I hit up Wally’s to shop for my «post» Mardi Gras party. My work schedule pushed the party a weekend AFTER Mardi Gras, so I was hoping for some good deals since the Mardi Gras is OVER.
This is actually a large store. It is well organized by different occasions (birthdays, holidays, patriotic, etc).
Made my way to the Mardi Gras isle — I expected some type of «sale», but every thing was OVERPRICED to begin with. A few things, like the napkins I bought, were marked down $ 1. Most items were not even reduced. There was a package of Mardi Gras colored balloons (not foil or NICE balloons, just regular old balloons) for $ 4.97. I was going to buy them, but to blow them up w/​helium — $ 1 a piece. That would make 15 (nothing special about them) balloons $ 20 plus tax. Really? No thanks!
Yes, I LOVE good deals, but this place was WAY, WAY overpriced. I bought my one package of napkins and good riddance. I plan to have a St. Patrick’s Day party and have no intention of even checking out their merchandise.
