Today was my first time eating at this restaurant. I ordered the number 4 chicken. It was extremely delicious the guy at the cash register recommended it. I order the mini portion and it was an extreme amount. Highly recommend

Needed a quick lunch while on the road traveling. What a find! We loved the Samoan burger and teriyaki chicken with a Hawaiian twist. Generous portions, very fresh ingredients.

There was a lot I liked about Big Sai’s. But there was also plenty I didn’t like. I ordered take out, and got the Samoan Burger, and Loco Moco. 1st, the good: — The décor in the restaurant is nice. They play good Hawaiian music, and there are Hawaiian NFL player’s jerseys across the walls, as well as good sports quotes, and a decal of the Hawaiian islands. — The Samoan Burger was huge! And had a very yummy sauce. — Loco Moco had the right flavors, albeit a bit underwhelming compared to what we tried a couple months ago in Kauai. — Decent service — A Hawaiian BBQ joint in Davis County! The bad: — The Samoan burger was huge, but it wasn’t worth finishing. The sausages on the burger seemed to overwhelm everything, so I took them off. Then there was simply too much bland hamburger flavor, so the sausages went right back on the burger. — The macaroni salad was tasteless! It actually tasted like nothing. — The gravy was just ok. Overall, not so good. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. It comes right in the middle for me. I may be back to try their Kalua pork, out of curiosity’s sake, and to give them a 2nd chance, but it may be awhile because there are better places to spend my $.

Good lunch. Try something new here and you will not be disappointed. I took their recommendation and ordered something I hadn’t heard off. Good food. Good portions. This is a must try place.

The food was OK at best. The teriyaki chicken was best. The rice and beef really wasn’t too great. I think this place can step it up a notch. Mo’ Bettah Steaks is much tastier and definitely hooks you up with more food.

Mac salad is really bland, and served cold, which is not how I prefer it. Teriyaki sauce is OK, chicken and beef could be seasoned before the teriyaki is added, the meats tasted pretty bland even with the sauce. The moco loco is a basic dish, best thing I ate.

We ordered take out which is a norm for this place so I was surprised when they left half of our order out. Having just arrived back from Hawaii I was thinking this would hopefully be comparable. Nope. It wasn’t. Loco Moco was nothing special and gravy tasted exactly like it was from a can. Spam musubi was very plain. Macaroni salad was dry. Short ribs were almost all fat an no meat. Felt very cheated with that one. Chicken Katsu was dry. The star of the show here was the pork. It was juicy and flavorful. Maybe the teriyaki items were really good but like I said, they got left out so all I can rate is what I had. Also, they were out of cake. They said the run out of it really early most of the time. Big Sai, maybe some great poke would be a really good redeeming quality. That’s something I really miss from Hawaii!

A bunch of us were visiting the area and we’re looking for something good to eat. Me being a fan of Hawaiian BBQ already read the reviews for this place and began to salivate. We journeyed to the establishment and as soon as I walked in my nose was bombarded with fantastic food smells. I ordered the mix plate of chicken katsu, BBQ chicken and BBQ beef. It all came out to a little over $ 11. When the food was ready it looked great and tasted delicious. I recommend it!

Get the teri chicken!!! Food is great, the service is great. I feel good supporting this family owned business. You get large portions for a good price too. I eat teriyaki chicken twice a week here! Very close to the south gate of Hill AFB too, perfect for lunch!

This place is fantastic. I ordered the mini sized chicken teriyaki and the guys ordered the full size. Perfect amount for me and the regular was perfect for the guys. Great customer service and excellent food. And they’re quick! PS, if you can’t afford a .35 card charge, you probably shouldn’t be eating out to begin with. Help keep small businesses small!!!

I’m at Big sai’s 4 times a week it’s that good. I get the chicken katsu every time and never ever disappoints! The katsu sauce is the best in the state. I honestly think that big Sai’s is better than L & L in downtown SLC I’m still a senior in high school at CHS and me and my friends go there just about every lunch day! The staff know us because of how much we go. They are kind and very generous. You can catch us there tomorrow for lunch!

Good customer service and the food was prepared quickly. It’s a nice place for a quick lunch or dinner. I had the Samoan burger and it was delicious, but don’t think you’re gonna pick this burger up and eat it. It’s smothered in delicious gravy.

I was looking forward to the teriyaki chicken and saw they have a mini plate for $ 5.65 and a regular plate for $ 7.95. The menu said the difference was the regular plate had an additional scoop of rice and more meat. I decided on the regular plate. We came here as a group and several others also got the teriyaki chicken and a couple got the mini plate. When the food came out it was easily noticed that there was NO discernible difference in portion size of meat whatsoever. The only difference any of us could see is that the regular plate had another scoop of rice… all for over $ 2 more. The rice was cold and the chicken was mostly cheap dark meat. Also, when I went to pay I found out they charge you extra if you pay with a debit or credit card. What a rip, I wont be back.

Big Sai’s is great. It’s nice to have something like this in the Davis area – comparable Hawaiian options are in Salt Lake. The food is consistently good. The portions are generous and fair for the price. When I was there last, I got a full order of chicken katsu which came with two scoops of rice and macaroni salad. The wait time was a little longer than I expected, but the food was hot. I do wish they had more menu options, but what they offer is just enough and it makes ordering simple. This isn’t the best place to sit and eat. Although it’s clean, it does feel a bit hollow and the décor is minimal. They’re constantly calling out orders so it can get a little loud, especially during lunch. It’s great to take out though, and everything is served in a box anyway. You won’t get food like this anywhere nearby unless you go to a luau. I hope this business keeps it up.

Good food! Great place to stop for lunch from Hill AFB. Easy in/out, generous portion on everything. This is Hawaiian sweet teriyaki, not like the Japanese food you know! Satisfying portion of a light lunch. Would recommend to others! Big Sai’s father working the register-THANK YOU.
