So, my fellow Unilocalsters led me to this place. This area is relatively close to where I live so I gave it a shot! I went on a Tuesday around 5 pm where the place had one other costumer. Sometimes I like to try new places on the downtime anyway so I can experience them at their best. So, the place is small but nice with a nice little bar area where a TV is centrally located. The service was nice and fast. The place is new so it is clean, and actually smells good(scentsy kinda stuff, but not too overpowering to make you unenjoy your food). I ordered the Naruto roll, Himachi, and spicy salmon hand roll. I was very excited about the naruto roll because it does not have rice. I have my moments where I try to abstain from rice to keep my figure and have had to drive far for rice-less sushi and here it is! I also liked the fact that you can substitute brown rice for all of their sushi, that should attract all the hipster brown rice eaters and so as the health geeks. The himachi was good and tasted fresh, and they served it on ice which was nice. Overall the food and service was great! I recommend this place for a quick neighborhood sushi fix. The people are nice, the food is great and the prices are reasonable.

I liked the environment, had a great waiter, but in the end I just felt the overall quality wasn’t there, not for the price you pay. It seems they specialize in sashimi because the simple spicy tuna roll came out looking… well not too pretty. Fell apart very easily and looked like it would. It was odd because the other people I was with got the fancier rolls and they looked fine. The hot and sour soup wasn’t the greatest either. I think I’m biased because little Tokyo in pasadena has my heart!

I came here for lunch with one of my gal pal’s. The place is pretty small but the atmosphere is nice, with exception that I would rather listen to some authentic music rather than think about doing the stanky leg. LMAO. Because I am on a workout & meal plan right now, I have to be very selective about what I eat. I ordered the sushi and sashimi lunch combo, which also comes with a California roll and your choice of soup. I opted for Miso, which was ok but I can say that I wasn’t wowed by it. The sushi and the sashimi is chef’s choice, so I am not really sure what they brought out other than Salmon and Snapper. Everything tasted so fresh! I think this is a great addition to the League City area and I will continue to come here! Now watch me whip, watch me nay nay. Watch me whip whip, watch me nay nay.

We ordered lots of stuff… there were six of us. The Cowboy Roll, with filet mignon, shrimp tempura and spicy crab, was very good. The crab puffs were okay. The vegetable tempura was okay. I ordered the Sashimi Deluxe. The presentation was nice, served on ice that continually changed colors! There was a lot of food and each selection was fresh and tasty. It wasn’t the most amazing sashimi I’ve ever had, but it was very good. The waitress was very accommodating.

I was delighted to see a new business pop up in the South Shore area. And I’m even more delighted to find that this sushi restaurant is a first rate establishment. I must first say I’m very hard to impress, especially when it comes to sushi. I like fresh fish and am not wowed by fancy sauces and tempura rolls that cover up the simplicity of fresh ingredients. Now for the review. We just got done with lunch at Ocean, and I am very satisfied with the experience. My favorite was by far the Marina Bay roll. So yummy! I could have had 2. The Naruto roll was very tasty too, and the simple but delicious salmon with avocado was a star. I will definitely be back! And I encourage everyone reading this review to give it a try. This is exactly the type of business that league city needs, and I’m so proud of the Ocean owners who have done a very nice job with this restaurant.

Excellent! Art in eating! The Sushi Chef is a very nice guy that always makes sure the customer is satisfied. I eat here at least twice/week! The owner is very hospitable. Highly recommend it.

Beers are great /especially the Devils Backbone. But the kicker to the beer is the bacon wrapped braised scallops. OMG!

Best sushi place around! Finally a local place that had fresh sushi. Saves me plenty of drives out to Houston.

I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars. No issues with the sushi — it was very good. The service was excellent. The place was nice, clean, no issues there. I had a problem with 3 things: — I thought the roll menu was limited. — I thought the rolls were very small. — For the size of the rolls, I thought it was pricey. I just moved here from another state so maybe it’s how they do things here but where I came from the portion sizes were huge — you almost couldn’t fit a roll in your mouth at once and the prices were very similar. I’ll go back because it’s close and like I said, the sushi’s good, but I wish they’d add some specialty rolls to the menu and make them bigger.

