We just moved to Lawton and have been excited to explore all the restaurants in town. We were not disappointed in this one. While it did not have a large menu(or any alcohol-yet), everything sounded amazing and authentic. Our appetizer of grape leaves was warm and delicious. Our dinners were the supreme gyro platter and moussaka. We were served just the right amount of food all very fresh and delicious. The meal ended with a delicate baklava and warm bread pudding. We will be back, and can’t wait to try more of the menu.

Had the stuffed grape leaves(with meat), hummus(with cilantro), cucumber salad, gyro and gyro platters. We are all stuffed and very very happy. All good, fresh, delightful staff. A+++++

Standard choice is to get a Gyro at Greek restaurant. The pita bread had perfect toastiness, and thickness. There was a great amount of meat, which was hit, seasoned and sliced perfectly. The greens were actually green which is a welcome change to the bagged white and yellow garbage lettuce I’m accustomed to. Hummus is what you’d expect, and that puts bread came out fresh from the oven. I love it here. If you found this review helpful, mark it so. Thanks and enjoy!

Best gyro I’ve ever had. Restaurant is very clean and staff was very nice. I especially enjoyed dining to contemporary Christian music.

My favorite thing about my meal at LAR’S was the tzatziki sauce. I could eat it with cucumbers all day! I had the gyro sandwich and added hummus because I had to try it. It was lunchtime, and I really didn’t need the whole hummus appetizer. Also I was being cheap, and the gyro sandwich with hummus was the same price as the hummus appetizer at $ 6. I found some of the pricing to be a little high, but the quality is there. It was also more of a knife and fork sandwich as you can see in my picture. My boss and I went to a late lunch, so there was only one other table that had people. He ordered the moussaka and really liked it. It didn’t look like a traditional moussaka. It looked more like a deconstructed moussaka, so I’m now wondering if that’s what it really was or not. Nonetheless he said it had a good level of spice and flavor. Overall I was happy with my gyro, but there were some pieces that were a little crispier than I prefer. I’d definitely like to try more of their menu next time I’m in town.

Just finished one of the best Gryo sandwiches I have had in a while. Who would have known this gem in the rough existed. The location is no where near other main restaurants in town. It is next door to a salon that may or may not be open. I think I saw a bail place that is closed. So location is not a plus, but really I like that it is not near the busy areas. Outside, looks like an old worn restaurant. Inside, simple seating, not overly large, Christian leaning symbols, music, etc., with a couple TVs. I think there may be a group room also. The food, I only had the Gryo, but it was melt in your mouth delicious. It was served quickly and eaten even faster. The menu is nice with pictures of the food and a history of the owners life in Lawton. Looking forward to my next trip up here because this place is now on my fav 5 in Lawton, possibly being the new number 1!

My husband and me were here yesterday for lunch. We got our food to go but we were very pleased. It was the best food We have eaten in Lawton in a long time. We eat out a lot! I got the moussaka and my husband ordered the supreme gyro. We were both amazed at the quality. We haven’t had a good gyro since Sophie closed down. Many many moons ago. We would definitely recommend this place. The moussaka was so good I saved a bite for each of my kids after school so they could try it. We’ll definitely be repeat customers.

This is easily my favorite restaurant in Lawton. In 3 days, I’ve eaten here twice in my 3-day stay, and my expectations were exceeded both times. The staff are friendly, the service is quick, and the food is expertly prepared. This may turn out to be the only restaurant I will ever need to visit next time I’m in town.

When the chef is Greek.. . You are in for a treat. Perfectly spiced dolmas and devine gyro meat made in house. So delish, I’m going to have to go back, and I live almost two hours away.

Quaint place with bare décor but very good prices; like half pound of gyro meat and fixings with pita for $ 7. Many mouth watering dishes on menu that require 25 minutes to prepare. We were in a hurry for lunch so went with the gyro and pastitsios, lamb with penne pasta. Our meal came out quickly and was perfect. The owner/chef came out to the front and went to each table replenishing pita and tzatziki and making sure customers were satisfied. I would be back if I lived here and try some of the more sophisticated Greek dishes for sure

The food is still good. But the atmosphere and attitude are not. I wonder what happened. I probably will not be going back there.

First time at Lars. Love it. The people are very friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful with live music and family oriented. All that is great but the food was the best part. Very well prepared and great flavors. There was more than enough to fill me.

The Hummus is always delicious and I’ve never had a meal here that wasn’t delicious. Laith always comes out and says hi to my wife and I when we come here, and he always thanks us for our business. This is a great place for Lunch or Dinner.

