Admittedly I am not an Ingle’s shopper, and have never really given them a chance over the years. When wanting to avoid crowds, I chose this location today so that I could push my disabled mother around shopping for groceries. First and foremost, let me get this out of the way. There are NOCUSTOMERS here??? Why? This place is very clean, large aisles, and the employees are very nice and helpful. Where are the customers on a Sunday morning? I get that Ingle’s isn’t hip or super edgy, but where are the masses shopping here? As another reviewer stated, yeah the video counter needs to be 86’ed, but that’s a small niggle in an otherwise decent grocery store. The meats look good, the bakery items looked decent, shelves well-stocked, so I am still at a loss as to why this place is a ghost town. The only things that Kroger or Publix have that this location of Ingle’s doesnt have are higher prices and Boar’s Head meats in the deli. I get that most Unilocalers aren’t Ingle’s customer demographic, but have you ever asked yourself why? Most of the items you are picking up at the other stores are carried here, and Laura Lynn stuff is good. Try this location out.

I come here because its near my house, plus it never has long lines. I do like this place, but this place needs a major overhaul before it gets swallowed up by the Publix and two Kroger’s nearby. The place is very outdated. Its like stepping back into the early 90s. It needs a makeover. If I owned this location, I would: *Take out the video counter. Its obsolete. I’d put in a coffee bar with other specialty drinks. *Cut the meat counter in HALF. Its way too big. Make the other half into a sushi counter. Publix and Kroger have already gotten on to this train. *Turn the café into a pharmacy. Pharmacies bring in big bucks. *Bring in more self-check outs. *Take down the neon signs. *Bring down the customer service counter to eye level, and take down the glass. *Take OUT the toy claw machine & the dry ice. I’d love to see this place get a facelift! Its got major potential! :)

Ingles is decidedly closer to me than the competition so if I only need an item or two I usually end up here over the other chain. Ingles or as I call it Shingles proudly proclaims that they are ‘American Owned’ so there’s that. Prices are somewhat higher and I will sometimes spend the extra $ on one or two items but I find it difficult to do my bulk weekly shopping here. Basic items I purchase weekly tend to swing from a good low sale price one week to high retail the next. In my opinion basic commodities like milk, bread etc should be the same price from week-to-week. Shingles attracts an older crowd, and it is hardly ever busy. You can often get in and out of Shingles without seeing more than a couple other customers if any. The checkout clerks are always the same people so they must be a good company to work for. They also cheerfully offer to help you out with your order if you want the help.
