SUGARANDSPICEANDEVERYTHINGNICE! This a unique shop located on the square in downtown Lawrenceville. It carries spices and candies. As you walk in you will see a variety of spices, blends and rubs spread out on a large table on your left. To the right you will find an eclectic blend of candies with and without nuts and with unique flavors. The spices seemed to be varied and I would imagine that this store has ever spice you could possibly need or want,(yes that had the elusive Saffron). The spices were displayed in open plastic bags with large scoops. I would prefer to see them in airtight see through containers which maintain freshness and keep them clean. I actually sampled one of the pumpkin coated almonds and while the pumpkin coating had a very nice flavor without being too sweet, the coating to nut ratio was way off. You could barely taste the almond and when I purchase candy with nuts, the nuts have to be the star. The candy options without nuts were just too sweet for us. My husband purchased some Jordan almonds which he enjoyed. If you are looking to bulk up your spice collection or try some unique candy, you should stop in to see Ms. Nancy who is very warm and gracious and ready to answer all of your questions.

I kinda stumbled across Nancy’s Candy & Spice store. When you open the door, man the smell of the spices grabs hold of your nose, and fortunately doesn’t let go. The store is split right down the middle, with various candy coated or flavored nuts on the right(think chocolate, lemon, etc), and spices on the left. Each spice bin is per scoop, and ranges in prices, but I believe they top out at $ 2.99. Scoops are placed in clear plastic baggies and cover a wide variety, from french fry season, to grilled steak, turmeric, and my personal favorite, the lime and pepper… a little more personality than the more common lemon pepper. Samples are plentiful and staff is more than happy to tell you all about a product you’re interested in. Are there cheaper spice stores? Probably, but truth be told, this is my first spice store i’ve encountered, but they have a lot of variety and I like the smaller business shops that line the Lawrenceville square. Nice addition to a wonderful strip of businesses in this walkable part of town.

As soon as you open the door you are drawn in by all the lovely aromas. Nancy’s Candy & Spice has become my go to place for all my favorite tried and true spices, which are always fresh and aromatic. If I want to try something new, Nancy is there to guide me with helpful suggestions and even recipes. The soul food seasoning makes everything you put it on taste better! Best part is you can purchase as much or as little as you like. The candies, the local honey, baklava are all excellent. Just the right blend of value, variety and great customer service. Stop by the next time you are in downtown Lawrenceville or better yet make a special trip, you won’t be disappointed.

Walking by it looks like an old fashioned candy shop but upon entering found there is a bit more going on in here like a large table full of random spices and seasonings(now we’re talkin). Want a taste go ahead have one or a few, prices are by the scoop«o.k. let me have a scoop of pickling spices, steak and the lime pepper please.» Look around and you will find a handful of soaps, cooking oils in flavors like porcini and black or white truffle and a bit of tea. Have a sweet tooth candied fruit, almonds plain or in flavors like lemon cream and my favorite pumpkin spice can be purchased in snack sized portions. The pieces on the wall are for sale and you may even put in a bid should something catch your eye the lady running the shop is a local artist and her works are on these walls.

We walked in on a whim for some last-minute presents and walked out with several bags of amazing treats. The first thing I noticed was the giant table just full of spices. They smelled so amazing, and I will be back for sure. The nuts, candies, and dried fruits made great gifts for friends(and treats for ourselves). If you go, you MUST try the lemon crème almonds. They look like jordan almonds, but are not hard. The lemon crème exterior is a perfect mix of sweet and tart. I’ll go back just to get bagfuls of those. The chocolate covered pomegranate seeds were a big hit too. Nancy and her shop assistant were there when we went, and they were just so nice. They kept having us try more nuts and candies and tied up my gifts with really nice bows and ribbon. This is a fantastic place to go for gifts or just to treat yourself. It’s also nice to find a local business owned by such nice people!