Another fabulous meal here. The best gyro in town and the Greek salad is fresh, colorful, and delicious. My one(small) complaint: I wish they used kalamata instead of plain black olives on the salad. Otherwise, everything else looked and tasted wonderful! Service was on point, as always.

You know, I have been a bit of a snob when it comes to eating out in Lawton. I wasn’t getting my hopes up too high in anything ethnic. But I am willing to try new places and try to keep an open mind. I will humbly say that I was very happily surprised at the Greek food I had at LARs. The gyro meat was excellent… The baba ganoush was good too… Not as puréed as I’d like it but I love eggplant. And a plus, my little one loved it. Pita bread plentiful. I as a bit disappointed that they were completely out of baklava. When I asked about it I was a little sad that it was with peanuts. I’m a sucker for baklava with pistachio… But I suppose it would n too expensive. I’ll definitely be going back again. It’s a husband and wife set up… Food pretty decent for the area… Probably can do a little better with décor, but hey, if the food is good, I guess the masses will come regardless of the ambiance.

This is the cutest cozy little Greek restaurant ever. The food was authentic with great flavor and fresh. A little lady played Christmas favorites on the old piano. Even had cloth napkins. The only negative was the plastic table cloth. Would definitely recommend.

I have been here a few times since my last review. I have had the chicken gyro sandwich and regular gyro sandwich. The chicken was moist every time since my first review and the lamb is amazing. This is such a great place to eat and for now on the only place I will get a gyro from in lawton. Simply amazing.

We were in town just for two days and this was a great find. Very good food, from the appetizers to the hot tea everything was terrific. The hummus, gyros, and beef kabobs were excellent. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone needing a break from traditional commercial restaurants.

Yay, I found a fantastic place for falafel and hummus! Just moved back to the area, and after having some of the best greek food in the country, I was eager to see how a local place measures up. I was not disappointed. Hummus was excellent, drizzled with oil(is there any other way haha) and served with warm pita. The falafel was great, superb seasonings, great texture, and not greasy or dry. Perfect. My boyfriend had the gyro and thought the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sauce on the gyro and falafel was really tasty also. Despite some issues going on in the restaurant, the staff and owners were extremely nice and very concerned about our satisfaction. Excellent place. I will be back!

I tried the grape leaf wraps, which were spot on, delicious. Wife had the Gyro sandwich, tasted great. We also tried the pork chops which were tender and flavorful, cooked just right. I will DEFINITELY be returning to try pretty much everything on the menu. Had a chance to talk with the owner a little bit and he was very friendly. If you like Greek food, you have to give this place a try.

ABSOLUTELY A MUST! My boyfriend and I were ready to feed our Greek craving and headed here. We started off with Spanakopita for an app, split a Stuffed Zucchini, and a Kalamata with lamb. We ended up taking the baklava to go and is currently awaiting us in the fridge. The food was delicious and the hospitality was truly genuine, the owner came out to speak with us welcome us for it being our first time dining there. Really knocked it out of the ball park, if you love Greek food you must go here, and if you haven’t had Greek food yet, please don’t miss this opportunity to experience such a great food and hospitality. Note: *** the main menu items take at least 25 mins for the chef to prepare, this is just how it is. No one rushes amazing food. Be patient, and if you come hungry, get an app to graze on. The Gyros and such simpler items will come out faster of course. Supposedly they have the most delicious gyro around. I’ll be tasting it next time we go. *** the supposedly have live music on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm. We went on a Thursday evening, so as for what kind of live music I am not sure. *** I could be wrong but I did not see any alcoholic bevs available at the time of our visit. So if you’re looking for one, I’m not sure this joint has any, but don’t let that stop you from calling and asking or even going in to nosh!

I must say, I love everything about this place. The food is fantastic, the environment is nice, small, well kept and absolutely delightful. I even like how they have a live piano player for dinner music. I had the Gyro Sandwich, I had the one with some extra ingredients and the lamb was melt in your mouth great! Generous portions too. Now the only thing I had, that I didn’t care for much, while I was there was stuffed grape leaves. It was something I’ve never had in my life. It was an interesting flavor, but I think it’s one of those for a more refined palette than mine. We also had these home made chips and dip. They didn’t have a name for it yet, but they were excellent as well. I will be coming back very soon! ^_^

The Gyro Sandwich has to be the best sandwich. The Lamb on peta bread is so good. This was my first visit to Oklahoma and already wish there were more of these around home. I would definitely recommend this to anyone around the Elgin area.
