sometimes breaks.

I can’t believe no has wrote a review of this place! It’s been around since 1948 and has been opened and closed through out the years and it looked like it was headed for possible extinction because it couldn’t afford the new digital projectors and Hollywood stopped sending out new films in 35 mm.(as the story goes). Well the new owner, decided to go all retro with old movies and special themes and we were there last night with my daughter and her group of friends for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone 2001 and The NeverEnding Story 1984 and a Dick Tracy cartoon! They had a blast! It costs $ 10(per adult) to get in, the snack bar food is really reasonable and if you are coming from far away you can camp out all night for an extra $ 10(per carload) and if you don’t want to do that they have a promo going on with a local motel right by the NE Extension. You have to checkout their facebook page it has all the info: The only drawback and it’s not the drive-in’s fault, the Mahoning Valley Speedway is about a mile away so you will hear them off in the distance for a while but everybody just turns their radios up. Oh yeah bring your dusty old ‘Boom Box’! Everybody there is friendly, local talent shows up for the pre and half-time shows. Last night was a bit of a circus like atmosphere, what more can I say? Check them out. This crew will be back!
