Country bumpkins
Power was out at the Outlets and traffic was a big mess. I called them and suggested they close the mall since many cars were still entering and making things worse. They said they have everything under control.
They didn’t. Took me an hour to get out of the parking lot.
Hate to see them act if there is a real emergency.

We were visiting the area on holiday. This was our first time visiting this area and we were disoriented and trying to find our way around town.
My daughter dropped her crayons in the back seat and we pulled to the side of a main street just off the expressway so I could retrieve them for her. We were in the Ashburn/​Leesburg area at the time this happened. When I glanced up I was alarmed to see a police car pulled up behind us with his lights flashing. I was sure I’d made a foolish mistake somehow.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that dear officer signal to me that I was OK and he was simply blocking oncoming traffic for us to keep us safe from an accident. I feel so honored to have been assisted and protected in this way even though it was only for a couple of minutes. Thank you for having wonderful police officers. We truly appreciate it and feel grateful for this brief but significant and meaningful encounter.
