This place used to be great. Excellent service and good food at a good price. Over the years it seems that they stopped caring about service, food quality, and cleanliness. Their employees are rude, it doesn’t matter if you talk to them in English or Spanish they are just rude. My last experience was when a girl named Karla was working. She didn’t acknowledge anyone and wasn’t just rude to me but to other customers as well. Trust me this place is not worth the eye rolls.

Really great place to get popusas! The menu is simple, but I would recommend getting popusas. Pricing is just right as you can get popusas at the price of $ 1.75 which is perfect. If you like spicy food I would add A LOT of the green sauce they give you.
The baked good they have are also appealing and excellent if you are on a budget

This little hidden gem is perfect… we normally get our pupusas togo but would not mind sitting here atmosphere is calm n very welcoming… the food is PERFECT made to order… and for deserts cant miss out on all their pan dulce!!! i love it more then the food its delicious n the service is very nice as well if u never had Salvadorian this is the place to start. there’ll tell u the names of foods and also tell u whats in it ‚.love it!!!

The hubby and I have been on a pupusa kick ever since first trying them at Tlaloc El Mexicano in Athens. When they’re done right they are a perfect mesh of corn dough, cheese, curtido and lime. Yum-​freaking-​yum! And this place here has some of the best I’ve ever had. They are even better than Tlaloc El Mexicano but only by a smidge.
Ok, I got sidetracked by pupusas. Let me talk about the business, location, etc.
El Salvador Bakery II Pupuseria is in a small strip mall with a few other businesses and the parking lot is smallish and kind of dirty. I saw a jerky face throw down their dry cleaning bag and then empty their ashtray on the asphalt. Classy. This, however, should not be a deterrent for visiting. You can’t control jerky face people and their actions. Just give ‘em a good side-​eye and march onward to pupusas.
Once inside you’ll find a few coolers stocked with sodas, aloe drinks, cheese, etc. There’s also a small grocery section. Very small. Then the baked good area which is chocked full of items with no name or price denoted. Moving to the back you’ll find a few tables and chairs, and a chalkboard with special, combos, etc.
Service was friendly and fast although we did have a few language barrier issues regarding ingredients.
Prices are super cheap. Less than $ 2 for a pupusa and tamales were about the same. We each got 2 pupusas and 1 tamale and 1 cream pastry thing (I don’t know what it was but it was delicious and I would go back just for that thing!) that was dusted in cinnamon. All that for $ 12!
Hot dang! We devoured those pupusas in record time but the tamales? Guh-​rossssss. Nope. Slimy and greasy and really loose dough. Skip those.
Place is a bit on the grubby side. There seemed to be a lot of people working with purpose (all with hair nets and gloves) but there’s an overall air of shabbiness and dirty that is just a bit off putting. Tables were never wiped. Bathroom trash was all over the floor. Case dirty. Etc, etc, etc. No one was interested in changing any of that either, despite the friendliness. We got our stuff to go.
Our order was packed well and included a good curtido that was housemade as well as a red sauce. We grabbed a couple of lime wedges with our silverware and our meal was complete.
So, to sum it up: great food with a miss on the tamale /​excellent service /​meh on location and cleanliness. We will definitely be back for another go ’round.

I come here for the pupusas. Very good price and they give you a pretty big portion. Ask for extra sides if you are ordering 3 or more pupusa. I like to have alot of cabbage.
I always get cheese and jalapeño and mix it up with everything else. I dont remember liking the chicken one, but definately give everything a try. Worth it. They take credit card as well.

my first time having pupusas. i had the pork and cheese one. i didn’t know what to expect. but it’s like a flat tamale pan fried on both side with cheese and pork inside. it was awesome.
I also had their chicken tamale. sorry didn’t float my boat. i’m more use to the mexican style tamales. wrapped in corn husk… their version is wrapped in banana leaves then foil. i have to say their tamale was moist. a little too moist for my taste and preference… and there wasn’t enough chicken meat in the middle…
lastly, i’m in love with their plantain bread pudding. originally i thought it was banana bread pudding using a non-​American banana (something like an asian banana).but thinking again. i’m pretty sure it was plantain .well whatever it was. it was delicious!.. if only i had some Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream. it would have been orgasmic.

A little tiny bakery and restaurant across from the Pep Boys on 120. Loads of different Latin American pastries to choose from. They also have a large menu that contains pupusas. The chicken pupusa I had was tasty. Sadly I was between meals when passing by so I couldn’t explore more of the menu.

Friendly service, great food! There pupusas & frijoles con huevos are delicious. Perfect Lil spot for some tortillas just like grandma makes them. its not your typical restaurant. Its a lil bakery with your basic central american foods and a simple seating area in the back. Simple is definately better here. I will be returning here often!!!