I have been here about three times since it has opened. The lunch bento box is okay for the price you pay, I paid the extra four dollars for the extra meat and only got two pieces of shrimp. The crazy roll and chicken udon stir fry are my two favorites so far. All the sushi rolls I have tried are phenomenal though. The service is great every time we go no matter how busy it is.

Noticed that this place was 9 for 9 with all five star reviews. After our first visit, I will make it 10. Tried four different sushi plates. Two different spicy tuna rolls that were very fresh and tasty, the requisite California roll for the boys and we really enjoyed the Texas roll. Since this place is right down the road from the house, I think we have found our new go to sushi place.

Dined here tonight, and I think it’s safe to say that Ocean Sushi has got to be one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to. The fish here is so incredibly fresh! For starters, we had the special Bronzino appetizer, baked mussels and fried calamari. For our entrée, we asked the chef to put together an assortment of sushi and sashimi for us– and man, did he put together the best dish ever. Our platter included fresh salmon, tuna, yellowtail, toro, aji, spicy chopped scallop, uni, ama ebi, an Amazing Tuna roll and to our surprise– he even included the whole fried Aji bones! Loved that. Service was great all around as well. Will definitely be returning!

This is the best sushi I’ve had in a long time. The restaurant is quiet and classy. It makes for some grown and sexy time! The food was amazing. The service was even better! All the other patrons seemed genuinely pleased as well. Thank god a new sushi place opened up in this area! They also have options if you don’t like sushi. Next time, I’m getting the general tsos!

This place is wow… everything was so good! The live scallops is so delicious. I ordered yellowtail, baby yellowtail(it was so soft and yummy), ocean trout, red snapper(the best red snapper ever, the texture was different from all the other snappers I’ve tried. This is definitely the best.), pepper tuna, and spicy scallops! All their fish are extremely fresh. I didn’t try their rolls. Next time when I come back, I will definitely order some rolls. I live pretty far from this place. The drive was worth it.

On a cozy October night we decided to go get sushi just to have some time out … The place is small but tables are cozy and chairs very comfy the bar is nice and the décor is Asian the music is modern Asian I think alternative Asian? United weed spices crab salad and a volcano roll. The staff dressing in black are very nice and they have pumpkins out for Halloween. Cozy feel inside just perfect on a cold night and the sushi was great volcano roll was great and the crab salad Was excellent ! Can’t wait to try other items !

Quick version: fantastic sashimi(I didn’t have any rolls or anything with rice), enthusiastic and friendly service, warm atmosphere, and a lot of selection. The owner and sushi chef have been a restaurants in NYC and have decades of experience and a dedication to fresh ingredients. Long story: I came into Ocean Sushi and Grille for a solo dinner while on business travel. Though I knew it had just opened, the first four reviews were all five stars and I will enthusiastically continue that trend! I sat at bar and the sushi chef immediately engaged me after I asked what he would recommend. He came from NYC and had 15 years of experience. What followed was a delicious meal that I will look forward to repeating! He suggested I start with the baby yellowtail, jalapeño, cilantro, and ponzu app. The fish quality was outstanding. Very delicate. I had a seaweed salad next to get my greens; they were generous with the cucumber so that made it fresh. The star was the mackerel(I believe baby horse mackerel) that he made for me specifically. It was delicate and delicious… definitely seafood but not overwhelming. The chef made the presentation amazing… definitely more than this girl in work out clothes deserved! To finish out I had tuna and salmon sashimi. The salmon was almost buttery. All in all the food was amazing and I can’t believe there’s this level of quality and talent in a strip mall south of Houston!(But then again I’m no local…) The service was fantastic as well; everyone was exceedingly friendly even though I finished a few minutes after their closing time. Everyone is clearly excited to be part of this new restaurant and it shows. Each person I talked to was friendly and very service oriented. I’m thrilled to have been one of the first folks to be here because I know it will be jam packed next time?!!

Surprisingly good, even considering it was opening weekend — Very well put together! The seaweed salad was fantastic, and the spicy tuna pizza had an enjoyable crunch and fun avocado«sauce.» Marina Bay roll was a pleasing mix of flavors, but had a very uniform, soft texture. The Unagi wasn’t my cup of tea, but I’m very particular about eel. Will definitely be back! A step above their closest competitors!
