I get so frustrated with this place. I LOVE the Clam Dinner, which they are apparently phasing out, but it seems like it’s impossible to get it all done right. If the clams are hot and fresh, the fries are luke-​warm. If the fries are hot, the corn is luke-​warm. If all the food is hot, the Coke is flat. Or one of the condiment dispensers is empty, etc, etc. The last time I had a baked potato it was terrible. (They need to take a tip from Wendy’s: Their potatoes are ALWAYS perfect.) On my previous visit, the clams were obviously not cooked to order (after all, they take about 30 seconds…) and were bad enough to send back. Yesterday the clams were hot and fresh, but I had to ask for hot fries. They were happy to oblige, then apparently forgot about me and my clams got cold while I waited for the hot fries. The corn was border-​line acceptable. If you can get all the elements right, it’s a great meal and a great value, but at this location it’s really hard to get it all done right. I go in with high expectations and leave frustrated. There is another location that I go to occasionally, and they always get it right. If the Tucker location was a little closer, I would avoid Lawrenceville.

New southern white fish was moist and tasty but the grilled salmon was quite overcooked. overall it’s pretty decent.

I like Captain D’s especially when comparing it to competitor Long John Silvers. With that said this location is a bit depressing. This store is outdated like the rest of the chain, and it could really use an updated look.
When you walk into a place and the prevalent odor is the urinal cakes from the restroom it turns off my ability to not look for the other issues. Frankly this store could use a good steam cleaning from top to bottom and it wouldn’t hurt to clean up the exterior as well. When using the drive thru I am always suspicious of the bushes and who might be lurking about.
My first visit to this location earlier this month did not result in my receiving fresh lemon (they were out) nor did I get the extra sour cream packet I requested. The second visit resulted in lemon, but definitely not fresh and again no second requested sour cream packet for a baked potato. Sure I can take everything out of the bag or believe the clerk when I ask again before leaving. Order accuracy is important with drive thru service and in this they fail to meet my expectations.

This place has been around a long time. Have not been at this location in years but found myself there twice in a month.
Both times, I just ordered 2 pieces of fish a la carte. The people there were very friendly and I was surprised how fast I was served. The building is old by now and there was some visible depreciation but was otherwise well maintained on the inside and was very clean. The exterior had some signs of deferred maintenance though.
The fish was fresh and tasty as ever. Will return when in the area.

This won’t take long. I like the food here but the sides aren’t much at all. In order to get a good fill on the sides that you want you will probably have to order double or triple for the portions you would like to have. The containers that they use for a side is only big enough for a 2 year old to eat. So for 2 people you would end up spending at least $ 25 to be satisfied. The fish isn’t huge at all either. Again, you would have to double that order.

Absolutely great service, consistently good food, and great prices/​promotions. The only thing you could possibly complain would be about the amount of time it takes for you to actually get your food, but it’s a trade off between quality and quantity, and when it comes to seafood, quality is the definitive road to take.
