Pizza Hut

Okay so I get that this Pizza Hut was short a driver tonight, because I called half an hour after our food was scheduled to arrive (per the website when I ordered). I do wish, however, that they would have called their delivery orders to let them know that it was going to be 90 minutes.

Ok, I’m surprised, I NEVER thought I’d associate «Pizza Hut» with «4 stars»…
Pizza Hut has always been «comfort food» — in the fact that you get a pizza when you are in a bad mood, have it delivered because you certainly don’t want to GO anywhere, stuff it in your mouth quickly and hardly taste anything, but at least it’s comfort food, and the next day, regret the whole thing because you certainly didn’t need all those carbs (but you eat the leftovers anyway for lunch).
THAT’S Pizza Hut.
And I do that maybe 2 – 3 times a year — hey, not too bad!
So, it’s been the requisite 4 – 5 months, and «it’s time to do the routine».
Wow — the web site has changed. Lots more choices. FRESH SPINACH? What the **** is that? And what are drizzles? And sprinkles on the outer crust?
Ok, first — it’s a geek’s delight. Now I have (calculate it!) hundreds of choices, even if ultimately it will still be «stuff in my mouth».
Then, they deliver quickly. And oh my! It actually tastes great! It’s like going out to a (name your own pizza joint — mumble mumble California Pizza Kitchen) on one of those days when you don’t want to go anywhere (remember — comfort food).
I munched ¾ of the pizza, actually kept saying «this is REALLY good!», and then put the leftovers in the fridge, as usual.
Unlike normal, my mood was lifted immediately! Angels appeared, and … ok never mind. But the next day, I did NOT regret getting the pizza, and I looked forward to my leftover lunch.
If Pizza Hut is reinventing themselves, I’m all for this.
Ok, I published this and just re-​read it as a «reader». No, this is not a shill review — this really happened to me last night (1÷13÷2015). I’m sincere, really!

Notwithstanding that the restaurant is Pizza Hut, we typically have had good pizza from this conveniently located restaurant. Not world class and not the best, but pretty good. Tonight was an exception; and not in a good way. Worst excuse for a pizza ever. Unlikely we’ll be going back anytime soon.

Friendly service and delivery, but the pizza was cold, old, and nasty. Don’t get the little pizzas. They’re god awful. Not ordering from here again based on my last experience.

Ordered a simple order from this pizza hut location that is less than 2.5 miles away. 25 minutes after the time I was told the pizza would be here, no word or pizza. I called the main number and once I finally got someone on the line, was told I’d get a credit the next time I ordered pizza. I ordered pizza from them again tonight… and currently am still waiting on my pizza. It is now 30 min past the scheduled time of delivery. I called the line once when it was 15 min late who told me there was nothing they could do until it was 20 min late… and they could see my $ 2 credit from the last time, but I’d have to create a new account to get it. I called again at 25 min late, which they told me I’d again have to call back and let them speak to the driver (that I’m supposedly supposed to keep here through the 5 min wait to speak to an actual person), to find out how much they can «credit» my pizza. With it being so close, no idea why this location has went downhill so much so fast (it used to be awesome), but I won’t be giving them anymore of my money. Too many pizza locations around to keep giving business to a place who has no customer service and can’t get a pizza to you in a decent time (or on time at all).

I wouldn’t normally give a 5 star rating to a corporate pizza chain, BUT every aspect about tonight’s experience exceeded my expectations.
1. Instead of long hold times we were immediately routed to a central call center where a friendly Pizza Hut representative took our order.
2. We were quoted a delivery time of 45 minutes. The pizza surprisingly arrived in 25 minutes!
3. The delivery driver was professional, polite and very gracious for our generous tip.
4. The pizza was piping hot, cooked perfectly and as good as any Pizza Hut pizza we’ve ever tasted.
5. Bonus stars for including lots of Shaky Parm packets!