I have become addicted to this place. My boyfriend actually has to hold my arm and keep me from going in when he knows that I can’t afford a spice binge. Currently, I’m hooked on their taco seasoning as I’ve been experimenting with making Mexican casseroles. Go in here if you get a chance. The seasonings range in prices and are pretty inclusive of a wide variety of your culinary needs.

LOVETHISPLACE!!! When you walk in you smell all of the exotic spices of the world. We saw sooo many spices, candy, nuts, dried fruits, etc. She gives free samples so you can try before you buy. My favorite was the pumpkin pie candied Jordan almonds. And the LIME pepper. AND the sour roasted almonds. AND the sweet and smokey barbeque spice blend. Okay, there are too many to pick a favorite! And the proprietress is so incredibly nice. And she is a great artist as well.

Nancy’s Candy and Spice at The Square in Lawrenceville is yet to be discovered by thousands of passing by drivers. The building is being shared with Dominic’s, the Italian restaurant, and most folks are under the impression there is no other business in that building. One has to walk by to discover all the goodies inside the store. The owner, Nancy, is originally from Jordan, and is also the author of children’s books, and a great artist(painter and photographer). Her photos and paintings provide a nice backdrop to store’s décor. Visitors have a direct access to herbs, spices, candies, and dried fruit. Sampling is not only allowed but highly recommended, and prices definitely won’t break your budget. The store is relatively new(not even a year old) and fits very well with all the surrounding places. A great place to grab a quick snack while on the stroll in downtown Lawrenceville!

This place really adds flavor to Lawrenceville’s downtown area, with the ethnic/Middle Eastern spices and candies. I stopped by on the way to my car after eating at Jose’s UYE at Local Republic(which was awesome, by the way). Two men in the store explained to me how the items were priced and showed me where to get the clear plastic bags that would be needed to take home the varied items in the store. I didn’t get any spices, only because after looking at how they priced by scoop, mental math alerted me that I was probably better off going to YDFM. But I got pulled in by the dried fruits(which I can probably find for cheaper at YDFM too). I got some anyway, because I just wanted to have stuff to munch on for fun later on. I got dried peaches, apricots, kiwi, and pineapple. High quality dried fruit. I also got these almonds covered in lemon and orange cream. The afternoon was warm though and they ended up melting in the car. Keep that in mind. But they were delicious and nothing like the teeth-breaking Jordan almonds that they resemble(due to their pastel exterior). If I am in the area, I would stop by to get some almonds to snack on as I stroll around the square. But the truth of the matter is that I am rarely in Lawrenceville. People who are there though should support this small business.

This place is a great concept. Buy only what you need. Everything is sold by the scoop. Most spices are 99cents to $ 1.99. Very fresh, clean, and appeasing. Not only spices and steak rub, but there are nuts, dried fruits, and candy. For a household of only two, I been looking for a place like(so not to throw away prepackage spices that don’t get used fast enough) for awhile and so happy that I chance upon it while dining in nearby Local Republic. Will definitely come back when my spices run out. Very nice owner and I’m big fan of local businesses.

I am so excited to have this store on the square! When you walk in the door it smells heavenly from all of the spices. Everything is in giant buckets on tables. The left side is spices, and the right side has chocolate covered fruit and nuts, dried fruit, snack mixes, nuts and candy. You can sample anything before you buy it, and there are even more spices in the back. You buy the spices by the scoop, and fruit, nuts and candies by the lb. Most of the plain spices(garlic, etc) are only 99cents for a big scoop, and most of the blends(lemon pepper, steak seasoning etc) are 1.99 for a scoop. The spices are soooo much fresher than what you would get in the grocery store, and WAY less expensive. Most of the seasonings that you buy here for $ 1-$ 2 would be $ 5-$ 10 in Kroger. And you’re getting better ingredients than you would in a store. My friend just recently bought a house so I made her a «housewarming» basket of about 20 spices, candies, and a snack mix all for around $ 50. I can’t recommend this place enough! LOVEIT!
